Chapter 11
Two updates within a week??!
I felt you guys deserved another one after waiting so long..
Third Person POV
Most villains who paraded around in the city were dumb. The transmigrated Phantom Troupe was not.
They were living with a hero, they could not afford mistakes.
Naturally, they wore black tactical gear and full face helmets. Any of their usual fashion flair would immediately give them away if seen.
The entirety of their body needed to be covered by standardized gear that you could get from anywhere.
The only identifying marks were numbers 1 through 5 stitched on everyone's left shoulder.
They were about to commit a crime after all. But, can you really call it a crime if you are performing it on a dangerous criminal?
The group had been tracking Overhaul's movement for quite some time now. The stakeout was bordering on six hours.
When Overhaul was finally well and truly alone, the group made their move. Hitoshi made a few commanding hand gestures and they were off.
They needed to be careful with this opponent. No one in the group was inclined to be disintegrated, so they opted for the safest (and most boring) option.
Hitoshi used the voice projection he built into the mask he sported and said, "You will not use your quirk. And don't speak unless spoken to."
Overhaul easily repeated the words, his eyes foggy. When he snapped back into clarity he was quickly attacked by Feitan, who used Overhaul's momentary disorientation to swipe his sword at him.
Now, while any of them could easily take care of Overhaul, they all itched for a good fight.
Feitan made precise cuts along Overhaul's limbs, right where he knew it would hurt most.
Illumi jumped in and engaged Overhaul in hand to hand, it was immediately obvious to the assassin that the villain likely relied too much on his quirk. His hand to hand was sub par.
Hisoka used his Bungee Gum to effectively stick Overhaul's feet to the ground.
"Well that was ridiculously boring." Hisoka drawled through the standardised voice modulator in his mask. Everyone had one
"I thought you said he was strong." Feitan agreed.
"His quirk is strong, without it I guess he doesn't amount to much." Hitoshi shrugged.
"I want his ability." Chrollo stated.
"We're going to be killing him, doesn't that remove the ability from your book?"
Chrollo nodded, "death removes nen abilities, but since quirks are something else, I don't think it will."
"Only one way to find out," Hitoshi shrugged, "use your quirk on the tree over there." He commanded.
Overhaul did as ordered.
"Answer number 2's questions."
"What does your quirk do?"
"It can disassemble and reassemble matter at my will."
"Touch your hand to number 2's book."
Overhaul did so.
Chrollo watched the quirk appear in the pages of his book. He held his hand out to a different tree and willed it to turn to dust. It did.
"My my, what a glorious ability."
He willed the tree to reconstruct, and it did.
Chrollo hummed, "let's see then if your ability survives your death."
"Wait," Hitoshi interjected, "shouldn't we see if he still possesses the quirk?"
"Ah, you're correct, that would be interesting to know."
"Use your quirk on a tree."
Overhaul obeyed, the tree disintegrated.
"Oh," Chrollo grinned under the helmet, "now this is most beneficial. I can steal as many quirks as I want and no one will ever notice."
Hitoshi chuckled, "it seems we'll have to spend some time finding people with powerful quirks."
"Indeed." Chrollo focused back on the task at hand, he slowly disintegrated Overhaul. Starting with his left leg. He wanted to enjoy this. Overhaul would undoubtedly be screaming right now, if not for his forced silence. While that did make it less fun, it also didn't draw out any troublesome heroes.
Chrollo had never killed anyone with their own ability before, he had to admit that it was quite riveting.
Overhaul's limbs continued to slowly disintegrate, one by one. Finally, there was nothing left.
Chrollo looked at the page with Overhaul's quirk, "it's still there." He stated.
"Good." Hitoshi stared down at the small amount of dust left where Overhaul was standing just seconds ago. It was wonderful that there wasn't a body to hide.
"I hope the next thing we fight puts up more of a challenge." Hisoka yawned.
"I agree." Feitan muttered.
Hitoshi hummed, "I won't handicap our next opponent so much, rest assured."
"Dinner?" Chrollo asked.
"Sushi." Feitan demanded.
"We had that last night."
"Sushi."
"It's like you don't eat anything else."
Hitoshi sighed, "How about we get Greek?"
"...Okay." Feitan reluctantly agreed.

"Kids! Wake up! It's your first day of school, I will not have you miss it!"
Chrollo walked out into the kitchen first, "Are you not the teacher? Why are you still here?"
"Exactly, I'm the teacher, I can do what I want."
"Is that why you're wearing a sleeping bag?" Illumi asked, sitting down at the bar.
"Indeed." Shouta poured six cups of coffee and placed a mug in front of Chrollo and Illumi.
Feitan came out next and grabbed a cup, "good coffee." He stated.
Hitoshi wandered out of his room a few minutes later.
"Where is Hisoka?" Shouta asked.
"Already at school." Hitoshi answered.
Shouta almost dropped his cup of coffee, "what? How did he get there, why is he there so early?"
Hitoshi shrugged, "he ran, said something about collecting fruit."
Chrollo sneered (his lip twitched ever so slightly in a certain way), disgusted, "doesn't he already have enough?"
"We have fruit here?" Shouta stated with uncertainty, gesturing at the apples in a bowl on the counter.
"Different kind of fruit." Illumi clarified.
"Do I-"
"No."
"Noted."
Shouta set his empty cup of coffee down and poured another one. Hitoshi set his down as well, gesturing for more.
"You're a kid, I'm not giving you more coffee, it's not good for you."
Hitoshi arched an eyebrow. He was not going to be denied coffee. Not now, not ever.
Shouta met his gaze evenly. He could win a staring contest any day.
Hitoshi knew there was no way to beat Shouta in a staring contest, but he was determined to get his coffee.
Meanwhile, Illumi snuck up behind Shouta and poured Hitoshi another cup, he wandered over and placed it in Hitoshi's hands.
Hitoshi grinned and let his eyes break away from the staring contest, bringing his cup up to his lips to take a sip.
"Hey! Woah! Illumi, you can't just-"
"Can't what?" Illumi interrupted.
Shouta sighed, "nevermind." He turned back to Hitoshi, "do that again and I'm banning you from coffee for a week."
"Do what?" Hitoshi smiled innocently.
"You know what." Shouta moved back to his cup of coffee, "now get in the damned car, we're leaving."
Thoughts?
