CHAPTER 10

"Can someone please tell me what's going on?!" I asked again. I didn't know where we were, but as we walked closer, I realized that we were walking toward a dock, being that I could see the top of the ships from afar, despite it being surrounded by what looked like billions of people talking amongst themselves, frantically and nervously.

"I wish you would stop asking so many questions!" Asra snapped, annoyed.

"And I wish you would stop acting like a little bitch all the time!" Zayn spat, rolling his eyes.

She gasped and turned to Liam. "Are you going to let him-?"

"Yes."

Zayn and I widened our eyes in shock and chuckled, our hands over our mouths. She gaped at him in appalled, before huffing and walking away in anger.

"Good one." I whispered quietly to Zayn.

"You should've seen when she had her scalp pulled out." He tells me, and I laughed loudly, snorting.

We finally made it closer to the docks, and I looked around for Harry and Louis, in case they were here, and Liam looked around for Asra.

My eyes caught sight of Asra hugging a girl. They pulled away and held both of each other's hands, both showing beaming smiles at each other. The girl leaned in to kiss her softly on the cheek, and they continued to smile. I could tell Asra sensed my gaze on her, because she glanced up and noticed me, and it was like her life flashed before her eyes. She quickly dropped the girl's hands, and began to talk to her in a normal conversion.

Why did she react like that? I thought.

Wait...is she–?"

"Anya!" Liam called ecstatically, walking toward them.

"Oh, Liam, it's good to see you again!" she exclaimed, reaching in for a hug.

"It's good to see you too! How've you been?" He kindly asked.

"I've been good. Better." She answered, trying to avoid his eyes.

"Do you know why we're here, by the way? I was in the middle of eating lunch when I heard it; the siren." She questioned curiously.

"Uhm, no, I don't." He lied, scratching his nose.

Before she could respond, suddenly bright blue sparkles appeared. It revealed what I assumed were people. Everyone stopped talking and turned their attention to them, separating a bit so it didn't look too crowded, and so that everyone could see them.

Getting a better look, I saw 9 people in white robes, standing on the docks.

They must be the elders, I assumed in thought.

"I know you all are probably wondering why you're here, especially some of you, again after all these years." A young woman with gorgeous chestnut skin, started. She seems to have an American accent.

I guess it's a diverse council.

I probably shouldn't say 'young' considering almost everyone here is older than me. Literally.

"What's wrong? Are we in danger?" A man in the front, asked.

She hesitated to reply. "We seem to be under attack." And as soon as those words left her mouth, everyone erupted into a panic.

I turned to Liam, who looked like he was about to throw up from how frightened he looked.

"By what?" Another person asked.

"We don't exactly know. We're still under investigation." She answered.

"How do you know we're under attack?"

"Just a few hours ago, a couple of witches and fays were killed. They had stab wounds on their backs, and we're are unable to identify whether or not this is the doing of an evil magical being, or a magical creature." She stated in dismay.

"So what now?" Zayn chimed in and asked. I almost forgot he was here.

"Until we investigate and figure out these attacks, you all will have to evacuate immediately. You will no longer be on this planet, until we capture the criminal of these killings." She declared.

So that's why we're here; but how are hundreds of ships gonna get us to another dimension?

"Now, we need everyone to board the ships accordingly. You will all be divided by your countries, so not everyone will be on the same ship. First up, the Arapidassesh." She announced.

Oh just great, alphabetical order.

It seemed like a decade had passed, until they finally got to Chamtrodal. I sighed of relief, but also felt kind of sad, because I was leaving Liam and the others. Except for Asra, of course.

Bitch.

I boarded the ship, and the inside was not what I was expecting. There were hundreds of seats on every row, like a plane, which I have never seen on a ship before, not even a boat. I've never been on a ship, but of course, I have seen them to know that they don't look like this from the inside. Overall, it did look like a normal ship seen in fantasy.

I found a random seat and sat down, and then looked out the window. I couldn't see Liam and the others, but I did find Louis and Harry. I waved at them once they noticed me, and they waved back, smiling cheekily.

"One of them your boyfriend?" I jumped up startled at the sudden male voice, and held my hand over my chest as my heart beats fast.

I turned my head to see a young man with hazel green eyes and a heart-shaped face. He looks almost like a Tim Burton character, but more attractive.

"Oh, sorry, did I scare you?" He apologizes.

"Umm yeah! You did!" I snapped, my heart still pounding.

"I'm sorry." He apologizes again, frowning.

I sighed, feeling bad.

"It's okay," I replied. "And no, they're married."

"Oh! my bad." He apologizes for the thousandth time.

"Stop apologizing." I giggled.

"Okay." He responds, chuckling.

"So, do you know where we're going?" I questioned curiously.

"I assume it's planet Dalmenta. We have trade relations with them for things we can't get from either place." He answered.

"How are we gonna get there though?" I added, still confused.

"I honestly don't know. It's something about a triangle? Probably these oldies know." He replied, gesturing to the people on board. One of them that was sat next to him, gave him the side-eye, then returned to her newspaper.

Looked so young, yet, still acted like a normal old person who enjoy their newspapers.

"But aren't you old too?" I asked. "You guys don't age after all." He laughs at my response, his eyes crinkling.

"I'm 20, nearly 21."

Finally! Finally someone on this earth-like planet that's younger!

"Sorry, I'm not really familiar with this place much to meet people who are younger." I tell him, slightly embarrassed.

"Really?...how come?" He asks, eyeing me knowingly.

Sir, can you please not do that?

He is handsome though, so I'll let it slide.

But should I tell him?

"I'm from Earth."

Dang it, my mouth slipped again.

His eyes widened for a moment, then he quickly fixes his face. "Y-you aren't from here?"

"Nope, I came through the portal by the accident." I said, and he gave me a look I couldn't figure out.

"Oh! yeah, everyone gets annoyed whenever it opens. We always struggle to keep magic a secret, but it seems like you found out." He laughs, but it sounded more like nervous laughter.

The woman next to him nudges him gently, doing a gesture indicating him to end the conversation.

He nods and looks past me through the window.

That was weird.

He lifts up his hand and waves at someone. "My dad, in the middle there in the red shirt." He says, pointing at a man who looked like he was in his late 20s or early 30s, in human years.

"Why isn't he on this ship with you?"
I wondered.

"He's a Frégneuish. He's from Frégneux."

Wait, is that similar to France? So he's a French-American?

"On earth, we call his people, 'French people.' " from France."

"Tha-"

"Axil, hush." The lady next to him interrupted, turning over the page of her newspaper.

"Yes, mom." He obliged, looking down.

"Sorry." He said, and I just mumbled an, "It's okay." before pressing my arm against the window, my palm pressed against my cheek.

The people in this dimension are so weird.
