Chapter 6
A year and a half later
BAM!
The gun jerks back as I watch the helpless rabbit fall a short way to the grassy floor with my cold dead eyes that were filled with satisfaction.
What did the rabbit do to deserve this? Maybe he took up too much space in his warren; probably getting hard to move in there. Eh, whatever it was, the guys dead now. Who cares? Not me.
I pick up the dead rabbit by the skin of its neck and walk bam home.
On my way home, I was stopped by the sense of something near me.
I stopped in my tracks and looked at where the feeling came from. I could faintly feel the clopping of a harras of horses with riders, going away and one man.
The man was still and was close. I tried to ignore it, but what if it was a soldier from the Ocila or the Medawen. The two kingdoms are at a long war. My house lies right in-between the borders of both of them, so technically, I a game for both kingdoms considering I basically belong to both.
The man moves behind me and I slowly turn around. My face full of defeat. I sigh as I look at the man. I was surprised to see a man in fine clothes with beautiful light almond hair and dazzling blue eyes that any person could get lost in.
He had a medium figure and looked buff. He had a chiseled jaw. He was leaning on a tree and had was smoldering.
We stood there for a while until I said: "Hello?" I looked around. "Hi." He said. His eyes trailed my body and for some odd reason, he reminded me of when we and Star first met and how Star acted, except he is way more confident and clearly self-centered while Star was shy, respectable, and kind of scared to even talk.
I knew I already hated him. I turned around and started my way back to my house; continuing my path to home. The man starts to stumble towards me. "Hey, wait! D-did I say something wrong?" I turn around and the man's face was full of worry. He looked like he was trying to balance something fragile on its edge.
I turned back once again and started off. "Look, I'm lost!" He shouted. I knew he wasn't. I was a couple feet away from him and he was following me. "That's not my problem," I say, monotonously. I'm almost home, let's hope I can make it.
"Please! Can I just take shelter with you for a day or so?" I took a long and loud sigh as I turned towards the begging man once more. "Fine! But will you stop nagging me about it then?" I yelled in annoyance. The man smirked. "Thank you, you fine young lady." He said. He is horrible.
I went back home, finally! I got back to the tiny, broken, house and the man accompanying me looked at it in disbelief. "This is your house?" He asked. We walked in and he was disgusted by everything. The floors, the ceilings, the walls, the counters, everything. I set the rabbit down somewhere and gave him a tour We got to my bed and he was confused, but then put on a smirk. "There is only one bed." He looked at me with hunger.
"I am aware of that, Captain Obvious," I said. I looked at him with an unimpressed look on my face. "Does that mean we'll sleep together, in the same bed?" He leaned over to me with a smirk. I really wanted to smack his mischievous smirk off his face. I was now fully annoyed.
"No. It means that you are going to be sleeping on the floor in the entrance room." I said angrily and quickly and he nervously chuckled and scoured my face, looking to see me joking. His smile was wiped off once he realized that I wasn't joking.
"Heh." He said in embarrassment. His cheeks inflamed and turned red. There was a long silence. "So..." I looked at him with a warning. He stopped talking.
I went to the Mechanic Lab and the man followed me. I was currently making a bow for hunting, along with arrows to go with. My last bow broke and the rest of the arrows were lost or broken.
"You know, if you are staying at my house, I need to know your name," I said, staying my focus on the bow, the string, and the gears. "Oh, my name is Damion and yours?" I looked at him straight in the face. I waited for a while. Thinking. "It's Lillian." I looked back to my creation.
I didn't want to say my real name because of many reasons. He also doesn't need to know my name. That is just too much commitment. "Well, uh, where is your husband?" He asked. I stopped working and looked back at him with confusion. "Why do you think I have a husband?" I asked. He is really strange.
"Well. You were being back a dead rabbit, and I know that no woman can hunt or kill a single soul," he said. I am furious! "Excuse me? Who are you to say that I can't fend for myself? You are one dense fucker if you think that I can't provide for myself because I am a woman!" I slammed my tools down on the metal table. He looked frightened.
I stayed looking at him for a bit. He was really scared. "And yes, I do have a husband, but I am a widow, so you can put the connections together. Unless you are that stupid. You are honestly very lucky to not have been kicked out." I said. I murmured the last bit.
I can hear him chuckle nervously. It's going to be a very long year, I know that.
