Chapter 7: The Portal
Lucky's POV
“Are you okay, Lucky?” Zaphael asked, perhaps noticing my reaction.
I nodded at him.
“Yes, I'm fine,” I responded, but the unconvinced one was on his face. Binalewala ko na lang 'yon.
“What happened to Sierra after that?” I asked, and Linglie answered.
“No one knows where she is now, maybe she is preparing for her return and vengeance.” I'm not sure why, but I felt pity and sadness for what happened to Sierra and her family.
“Because forbidden love can never end peacefully and happily.” I looked at Linglie as she spoke, nangunot ang noo ko dahil parang sinagot niya ang tanong sa isip ko.
“I can hear your thoughts.” I nodded because of what she said.
“Do you have any additional questions?” Jorvina asked, so I turned to face her.
“The most important question is, why are we here?” When I asked, Jorvina blinked an eye.
“Because you were summoned.” Because of what Jorvina said, Zaphael and I exchanged glance. We were even more perplexed as to why we had come to this world.
“Who summoned us? Why? Why us? With so many people in the mortal world, why us?” Next, Zaphael inquired, his face filled with confusion, as was mine.
“So far, we don't know, but I believe you will play an important role in Legendarria World.”
After Jorvina said that, I abruptly stood up.
“What the hell?! You have no idea? You claimed to be able to answer all of our questions. Why don't you know, huh? Are you kidding us? We must understand why we are here! That question must be answered!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice because we need to return to our world. They said they could answer all of our questions, but they didn't know how we got into this world.
“It is preferable to answer deep questions in your own way rather than simply asking.” Linglie said something meaningfully, and I fell silent.
She is right, everything you want to know cannot be answered just by simply asking because it is better for you to find the answer on your own.
“Do you have any additional questions? Because if you don't have anything, you can rest now because you'll come to me in the town market later in the afternoon,” When Jorvina said that, I pouted. Is she planning on making us shippers?
“The room for the both of you will be at the other end.” She added.
“What?! Are we in the same room?” Zaphael asked in shock, so I raised one eyebrow.
“No, at the end of the opposite room will be your room.”
“Wait, give me the book, please.” Nagtataka man, I handed her the book, and I was surprised when she threw it away. It floated and spun around before stopping and suddenly shrinking, the book shrinking to the size of a necklace pendant.
“Woah! That's cool!” Jorvina smiled and placed the small book in my hand.
“You can take better care for that book if you turn it into a necklace.”
I nodded in response to what she said. I'll no longer have trouble carrying that book, which is still quite heavy, kasing bigat ba naman ng isang sakong bigas. Damn it!
I stared at the book before hanging it from my necklace with its key pendant that Grandpa gave me when I was a child.
“I'm sure you won't lose that, AGAIN.” When Zaphael said that, I gave him a stern look. He even emphasize ‘again’ tsk! What was he saying? As if he was blaming me for nearly losing the book.
First and foremost, it wasn't my fault. I was so terrified of the monster in front of me that I didn't realize I'd already released the book.
“So, ano ang pinapalabas mo?” I raised an eyebrow at him, and Linglie stood between us, looking at us seriously, and because of that we both fell silent.
“That's enough. Go to your room and rest because we know you're tired from climbing the mountain,” While Zaphael nodded and walked away, I stared at Linglie. I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling about her. It's not bad, in fact, I feel very comfortable with her or something that heart fully respect her. “What?” She asked, I shook my head and walked to the room Jorvina had mentioned.
•••
“Where's Linglie? Hindi ba siya sasama?” When I saw that Linglie was the only one left, I asked Jorvina, and we are now outside their house.
I looked at the entire house and can say that it was very small, but the inside was wide and made of cement, which was the opposite on the outside because it was only made of wooden materials when viewed from the outside.
Likewise, I wondered because of that. How did that happen? Outside is a small house, but inside is very spacious?
“She's already at the bottom of the mountain,” Nag-taka naman ako sa sinabi niya. How fast did she go down the mountain? How did that happen? “Are you ready?” Jorvina ask, so Zaphael and I both frowned.
“Ready for what?” Zaphael asked, perplexed, but instead of Jorvina responding, she smiled and waved her hand, causing a round light to appear in front of us.
“What's that?” I asked with wide eyes, Jorvina entered that circle and then called us.
“Come on, don't worry, it's just a portal.”
Jorvina had already entered, so we followed but after we entered I almost felt dizzy because the portal was going round and round.
“Ahh! I had no idea it would be like this here! Ahhh!”
Fuck!
