Three days had passed and Ginny was sat in the Gryffindor common room listening to her brother Ron moan about how Harry was always the centre of attention. "Ron, I've got to go." Ginny sighed, she was bored to death of Ron's constant jealousy towards Harry. He was his best friend and he should understand the load Harry has to carry every day with everything that was happening.

"Where are you going? It's after dark you will get caught!" Ron groaned, "look, there's just something I need to see too." Ginny explained. "What exactly?" Ron asked, he didn't like his sister keeping secrets and he was determined to find out the truth. "Well if you must know... I kind of got myself a detention with Snape." Ginny lied. "What did you do?" Ron gasped, "I might have told him to keep his greasy hair out of my business when he confronted me about something!" She lied for a second time. "You said what? Ginny that's fucking brilliant I'm so proud of you!" Ron cackled hysterically. "Yes, well now I have to pay for my sins Ronald." Ginny snorted and left as fast as possible.

'This is stupid, why am I lying about my reasons to see Severus? He's my friend. I shouldn't have to lie about it! who am I kidding of course I need to lie about it...' Ginny thought to herself sadly. Ginny hated what was happening to her, she was becoming the girl she never wanted to be... A cheater.
Of course she hadn't done anything with Severus, and they were simply just friends but deep inside she felt things for him that a girl with a boyfriend shouldn't. And she felt guilty.

She arrived at the potions classroom and the thought of turning back did cross her mind for a brief second, but she couldn't fight her urge to knock at the door. Once she knocked she heard his voice from inside, "come in." He snapped, Ginny snorted to herself, he was always such a miserable git to most people. She entered and his eyes flicked up from his book and met hers, he uncomfortably scrambled to his feet.
"Ginny... Ginevra." He spoke awkwardly as he straightened his robes. "I was wondering.. If you would like... I mean you don't have to but, the other day I suggested tha.." He pushed his fingers to her lips to silence her. "I would like nothing more than to  'hang out' as you call it." He chuckled. Ginny relaxed a little and suggested they go for a walk.

"Where would you like to go my lady?" Severus joked, causing Ginny to laugh. "The boat house maybe? I think that's the perfect place." Severus nodded. They walked to the boat house and Ginny stood taking in the view for a Moment. "It's beautiful isn't it?" Ginny smiled, the moonlight bouncing off her face. "Not as beautiful as you." Severus blushed, he knew he was taking a risk being so open about his feelings. Ginny turned and looked at him with her heart in her throat and her palms sweating.

"Severus.... I..." "You just want to be friends I know. I just had to be honest as I do not feel comfortable lying to you Ginevra." Severus explained, partly trying to make her look less uncomfortable and also partly to save a little face. "No, you're wrong." Ginny explained, placing a hand on his arm. He looked at her soft hands resting soon his sleeve and then up at her. "The truth is Severus, I feel the same way. I want to be with you so much." "Then give me a chance Ginevra, believe me I would never hurt you. I would give my last breath to protect you." Severus pleaded bringing his hands up to hold her face.

He brought his lips to hers gently, as light as a feather, his kiss was delicate and showed her he demanded nothing but her heart. As he pulled away slowly he scanned her face for any sign of emotion. "I want this... I want you." She whispered lovingly, stroking his face. "It's just..." She continued and Severus dropped his head, as he felt the rejection coming. "I cannot cheat on Harry. I am not that type of girl, I need some time to end it with him. And I cannot kiss you again until I have done so." Severus' eyes lit up as he realised she had chosen him. "I understand, I will wait." He smiled. "Thank you for understanding... I need to find the right moment and I don't know when that will be." She explained. Severus knew that would mean he would still see her with him, him kissing her and holding her. Just imagining it drove him insane. "I will wait Ginevra, I promise. Just be sure to know that I may not be able to control my jealousy."
