If Loving You Alone Is Wrong...
^^Snape > Ginny^^
"He thinks I'm beautiful.' She thought to herself at breakfast the next day. She looked up to get his attention as he sat at the staff table but she was met with his trademark scowl. It didn't seem to bother Ginny though, she knew he didn't hate her. In fact, she was starting to believe what Harry said in the forbidden forest was true.
So now two people wanted her, one the boy she had adored for years who is now single after breaking up with Cho. And the other a man who has been in her thoughts since last term.
Both equally as out of bounds as the other.
She felt good knowing they both found her attractive, but there was always that inner nargle that would make her not really believe it. Her self confidence was non existent after years of Lavender Brown's bullying.
Snape paced up and down in the potions classroom awaiting the 6th and 7th years, glaring at them one by one as they entered. His blood boiled when he saw Ginny choose to sit next to Harry, but there was nothing he could do about it. She looked perfect as always, her long red hair falling over her shoulders fluidly. Snape found it difficult to think of anything else, there were times when he couldn't sleep at night he would think of her, rehearsing conversations in his head, remembering small things about her, anything that could help him win her heart. He would give everything he owned to have her, but deep down he knew it was impossible.
The lesson seemed to fly by, only 3 mishaps occurred during the class. One was Finnegan as always, the other was Lavender brown's potion exploding. Severus ginned evilly as he asked himself 'I wonder how that happened?'. He gave her detention for a week and was thoroughly enjoying making the little bitches life hell. Some people would call his behaviour unprofessional, and some would call it devious but Snape couldn't give a flying fuck. In his opinion she deserved everything that was coming to her and more, nobody hurts his Ginny.
Even if she wasn't really 'his'.
After the class finished Snape kept Ginny behind, he was becoming increasingly jealous about her 'friendship' With Potter. "What is it you want to talk about Professor?" Ginny asked nervously as he had kept her behind but said nothing for at least 5 minutes, it was rather unnerving. "Miss Weasley... I want you to know that I am not one for caring in the slightest about any of you dunderheads, however this is of great importance." He explained, Ginny nodded and took a few steps closer to him to show he had her attention. "Keep away from Potter, he is no good for you." "Professor, there is nothing going on between me and Harry not that it's any of your business!" Ginny groaned. "It is my business when it puts you in danger Ginevra, the boy is wanted by he-who-shall-not-be-named and I can assure you he would happily kill anyone who stands in his way!" Snape sneered, becoming frustrated. "Like I said, we're just friends." She assured, but Snape wasn't having any of it. "I know you like him, and I know he has an interest in you. Don't. Lie. To. Me." He seethed.
"Ok it's true, I do have feelings for him. It doesn't change anything, we are not together!" She snapped. "Good, keep it that way." Snape ordered, leaving Ginny infuriated. It was none of his bloody business! "Just keep out of my affairs ok, what happens to me is no concern of yours!" She cried. Slamming the door behind her as she headed to transfiguration class, she was already late and dreaded the thought of McGonagall giving her detention with Filtch.
"Miss Weasley! You're late!" Professor McGonagall screeched as Ginny entered the classroom.
"Sorry Professor, only Professor Snape kept me behind to discuss some potions stuff." Ginny explained hoping he would bite, which she did. "Oh, very well take a seat. However please inform Professor Snape that next time she should write a note." The old witch ushered her along, Ginny was just glad she didn't get detention.
Snape felt terrible for upsetting Ginny but he couldn't bare to see her with Potter, he couldn't cope with knowing the danger that would put her in. 'You're doing it again Severus, you're pushing her further into his arms. Just like you did with Lily.' He thought to himself, he sighed and begged Merlin to have pity on him.
Later that day at dinner he watched her as she sat with the insufferable idiots. She looked sad and he wondered if it was because of him, 'who am I kidding? Of course it's all because of me.' He groaned. She caught his eye for a second and he could see what he had done, her look was one of distain and confusion. He noticed she wasn't even really chatting with her friends, she was more interested in chasing a pea around her plate with her fork. He wanted to apologise to her but he knew not to approach her, he could not be seen as weak.
