Overwhelming feelings

"Where are they?" Mr. Min felt impatient.

"I am sending you the address. Okay, I'll talk to you later. I am in my office."

"Bye, thank you again." After cutting the call Mr. Min checked his phone.

After near 20 minutes, he was in front of a house. It was smaller than they used to have. But it looked neat and clean. Then he saw someone is coming towards the house from the opposite side. He panicked and hid. He saw a young man around Jin's age press the bell. And someone opened the door and hugged him. Mr. Min saw her face. It was Nina, his wife, whom he missed so much. "She is still so beautiful. That smile, I missed her so much... Oh, that must be my son, no our son. I can't see his face." He thought. After some time, the boy came to close the door and Mr. Min get a glance at his face. Tears trailed down his face. "He has changed a lot. But his eyes, a smile is still the same, as his mother... Wait, I saw him somewhere. But I can't remember." He wanted to hug his son, tell him that He was sorry for not being there for him. But he did not have the courage.

"I'll come back tomorrow. I don't want to scar them by suddenly standing in front of them after so many years." He went back home.

"Dad, where did you go? I brought some brownies for you. But when I returned home uncle said that you went somewhere without telling. I was worried for you, dad. I even tried to call you on phone. But it was switched off. I thought you left me alone again." Jin said hugging his father. He remembered the time when his father left him with Hobi's family to go somewhere and came back after a year. At first, Jin waited for him to come back. Then he lost his hope, he thought his father left him alone. I could not handle the pain. He cried every night and his uncle, aunty, and specially Hobi comforted him, showered him with love and care. They became his family. He could not remember his real parent's faces. Mr. Min was his uncle. He was Jin's mother's friend. But when he took Jin with him, he became Jin's father, his everything. Jin never felt alone. He became Jin's world. After so many years Jin did not want to feel left again, did not want to lose his family again.

"Don't worry Jinie, I'm here. I'll never leave you alone. You're so dumb Jinie. You're my son. How can I leave you?" He broke the hug and cupped Jin's cheeks. He could not see Jin cry. He was not less than his son Yoongi. Jin felled the emptiness of his heart.

"Ah, this scene melted my heart. Now, dramatic father-son duo, you come here. If not, I'll eat these delicious brownies alone." It was Mr. Jung.

"Don't you dare? My Jinie brought them for me. I can give you one, not more than that." Mr. Min wiped his eyes and smiled.

"What about me and Hobi?" Mrs. Jung said from afar.

"You two can have how many your heart wants." They all smiled and laughed. But Hobi's eyes were on Jin all the time. He could not believe what he heard from his parents about Jin's past last night. He did not know his best friend went through so much pain. He wished he could be there with him to ease Jin's pain.

After some time, Jin's phone rang. It was Kook.

"Hello, Kookie!... But it's not the time yet. There is one hour more... But... Okay, give me five minutes to get ready." Ji cut the call.

"Is it time for your rehearsal already?" His father asked.

"No dad, Kookie wanted to show me something. So, he is coming early to get me."

"Okay, go enjoy your time. I also have something to discuss with your uncle." Mr. Min smiled and Jin went to get ready.

"Kook is getting my nerve. I'm letting him enjoy this time because I have more important things to do. I have to go to Jimin." Hobi thought. "I'm going to my friends too. See you later." He said and went past the other and ran out through the door.

After ten minutes, Kook came and Jin went out with him.

"I'm so excited to listen to their song. I heard from Hobi that Yoongi is a very talented music producer. He can play the piano well too. I want to invite him and the others to our house and get to know them." Mrs. Jung said sipping on her tea.

"Is this Yoongi my son? If it's true, how can I face him? It's not true, I wish. They must be different people." Mr. Min Sighed.

(Invisible Camera shifted to JinKook)

"Where are we going, Kookie?" Jin asked as they are on the road to Yoongi's house.

"It's secret! Let's grab something sweet first." Kook said with a fond smile.

"Let's buy some cotton candy and hot Choco. It's my treat! Okay?" Jin said tugging Kook's shirt.

"Okay."

They brought the stuff and went to Han River. A place with trees, bushes. A soft wind was blowing. They sat on the river bank. "Wow, Kookie, this is so beautiful. Thanks for bringing me here." Jin was so amazed by the beauty.

"It's my favorite place, Jinie. It's like my friend. I wanted to bring you here and have some little talk."

"I'm feeling special!"

"Yes, you're to me, I mean to us." Kook looked away. "By the way, I want to ask you something. I mean, we're friends for a while. But we barely understand each other."

"That's true Kookie. I feel it too. Okay, you ask me anything you want to know."

"You can ask me anything too. Okay?"

"Yes, Kookie!" There was an awkward silence.

"Jinie, why do you live with Hobi?"

"Oh, because my dad lives overseas most of the time, and I don't have a mom or other family members. So, dad requested uncle and aunty to take care of me. Dad didn't want to leave me alone in the house. To be honest, I have so many memories in my heart. Some are happy and some are painful. My childhood was not like most of you guys." Jin lowered his head to hide his tears. But the afternoon sun rays were adding sparkles to his tears.

"Don't hide your tears, Jinie. It's okay to cry. We're friends. You can open your heart to me if you feel like I'm worth it." Kook sat close to Jin and wrapped his arms around Jin's shoulders.

"I did not know you're this much soft-hearted Kookie." Jin was amazed by the comfort Kook gave him.

"Everyone misunderstands me first. If anyone tries to dig deeper, I'm not that bad, you know?"

"I know now Kookie. Can I trust you then?"

"Yes, Jinie, always! You can count on me."

"Thanks, Kookie. I could not tell these things to Hobi. Because he was my only friend. I was afraid that I would lose him if he knows my past. You'll stay by my side, right?"

"Yes, always. Now say whatever you want to say and free those memories to fill the space with happiness."

"I'm trying. You know, my childhood was not happy at all before I met my dad. Oh, you guys don't know that my dad is not my real father. He was my mother's friend. He tried his heart out to make me forget everything and take care of me. I don't know about his past. But I tried to live, to feel the hope of better days holding his hand. He is an angel to me. But sometimes I think I ruined his life. I don't know if he had a family or not, but after I made my way to his life, I sensed that he sacrificed so much for me. But I never tried to know his secrets. I was afraid to lose him, the only person I had then. I feel guilty now. Do you think I'm selfish, Kookie?"

"No, Jinie you're not. You're the most selfless person I have ever seen. Back then you were a child, Jinie. I child who had a painful experience with the world around him. He just wanted to be happy, to be loved by someone. More than that, a child can't read anyone's heart. So don't blame yourself. I... no... we all are here for you now. You have so many people who love you. You deserve to be happy. Okay?"

"Yeah, I have you guys now. You are the most beautiful gift I got from God. But..." Jin felt like he can't handle the overwhelming feeling, that was flowing inside his heart. The feeling filled with sadness, pain, warmness, happiness. He could not name that. He hugged Kook and cried his heart out on Kook's chest. His heart felt light like stone blocks were removed from his chest.

Kook hold him but didn't say anything. He just stroked Jin's hair gently. "I knew you have many things hidden in your heart. I want to help you to forget them and be happy. I don't know what is my feeling towards you, but I know for sure that I want you to be happy. You deserve it, Jinie. I'll be the shoulder for you to lean on. I want to be your diary." He thought.

After hearing soft sobs from the other, he snapped out from his thought. "Jinie, do you want to practice today or I drop you at your house? I mean, I can understand your situation. If you don't want to, you can rest for today." Kook asked softly with concern.

"No, Kookie. I want to practice. I love the song. I want to sing from my heart. I want to free my pain through singing."

"Okay then, let's go. Let's be happy, let's smile again!" Kook stood up and offered his hand to Jin.

Jin wiped his tears and held Kook's hand to stand up.

"Thanks, Kookie!" Jin said with puffy glossy eyes.

"Don't you dare to thank me, Jinie! One more thing..."

"What is it?"

"You know, you look handsome and beautiful and cute usually..."

"Wow, so many compliments..." Jin giggled.

"Ah, let me finish!" Kook said faking anger.

"Okay okay!"

"So, you are beautiful but you look ugly when you cry!" Kook said and ran away.

"Yayyyy! Kookie. Stop there. I'll kill you! You know what, you always look ugly. You, ugly frog!" Jin chased him. They stopped out of breath.

"You can give me your cotton candy as a 'thank you." Kook snatched Jin's cotton candy and ran again.

"I'm going to kill that brat for sure. Give that back, Kookie!" He ran after Kookie again.

"Take it back if you can, angry tomato!" Kookie teased him.
