Chapter 30: The Celestial Guardian
Lucky's POV
The woman with blonde hair vanished in an instant, as did the shield I created, and Jorvina returned to normal, moving as if she had never been a statue.
Why did she show up to me? What does she mean when she says no one will know I'm the Celestial Guardian? Sinabunutan ko ang sarili out of frustration.
"Oh? What is going on with you? Why are you tweaking yourself?" I took my hands out of my hair and looked at Jorvina, who had a surprised expression on her face.
"Nothing?" Tila nangangapa kong wika. When she exited Paterio, she draw another diamond shape and entered, and I followed her with confusion and questions in my mind.
When we got out, Linglie and Zaphael greeted us, Zaphael was smiling, which made me wince.
"How is the training going? Has she done it yet?" Zaphael seemed excited, whereas Linglie remained silent.
"She has, indeed, summoned the celestial spirit." When Jorvina said that, I was taken aback and shocked.
Have I been successful in summoning a celestial spirit? How did that happen? To the best of my knowledge, I have not summoned any celestial spirit. My eyes widened again, and Virgo said back to me.
"You are, indeed, the Celestial Guardian, but don't worry, no one will know."
Is this what she means when she says no one will know I'm a Celestial Guardian? I felt at ease because no one knew I was the Celestial Guardian and all they knew was that I was just a normal Celestial user, but I was terrified because I didn't know everything about my power. What am I going to do? Who will now train me?
"You don't have to be concerned, you don't need a trainer, Lucky, because you will learn with your own power, and we will guide you." I knelt to hear Virgo's voice in my head. Why do I keep hearing her voice? How?
"Because we are interconnected, Lucky." I was surprised when she answered the questions I had in my mind.
"What exactly do you mean?" I said it with only my mind.
"All creatures in the Celestial World are linked to you because you are our Guardian, and it is your duty as our Guardian to protect the Celestial World from the savage Legendarians, and our future and power depend on you, so use it wisely, or the balance of this world and the mortal world will be destroyed."
I shut my eyes. My problem is no longer just the survival of the two worlds and all living creatures, as it was previously. Not only that, but I'm not sure I can perform my duties, I don't know who I am or where I came from. I've never meet my parents.
"Lucky, are you okay?"
My duty is so heavy...
I was surprised when I bumped into someone, and when I saw who it was, the Prince of the Flare Kingdom, I gave him a bad look but frowned when I saw him jump a little.
"What the hell?! Are you blind? You're not paying attention to the road." He yelled at me, and my eyes constricted as a result of what he said.
"You also don't look because you would have avoided me if you had looked where you were going." I rolled my eyes and noticed how quiet he was; perhaps he thought he was wrong. When he couldn't take his gaze away from me, as if it was already glued, I frowned.
What is this man's problem?
"What are you thinking? Bakit parang wala ka sa sarili mo?" Because of his question, I remembered my big responsibility.
Because I am the Celestial Guardian for pete's sake!
"Nothing, I'm just tired of training." I replied sparingly, and he looked at me as if he didn't believe what I said. But I don't care about him!
"Okay, fine, if you think it would be better not to say. Just answer my question. The guy you're with, who is he in your life?" I raised an eyebrow in response to his question.
"Why are you curious?" I crossed my arms after he laughed at my question.
"Are you always this way? Another question will provide an answer to another question."
He suddenly stopped laughing and stared at me, and I slowly stopped laughing and smiled at him.
There was a long silence between the two of us, which was broken by the arrival of General Lyndon. I hadn't seen him in a long time.
"Welcome to the Dragon Village, Prince George." He paid his respects to the prince by bowing.
"I went to greet everyone." General Lyndon looked up and smiled as prince said it without emotion.
"Your Majesty, we're fine here." The General gave me a big smile as he looked at me, "Thank you so much, Lady Lucky, without you, my child would most likely be dead."
"What are you talking about?" The general smiled again after scratching his head.
"You rescued my son from the Dragon the other day." When I remembered that, I nodded. So that child turned out to be his son, which is why they look-alike.
"You welcome, but Dragon isn't bad either." I almost winced when he smiled again because the smile never left from his lips.
"What Dragon are you referring to? Is there something bad happen here?"
"Noong nakaraang araw ay may Dragon na biglang sumulpot dito, she is not one of the dragon we look after here. So, that's how she appeared and made a mess, the dragon could have stepped on my son, luckily Lady Lucky was able to save him," He paused for a moment before continuing. "As a result, I am extremely grateful to her." He smiled as he looked at me, so I smiled back.
"What else happened?" The General paused before looking at George, then scratched his chin.
Maybe he can't say the Dragon abducted me.
"The Dragon dragged me to the Volcano." The Prince's emotionless face was replaced by shock, and his eyes widened.
"W-what?! That's dangerous!"
The tone of his voice became so threatening that General Lyndon and I exchanged glances.
"Yes, it was dangerous and scary at first, but when I found out why the Dragon did that, I was happy and thankful because I finally found out that I belong here— I mean, my parents are still alive." I smiled bitterly as I remembered about that thing, another thing about my parents that troubled my mind and added to my questions.
"You are not with your parents?" They both asked at the same time, and I nodded sadly to both.
"I was only a baby when they left me with my Grandfather," I explained.
"We're sorry to hear that." George said, patting my shoulder.
"No it's okay, atleast now I can find them because I know they're alive." I smiled and he smiled back.
"I will help, I will find them by the sentinels throughout the Legendarria World." My eyes widened at what he said.
"Are you capable of doing that?" Unbelievably, I asked, and he nodded.
"Of course, I'm not Prince for nothing." He respond arrogantly, and I frowned; he'll never lose his arrogance.
"Lucky."
I turned to face the newcomer, Zaphael.
"What?"
"I've been looking for you for a while, I've almost gone around this entire place just to find you, but you're just here." He says, panting.
"What do you need? And wait, did I tell you that I will take a look around?" He glared at me because I was annoyed to ask him.
"Yes, but I was looking for you in case you got into another trouble!" His words made my brow furrow.
"You Kangaroo! Anong pinapalabas mo? That I'm always going to get into trouble? And, for the record, I don't like it, it's just that...that trouble is chasing me!"
"I'm not a Kangaroo at all! And, yes, you are always getting into trouble! I was just being cautious for a moment that something bad was happening." My eyes narrowed, then I hit him on the arm, he complained with too much force, and then I realized that I had grown stronger at the same time that my eyesight and hearing had improved.
"Why don't you just avoid from it?" He challenged me to look at him with one hand on his waist.
"Why should I avoid it if I can beat it?" I asked, smirking.
"That, that's the problem. You are too stubborn to avoid trouble even when you have the chance!" He yelled, and I straightened up and tried to match his height but he was really taller than me.
"And then what? Do you want me to simply let someone perish?" I asked angrily, he was upset due to the frustration.
"It's not like that but—I just mean kapag alam mong mapapahamak ka h'wag ka nang tumulong, not all the time you need to help others, sometimes, you also need to think about for yourself."
"Sorry, huh, because I'm not selfish like you." His eyebrows met.
"I'm not a selfish!" He shouted, so I hit him hard.
"Yes you are!"
"I'm not!"
"You're selfish!"
"I said, I'm not!"
"Are you two fighting?" The prince asked, Zaphael and I exchanged glances before shaking our heads.
"Of course not, we don't fight, this is how we really talk," I said as I turned to face Zaphael, rolling my eyes at him.
"Yeah, she's right," Zaphael added before looking at me.
"Are you sure? Why do we see that you two are fighting?" The General's question made me want to roll my eyes. Nakikita pala nila, bakit nagtatanong pa sila?
"We don't really fight, this is how we communicate." I winced, and George smiled awkwardly.
To be continued...
