^^Snape > Ginny^^

The hall was buzzing as usual at lunch time, the sound of laughter and chatting. Ginny poked at her food with her head resting on her left hand. Snape watched as Potter kept glancing her way, before whispering something to Longbottom.

"Somethings wrong with Ginny, she's been like that all day." Harry whispered. "She looks upset about something that's for sure, why don't you just ask her?" Neville replied. "Later maybe, I don't think now is the time with everyone around." Harry sighed. "You like her don't you?" "Neville, that's beside the point." Harry blushed. "Your secrets safe with me Harry, wouldn't want Ron finding out!" Neville laughed. Harry watched her intently, Hermione caught his eye and she smirked at him, 'great, Hermione knows too.' He thought to himself.
Ginny looked towards the staff table and watched Professor Snape as he took a sip from his goblet. 'Why was he so nice to me? I'm a Weasley, and everyone knows he hates us.' She wondered, her eyes not leaving him for a second. His eyes locked on to hers and she looked away quickly, trying to conceal her blushes. 'That was awkward.' She gulped, and retuned to poking at her food.

The day went by fast, And the 6th and 7th years piled into the potions classroom. Once seated they waited for Professor Snape to arrive. He didn't keep them waiting too long as the door swung open and he stormed in coming to a halt at the front of the class. "Today, we are going on a little field trip." He said with a smirk. "We will be going into the forbidden forest foraging for ingredients, Dumbledore doesn't think it a good use of our time. I however disagree. So grab your things and follow me." He ordered hastily, swishing out of the room. Everyone followed behind him full of excitement, apart from a few that were more apprehensive. "Professor!" Ginny called out trying to catch up with him. "Yes, Miss Weasley?" He replied still walking fast. "I'm a little worried, the forbidden forest is just that, forbidden. I don't want anyone to be in any danger." She explained, Snape turned to her as he walked and saw the worry on her face.

"I'm sure everyone will keep themselves safe Miss Weasley. You needn't be afraid I'd never let anything hurt you." His eyes locked on hers and she felt a warmth come over her body, it was like a big cuddle. She felt a lot less worried, 'why would he want to protect me?' She thought, 'maybe because I care for you.' His voice entered her head, he must have read her mind and answered her directly. Ginny felt totally embarrassed and tried to keep him out of her thoughts.
She had frozen on the spot, and watched as the group got further and further away. "Hurry up Miss Weasley!" Snape boomed, knocking her right out of her trance like state. She ran along to catch up with the group.

When they arrived at the forbidden forest, Snape gathered them around in a meeting point. He removed a green neck tie from his pocket and tied it around a small tree. "This will be where we meet." He began, "If you are in danger you will cast as SOS spell, you will be partnered up for safety reasons. Is that understood? You can pick a selection of herbs and ingredients of your own choosing, then I will be requiring an essay on said items and their uses. Now go." He drawled and everyone began to find a partner. Harry went straight to Ginny's side which didn't go unnoticed by Snape, "Ginny will be accompanying me Mr Potter." He told the chosen one slowly.

"Who am I supposed to pair up with? We are the last two!" Harry told Snape standing his ground, "Fine, you two go together. I can assure you though I will be watching over you!" Snape spat. "Why? We don't need to be under surveillance!" "Yes Potter you do, because trouble seems to follow you around!" Snape seethed backing Harry up against a tree and bringing his face inches from his. "That's not the real reason is it Professor? You just want Ginny all to yourself. I see the way you look at her!" Harry screamed pointing his wand at Snape. "You are an arrogant coward just like your father! I recommend that you lower your wand, for your own safety." His voice was cold and chilling, Ginny was confused by what what happening, she didn't want to see Harry and Professor Snape at loggerheads over her. The reason being she didn't know who she wanted the most, yes she had feelings for Harry. She always had, but this past year...there was just something about Severus Snape that captivated her.

"Lets go Gin!" Harry smirked at Snape, grabbing Ginny's arm and walking deep into the woods together. Snape paused for a moment to collect his thoughts, 'Potter is right, I do want her for myself. I can't help myself.' He pinched the bridge of his large hooked nose and scolded himself for being stupid enough to want her, what chance did he have against the precious chosen one.
"Another love, another fucking Potter." He spat in frustration.

Snape followed the two into the forest, casting an invisibility charm on himself. He wanted to hear them talking not just watch from a distance. "Harry, that was uncalled for." Ginny told him with a look of annoyance on her perfect face. "He deserved it, he's after you Ginny. And I don't like it." He moaned, behind down to pick some herbs. He passed them to Ginny and she placed them in her pouch. "What has it got to do with you? It's not like we're together Harry." "I know that, but I just don't trust the guy. You're my friend Gin, I don't want to see you get hurt." Harry explained combing her red hair behind her ear. Snape was about to burst with the fury he felt, he couldn't bare to see Potter touching Ginny. His Ginny. He soon relaxed as Ginny moved away from Harry to continue searching, 'this girl is going to be the death of me.' He thought to himself desperately. There was no more uncomfortable moments as Harry didn't approach her in that way again, Snape felt a pan of relief. He still knew she had feelings for the boy though, she always has, she never concealed it well.

Snape backed up back from where he came from as it was nearly time to meet up with the group. Once he arrived back at the tree with the green tie he used his wand to reverse his invisibility spell. He turned around to see Ginny standing there with her mouth agape in horror, she knew he had been following her. "Don't sneak up on me, girl!" He boomed causing Ginny to take a step back, "I apologise, you startled me. That's all." He told her gently trying to diffuse the tension. She smiled at him gently and turned around watching as Harry waltzed up to her glaring at Snape. Ginny rolled her eyes, men!
