A Hopeless Mind

Every turn in the labyrinth had brought me back here, to a place of solitude; a black hole where the slightest emotion did not exist. Where even the darkest, most twisted reveries that the mind could conjure up to escape reality would be easily snatched; and dissolution, their fate. There was no elusion from this mental cage. A two-faced demon helped me up from the coldness of death's floor; on one end very reassuring and on the other, my misery bleeding through the crevices of his soulless carcass. Could he not see that retrieving me from the brink of my demise was only but perpetuating it? Maybe he couldn't see the surrender that was etched onto my face like a regrettable tattoo; a curse forever engraved into my skin, the tragedy of a hopeless mind.
