Please Forgive Me

^^Snape > Ginny^^

"It seems like Mr Potter has got himself a young lady." Minerva smiled, "indeed." Snape replied as he looked over to see Ginny kissing Harry. "Highly inappropriate behaviour for the breakfast table, some of us are eating." He groaned, "Oh calm down Severus, do you not remember what it was like to be young and in love?" Minerva chuckled, regretting instantly what she just said. "Severus...I...." She began as he rose from the table and left the hall quickly, leaving his breakfast uneaten. "You can take your foot out of your mouth now Minerva." Dumbledore chuckled, the old witch however didn't see the funny side and shot him an icy glare.

Ginny saw Snape leave the hall looking upset and decided to go after him and check if he was alright, she headed straight to the dungeons in the hope she would find him there. She knocked on the door of the potions classroom and entered as she heard no reply, that's when she saw him sat at his desk with his head in his hands, "leave me alone." He sneered without even looking up to see who it was, Ginny heard anguish in his voice, she heard him sniffing and realised he was crying, She walked straight towards him, "Professor?" She spoke gently, He raised his head as he recognised her voice and leapt up from his seat, he pulled her towards him and began sobbing into her robes. "Hey, it's ok....I'm here..." She soothed, gently kissing the side of his head as he reminded buried in her shoulder.

After he calmed down and regained his composure he backed away from her, smiling gently.
"Thank you." He sighed, "what for?" She grinned cheekily, "for being my shoulder to cry on... Literally." He smirked, laughing even though his eyes were still red and swollen. "Always." Ginny smirked in response, "w-what did you say?" He asked knowing full well what she said but needing to here it again. "I said always, Professor." Ginny blushed, "Severus. Call me Severus from now on... We're there." Snape laughed. "So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong Severus?" He nodded, and led her through to his private chambers. Ginny took a seat and waited for him to begin. "It was something Miner... Professor McGonagall said. She reminded me of someone I loved many years ago, who died." He explained, "I'm so sorry. I'm sure Professor McGonagall didn't mean to upset you." Ginny smiled gently, resting her hand on Snape's knee. He shuddered at her touch."I know, it just threw me a little." Snape replied. He couldn't go into it further, not yet.

"How are things with Potter?" Snape asked, trying not to bad mouth the boy this time. "Well, we are kind of together as of yesterday." Ginny explained, looking to study Severus' reactions.
"I'm happy for you." He lied, "You are?" Ginny asked in surprise, "You're happy, I can't ask for more than that." Snape explained, cautiously. It took every bit of strength he had to not just say 'Actually Ginny, I'm not happy because I'm hopelessly in love with you.'
"Do you have no classes this morning?" Snape inquired with narrowed eyes and a playful grin.
"I should be in Charms class, but I saw you were upset. And I think your welfare is more important, worst that could happen is Flitwick giving me detention." "Well you had better go now, I am fine. Thanks to you." Snape smiled, pulling her into a tight hug. After she left he thought to himself how lucky he was to have her in his life.... He just wished that she was more than a friend.

It was a well known fact that Snape detested every single student at Hogwarts, he made sure to make their minuscule lives hell for the pleasure of it. And just because he felt differently when it came to Ginny, he was not planning to stop being a greasy git anytime soon.
He was on his way to see the headmaster when he bumped into Harry, "Potter, why do you always seem to be where you're not supposed to be?" He scowled at the spectacle wearing boy.
"I am where I'm supposed to be Professor Snape, on my way to transfiguration class!" Harry snapped, he disliked the dungeon bat even more after he saw his true intentions in the forbidden forest. "You will not speak to me that way Potter! you're just an arrogant turd like your father!" Snape seethed into the chosen one's face. "Don't you dare bring my father into this! My father was not the swine you described him as last year! YOU sir are the swine! I know you're working for Voldemort and I know you're after Ginny, but she is MINE!" Harry told Snape aggressively, causing Snape to see red. "You know nothing, I don't like Miss Weasley in the slightest! She's just an insufferable idiot like her brothers, I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot barge pole! I think that you need to loose your attitude Potter, for I would take great pleasure in destroying you...." Snape drawled slowly, pronouncing every word sharply and clearly. Harry barged past him and continued on his way leaving Snape stood there seething.

Snape began to calm himself down when he looked up, and Ginny stepped out of the shadows with tears in her eyes, "I'm an insufferable idiot? Is that what I am to you?" She spoke, before turning on her heels and running away in tears. Snape was horrified that she heard the conversation. His heart ached inside knowing he had hurt her, he had to find her and make it right.
