Chapter 10
"I want meat," said Lex, lying on his chaise longue with a glass of water in his hand and a face of utter resignation.
The butler walked over to him, covered Lex with a fur blanket, and said seriously, "The merchants haven't arrived yet."
Lex despaired, "Even if they do, they'll only bring stinky meat."
The merchants went to the farms to buy meat, then sold it to the various noble estates. There were no preservatives, and whether they could buy fresh meat depended on how far the farms were from the estates.
Unfortunately, Lex's territory was far from the farm, and he had eaten the cook's meat three days ago, and had been constipated for two days.
In the past, Lex only ate lean meat and never any fat.
Now Lex wanted to eat fat meat, because he felt that there was no oil in his stomach at all.
If he was given some braised pork, he would definitely drink up all the sauce.
The smelly meat is not at all delicious, even if the cook adds a lot of spices – after adding the spices, the smell and the fragrance are mixed together, and if it weren't because Lex is dying of hunger, he would never touch it, not even a little bit.
The price of salt is also very expensive here, so no one uses it for storage.
Smoking and drying will reduce the weight of the meat, so it is better to let the meat go bad.
Lex can't understand it very well. It's fine if it's less, but is it really still edible when it's so smelly?
The butler said, "If you want fresh meat, you have to go hunting."
Lex's eyes lit up, "Yes!"
The hunting equipment is a bow and arrow. The arrowheads are rusted, but they can still be used after polishing. These bows and arrows have to be reused, and after use they have to be collected again. This territory is really not very wealthy.
However, slaves definitely cannot go hunting. They have to cut trees, burn charcoal, and build warehouses in the same way they build houses.
So the only people who can go hunting are Lex, the steward, the two knights and Alwin.
"Do you know how to use a bow and arrow?" Lex asks Alwin. "Elves must all know how to use a bow and arrow, right?"
Alwin's brow furrows slightly.
Lex: "Don't you?"
In all the Western fantasy-type RGB games he plays, the elves use bows and arrows, and he thought that real elves also used bows and arrows as weapons.
Lex: "So what do you use to hunt?"
Alwin takes out a dagger.
The dagger was completely black, without a hint of a different color.
"What material is this made of?" Lex reached out to take it, but Alwin withdrew it.
Lex felt a little embarrassed, and it suddenly occurred to him that he hadn't asked Alwin's permission.
Alwin suddenly said, "You can't lift this dagger. It was left to me by my ancestors, and I know what material it's made of."
Lex didn't quite believe him. He wasn't exactly strong, but he was a young man in the prime of life, so how could he not be able to lift a dagger?
Alwin saw that he was determined, so he could only put the dagger on the table and let Lex take it himself.
Lex reached out his hand.
"It's a bit heavy," Lex said to Alwin.
Alwin smiled at him, raising his eyebrows.
Lex took a deep breath, rubbed his palms together, and continued to try.
Lex's face turned red, but he didn't manage to lift the dagger more than a centimeter.
Luckily, he didn't insist, and he let go of it, saying, "You try."
Alwin picked up the dagger with ease, spinning it around. Lex's eyes lit up, and he took two steps to get in front of Alwin, looking at him up close.
Seeing wasn't enough, so Lex went hands-on, placing his hands on the arm Alwin was holding the dagger in, kneading the muscles in his partner's arm. Alwin had very defined muscles, which made him look a little thin, but he was actually very strong.
Lex rubbed while praising, "You're amazing."
"What did you eat to grow up like that?" Lex blinked, "Can you take your clothes off?"
Alwin: "..."
Lex: "I want to see your muscles. Last time I didn't get a good look. Do you exercise a lot? How do you exercise? If I want to get in shape like you, how much time will it take?"
Alwin smiled, "If you want to see."
Then he took off his clothes, very decisively and neatly.
Lex carefully examined the other person's deltoid muscles and biceps. He was drooling as he looked, and he really wanted to have a body like that. However, because he played games all the time and didn't like to exercise, he wasn't fat, but he also didn't have muscles. He was a standard white chicken.
After being transported to this world, he did get some muscles, but compared to Alwin's, his muscles paled in comparison.
Unable to get enough of the view, Lex was about to touch them when he was interrupted by Elijah and Alex, who were ready to go hunting.
"My lord! We are ready! We will surely defeat the fiercest beasts!"
"Oh! My lord! What are you doing!"
"Oh my god! This elf is seducing the lord! He should be hanged!"
Elijah rushed at Alwin, trying to knock him over with his body, but before he could touch Alwin, Alwin threw him against the wall with one hand.
Lex shouted, 'Don't fight! I was just asking him how to train myself!'
But Elijah and Alex had already lost their minds. They looked at Alwin with bloodshot eyes, as if they wanted to bite a piece of flesh off him with their eyes.
Alwin dressed again, put away his dagger and said to Lex, "Don't worry about them, let them cool off here."
"You must be the devil! You've come to seduce the lord with your filthy body!"
Lex: "Not filthy, quite clean."
Elijah went crazy: "My lord! Your eyes are blinded by the devil! That's what they're best at!"
Lex: "..."
He felt that the two knights were getting worse and worse.
The final solution was to lock the two knights in the house.
Lex complained to Alwin with a headache: "It's always the same, I always run into this."
He was helpless, and he felt that he had not given anyone any hints.
Now he began to doubt whether he had indeed given them any hints.
Alwin patted Lex on the shoulder: "It's not your problem, let's go, go hunting."
Lex looked at him confusedly: "The knights are locked in the house, how can we go hunting?"
Alwin gave him a raised eyebrow and a smile. "What? Do we need them to go hunting? Are you looking down on me?"
Lex walked next to Alwin. "The woods are still dangerous, so maybe we should wait until the two of them are back to normal and then go..."
Lex's words were cut short when Alwin suddenly turned around.
Lex was startled, as he was pressed against the wall by Alwin, whose hand was placed next to his ear.
The two of them were very close.
Lex swallowed, as he could smell Alwin's scent.
It wasn't sweat, but a unique smell. It wasn't fragrant or foul, but it was very pleasant.
He could even count Alwin's eyelashes, which were long and thick, making his eyes even more beautiful.
Alwin's expression remained gentle, but his actions were full of oppression and aggression.
"Please trust me, my lord," Alwin said, taking Lex's hand.
While Lex was in a daze, he took Lex's hand and placed a kiss on the back of Lex's hand.
Lex was dumbfounded. He felt as if he had been electrocuted, a faint electric current that made his whole body tingle.
Before he could react, Alwin let go of his hand and drew away from him.
"Let's go hunting," Alwin said, smiling at him. "Don't you want to eat meat?"
"I wonder what kind of game there is in the forest."
Lex shivered and said like a good little student, "Then I'll trouble you."
When they left the castle, Lex was walking with a limp. He kept thinking about Alwin's kiss. He knew it was a hand-kiss, but it was the first time he had ever been kissed on the hand, and it felt really strange.
It seemed that the temperature and feel of Alwin's lips were still lingering on the back of his hand.
Alwin's lips were soft and warm.
Alwin: "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me?"
Lex, as if he had been caught cheating, lowered his head and whispered, "Nothing, let's go."
But the steward stopped Lex with all his might: "My lord, you cannot enter the forest without the protection of a knight! Even if I die here right now, as long as I am still breathing, I will not let you enter the forest!"
Lex was very helpless as he was held by the leg: "There is Alwin."
The steward glared fiercely at Alwin, then turned back to continue his sobbing: "My lord, this territory has already had four lords, and she cannot afford to lose you! You must not put yourself in danger! My lord, please have mercy on this land, the people of this land, and have mercy on me!"
Lex looked at the steward, who was in a complete state of tears, and then looked at Alwin.
Alwin shrugged towards him and spread his hands, saying, "I'll go alone, you stay."
Alwin laughed: "Otherwise the old guy might jump off the castle."
Butler: "Who are you calling old! You think you're young? ! When I was young, I was stronger than you!"
Alwin waved his hand and walked out of the castle gate. He only took a dagger and walked into the heavily wooded forest.
Seeing Alwin leave, the butler let go of Lex's legs and patted the dust and dirt off himself, becoming the stern and cold butler he was before.
It was as if the person who had just been crying on Lex's lap wasn't him.
"My lord, dangerous things like hunting aren't for you," the butler said. "You should be sipping fine wine and admiring the view of the territory."
Lex: "...Where's the fine wine?"
Butler: "There's wine. Would you like some?"
Lex reluctantly said, "Okay."
In another world, he had just turned 18 and hadn't drunk alcohol yet.
However, once he had the wine in his mouth, he said with a complex expression, "Is this really wine?"
The butler looked proud, "This is the wine of the Holy Court, it's very precious! The last lord spent two silver coins to buy a small bottle."
How could this be worth two silver coins?
His parents used to buy this inferior grape juice for him when he was a child, and even lied to him that it was wine.
Lex: "..."
Was it because the winemaking technology here was so poor, or was the butler also treating him like a child?
