CHAPTER 15
└───❀*̥˚───❀*̥˚┘

_______

It has been a week since we've been back, and for whatever reason, I seem to always bump into Chaz and his friend.

Not on purpose, but I always end up just seeing him when going for a stroll, or even at the market or store.

"Oh, it's you again." He noticed me, grabbing an apple from the stack.

Why do I always bump into this dude?

"And it's you again." I chuckled awkwardly.

"How've you been?" He asks, now paying attention to me.

I shrugged, putting a pack of grapes into the basket. "Good, I guess."

"You guess? Have you not been good?" He questioned, his forehead furrowed.

Always be nice, my parents said to always be nice.

"No, I have. Well, I'm gonna go now. Bye." I quickly walked away before he could say anything and looked for Liam.

One day at the beach, however, he did something I was not expecting.

"I know we don't really know each other that well-"

"No." I cut him off quickly.

He looked at me in confusion, surprised by my answer. "Wha-? Why not?"

"Why? I barely know you. Heck, I don't even know you at all. You just come up to me and talk to me for reasons I don't even know!" I threw my hands up, saying.

What made the situation even more awkward, was the fact that Niall was standing there watching. He was looking down, moving back and forth on his toes.

"I know that, but I would like to get to know you. I've liked you since the first time I saw you." He admitted. "I had you on my mind that very first day we met. I couldn't stop thinking about how pretty you were."

I think I just gagged a bit.

"That sounds so cliche, you know that, right?" I asked, raising a brow.

He looked down and blushed in
embarrassment. "I know, I know," He said, and looked back up at me.

"But I like you." He kept trying.

"One date, just one," He begged with hopeful eyes. "And if it doesn't go well and you still don't like me, I'll leave you alone and we can maybe be friends. How does that sound?"

I thought for a moment, twisting my lips. I don't know about the 'friends' part, though.

"I'll think about it." He smiled in satisfaction at that, looking down again to hide a blush.

"Why am I blushing?" He whispered to himself, before saying "See you later." and turning around and walking away to his friend, who was waiting for him.

I turned back to Niall, who had a deep frown on his face.

"You okay?" I worriedly ask, and he nods.

"Let's go for a swim, shall we?" He suggests, and runs to the water before I could say anything.

I watched him for a moment, cocking my head in confusion, before shaking the worry from my mind, and ran to join him.

On the day of the date, I thought it wouldn't have gone well. That I would hate it, but it actually went better than I expected. There was some awkwardness though, considering it was my first date.

We went to a restaurant, then surprisingly a bowling alley, that I didn't think they would have in this world.

Then we went to the beach, which we went to at night, because he said it was quieter.

"So, tell me a bit about yourself." He asked me, glancing up at the sky, his hands behind his head.

Oh no, not this question. This was the most anxious question ever.

"I don't really have much to say, other than I was born in Chamtrodel," I started, lying. "My parents are usually always working, but try to spend as much time with me and my sister as possible." Which is true.

"Hmm." He hummed. "Chamtrodel. I gotta be honest, I wasn't really born there, but I moved there a few months ago."

"Really? Is there a reason you moved?" I curiously asked, enjoying the spring breeze on my face.

"To see someone." He answered.

"Who?"

"Just someone important....enough questions, let me take you home, it's getting late." He said, standing up. He offered me his hand and picked me up.

"Thanks for uhh, today." I blushed, moving a piece of my hair between my ear.

"Sooo you liked it?" He questioned with hopeful eyes.

I sighed, knowing what answer he was expecting.

"Yes, yes I liked it." I answer honestly, and his face grew a beaming smile, his eyes sparkling.

His smile slowly faded, then he shook his head as his eyes blinked rapidly, as if he was trying to get something off his mind. I looked at him in concern and asked if he was okay.

"Yes, I'm fine," he gulped, avoiding eye contact with me. "Let's go before the last bus of the night arrives."

"O-okay." I replied, and began chewing my lip nervously.

Did I say something wrong? Do something wrong? I questioned myself.

I followed behind him, constant doubts filling my mind.
