Chapter 3: General Student Council

He kept himself silent, allowing the voices from within the conference room to converse with each other. The now seven members formed together the General Student Council.

Two remain empty. The Vice President and the Chief of Defense. And from where Rin had sat, it made sense she would sit where the President should be.

She was the Acting President, after all.

"So the Replacement's finally here, hm?" Asked a white haired member with tan skin. She wore a black dress shirt with a white vest, alongside a night blue colored tie and a pair of white trousers. A jacket hung on her right shoulder, her golden eyes staring at Kize's icy blues. His eyes drifted ever so slightly to the badge attached to her vest.

'Haine.'
'Chief of Physical Education.'

"He looks boring," commented the pink haired twin tailed girl. Two tiny black horns with mint colored tips adorned the top of her head, and a black tail that resembled a demon stretched out behind her.

'Momoka.'
'Chief of Transport.'

Their comments were left unanswered, just a singular blink their way, as if telling them outright that he didn't care about what they think.

"... Okay, serious question, why do we need a Replacement?" Asked a small figure with white hair and orange eyes. She had tan skin, like Haine, yet had long, messy twin tails like Momoka. She seemed lethargic, yawning soon after while struggling to keep herself sit straight.

'Sumomo.'

No labels. So she's under someone.

Rin heaved a sigh, before looking towards Kize. He said nothing, as usual. Like a status quo of insults thrown his way, and this was the norm.

"We need a Replacement, because the schools are most likely needing direction. Needing guidance."

Rin's eyes were kept focus on Kize, resting her elbows on the table while clasping her hands together.

"He has the credentials. Or at least, the ones we need."

"So you're saying he might have other skills we didn't account for?" Haine questioned.

"Likely, but they don't matter." Rin shut her down quickly.

"So what is in his documentation, then--"

"So how is Sensei actually?"

The room fell silent. Not a single soul within the room expected Kize to speak. And with how he was eyeing every single member of the GSC, it was clear they shouldn't walk around that issue.

"Severe injuries." Spoke another navy blue haired girl in a bob cut, who sported a white dress shirt gloves and skirt that reached her ankles. She had a mole beneath her left eye. "One that was enough to put him into a coma, especially after the invasion."

'Oki Aoi'
'Chief of Finance.'

Economical with her words.

"And the real reason you need a replacement."

Not a question from Kize. A statement. His tone never changed. His voice never raised. And yet, it was a challenge. A manner of which required a response.

"Our Vice President has taken over our President's seat ever since she disappeared. We don't know what happened to her, nor do we know why she was gone," explained Aoi, glancing at Rin.

So Rin was the Vice President becoming the Acting President, Kize concluded. Aoi continued.

"Sensei came to make the peace."

"And besides that, there's Kaya, the Chief of Defense who overthrew us and tried to make herself a dictator because she doesn't understand how it's like being the President of the GSC. It didn't work out as much as she hoped, relegating to Kaiser Corporation's help." Haine scowled. "Sensei brought her down with the students. And then, the invasion--"

"I'm asking for a reason you need a replacement, not a backstory."

A rejection of platitudes. One that quickly brought them reeling. Kize didn't change his expression at the slightest, and just as he pried his mouth to speak again, someone else did.

"We needed a figurehead." A blonde girl spoke out softly. She a blue crystal on her forehead and wore a white sheath-like dress with a blue tie and white heels. Black wings were attached to the back of her waist, wrapped around her when she sat.

'Iwabitsu Ayumu'
'Executive Officer's Secretary'
'Member of GSC Arbitration Office'

"Someone to keep the peace. At least until Sensei fully recovers."

"And the credentials?" Kize questioned.

"Truthful. We were genuinely looking for someone like you. Rejected, but still trying."

"Honestly, his rejection might be because he has a funny name," Momoka interjected. "What kinda name is Kize Seikato, anyway? That's not a name."

"Is it?"

The room immediately felt heavy. And Kize felt it. A shifting dynamic that forces them to look into themselves. Kize simply blinked again, before he stood up.

Not to leave, but simply to state.

"If you need a figurehead, very well. But understand that I won't obey everything you tell me to."

"..... Very well." Rin complied. A beep noise was heard behind her, causing everyone to stand up in turn.

Kize expected complaints. Inquiries. But perhaps in that moment, there was a hierarchy of priority.

"The live news recording will soon begin."

"Replacement Sensei, the students are going to need to see you."

Kize's eyes didn't change, but he stood up. And soon, he made his way to the camera.
