CHAPTER SIX
●ACELIN●
I'd like to think I'm a fairly decent guy.
Which is why I'm going to get Camille to forgive me completely by making it up to her.
The question here is- how?
I'm skipping school, to clear my head.
I have no idea why I care so much about someone I just met and clearly doesn't give a shit about me.
I saw her write down stuff she needs.
To prepare for a job interview I'd assume.
Why does she need a job anyway? She can keep living with me for free.
Okay, that's it. I'm losing my damn mind.
The sun is scorching hot, blazing.
I walk to the center of the park, fall on the grass and stare at the sun.
Ignoring the fact that it'll ruin my eyes.
The park.
It had always been my spot. No one I knew ever came here.
Not Jace, not Cole, no one.
The environment was calm and serene. With elderly people taking strolls and engaging in light discussions, I was at peace.
That is, until I got stepped on by a pair of Nike's.
"Watch it!" I yelled, jumping off the ground and rubbing my eyes with the back of my palm "Are you blind?"
"Acelin? I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there. I got a little too engrossed in this song I was listening to."
"Camille? Of course it's you." I say, blinking rapidly
"Nice to see you too asshole. Shouldn't you be in school?" She says
"Shouldn't you be having a class?" I murmur.
"Class got cancelled, what's your excuse?" She says, a grin forming on her lips.
I sigh.
"Came out here to think."
"About you attempting to kiss me?"
Her words catch me off guard, but I dust my shirt and run my hands through my hair. I wasn't going to let her win whatever game she was playing at.
"I apologise, I didn't intend to kiss you. It was wrong"
"Good. Now that you've apologized and I don't completely hate your guts , let's have coffee?" She smiles.
"That sounds great."
***
She was strong.
That's what I liked about her.
She's definitely different from my general idea of women.
Not to mention she's completely uninterested in me and has made that clear over our cup of coffee.
Other than that, I had a decent time.
I decided to head over to Cole's apartment. Jace was there as well which meant his girlfriend was too.
I don't bother knocking on Cole's door when I arrive, it's most likely open.
I twist the doorknob and my instincts are correct.
He has no sense of security and calls it "fast living."
Pretty stupid if you ask me, but that's Cole.
"Look who's here!" Jace yells from the living room.
I walk over to the living room and spot nothing less than six people.
Cole, Jace, Cole's girlfriend- Riley and three other girls I had never seen in my entire life.
"Meet Cassie, Jamie and Amy." Jace laughs.
"Girls, meet Ace." he said, motioning to me.
I forgot to add they were triplets.
"Nice to meet you Ace." they say in unison which honestly freaked me out a little.
Although they were the hottest triplets I'd ever seen.
Blond silky hair and dark blue eyes which made you turn around and look twice.
"I'm bored." The triplet I'll assume is Cassie whined. "Let's do something."
"I second that motion." Jace said, raising a hand "Ace, give us ideas"
"Truth or dare is never a bad idea." I suggest.
"But that's a kids game, let's do something wild." one of the triplets says, twirling a strand of hair between her fingers.
"Okay everyone, hold up. Before this get's more weird than freaky, Riley and I are heading to my room. Ignore any funny sounds or moans." Cole teases, causing Riley to punch his arm.
They both head inside so it's Jace, the triplets and I.
I notice one of the triplets wasn't talking much. Jace had already gotten the other two interested in whatever he was going on about.
"Jamie, am I correct?" I ask, scooting over to her. "Are you okay?"
She turns around to face me, staring at me like she couldn't believe the words that just spewed out of my mouth.
"A-are you talking to me ?" She stutters.
Her awkwardness makes my lips curl into a smile.
"Yeah , I am. Is that a problem?"
"NO! I mean, no." she relaxes . "I just wanted to make sure. Nice of you to ask, I'm okay thank you."
"Want to head outside for a bit? Get some air. I'll come with" I say, stretching out my hand to her.
She grabs it and gives me a slight smile "Thank you."
We walk to the balcony and I can tell that she's happy to breathe and be away from everything.
"Im tired of being the awkward sister." She says, her head turned away from me.
I decide against speaking.
letting her express herself and know someone's listening. Someone that understands.
"I'm not like Amy or Cassie. I don't like going for parties and getting drunk after a few shots. I don't like getting with random guys because i think they're hot. I don't like the idea of being a dumb blonde every guy thinks they can shag." She breathes.
"I feel like I have to be like them or no one would want me and it kinda sucks."
I take her and pull her into a hug because I can tell that's what she needed.
"I haven't known you for up to four hours but, I'm a good judge of character." I laugh "I think you're amazing."
She looked at me with glistening eyes and tightened the hug.
"Why would you open up to a total stranger anyway?" I laugh.
"I have no idea but I'm pretty glad I did. It's nice to let off some steam once in a while."
In some weird way I was proud of myself.
I made the right choice.
I hardly ever did.
"ACE! JAMIE!" Cole yells from the living room.
Well, that was a quick shag.
"We should probably head inside before they start assuming things" Jamie laughed.
We walk inside and everyone's laughing and a little bit drunk.
"Riley and Ace both of you need to stay and make stuff we can eat since only both of you have the slightest idea of how to cook." Cole laughs.
"The rest of us are going to get more drinks and snacks. Are you in Jamie?"
"Sure." she smiles as they head out and Cole leaves the front door open.
Of course he does.
"So, what are we making ?" Riley asks.
"I have no idea. Be warned that I have no idea how to cook." I say , dropping on the sofa.
"That's okay, I'll go make pasta. Cole's favourite."
Riley heads towards the kitchen and I decide to watch television.
Nothing good is on so I result to watching the news.
Fifteen minutes in and I'm already sleepy.
Great.
"ACE! I need some help please !" Riley calls out from the kitchen.
I turn off the television to go and see what Riley needs.
What greets me is Riley naked in the kitchen.
"Now, I have you all to myself." She says, slurring her words.
Cole is definitely going to hate this.
