"um guys another ship just arrived, i dont think i can buy you much time" Hunk said with worry into his com as he shot at the ships with his lion while the rest was inside the first ship.

"everyone get back to your lions now" shiro yelled over the com. 

"i just got the last prisoner in my lion, i come give you a hand hunk" keith yelled over his com. 

"we some more time, we have a bit of a problem" Lance siad with worry into his com. 

"we locked in a room, im hacking the lock now but it seems to have many traps installed" Pidge grunted over her com as she and lance was stuck inside the room. 

"we hold them back as long as we can but we dont know how long" hunk siad with worry. 

"you better use that brain of yours quickly pidge or we wont call you the brains anymore" Keith joked as he joined hunk in the fighting. 

"just dont get shot while i do the hard work" Pidge joked back. 

"let us know when you out and come back safely you two" Shiro siad with a kind  voice. 

"if you cant hold on anymore go back to the castle, we meet you three there soon" lance said in his calm voice before turning his com off.

"how we looking" Lance asked with a frown and he looks to the chain around his foot and to the lock door what Pidge is trying to hack open. "i unlock it and get us out of here" Pidge said determinded. "pidge, I'm not going anywhere with my leg like this, just use the vent and get out" Lance sighed turning away from her. "NO, I WONT LEAVE YOU LANCE .. NOT YOU" pidge yelled back and kicked the door. 

"pidge" Lance said in a soft voice, he knew they both weren't survive and didnt want his friend to die like him. "no" Pidge hissed and went back to hacking. "Pidge even if the door unlocks, how will you get this chain of my leg" Lance asked since it melted to his skin, he dried shooting part of the chain but the bullet just shot back at him hitting his arm. He was trapped and he gotten Pidge trapped with him. 

"I find a way, maybe I can find a way to block out the galra signal and make the chain relases you" Pidge said not really thinking since she just wanted to save him. "pidge I dont want to be the reason you die, please for me just go" Lance asked but Pidge didnt turn to him she just kept hacking. "you know i thought i always die on a farm with my wife at an old age after our three children were grown up and had their own children .. i didnt think i die by the galra" Lance said with a sad smile. "your not gonna die, you still going to get married and have children before dying of old age" Pidge said with a small weak smile. "sure i will" Lance smiled trying to cheer his friend up. 

"hey lance once we escape this lets have a rematch, i even let you play as my own player" Pidge smiled trying to lighten the mood. "sounds good, i might be able to win for once" Lance laughed and Pidge was stung my the keyboard breaking and blowing up a little on her arm. Lance saw her arm start to bleed and how she quickly tried to cover her wound up before attacking the door with her Bayard but had no luck in breaking the door. Instead she was sent flying into the wall by the door air gun. She hit the wall hard making her groan and land on the ground with a thud.

"Pidge" Lance yelled with worry. "I'm fine, i forgot they play dirty" Pidge moaned and stood up before going to attack the door again. 

"pidge please just stop" Lance begged as she was sent flying for the tenth time already. "i wont give up not until we both back at the castle laughing like idiots" Pidge said desperate and Lance just grabbed her arm as she walked pass and pulled her into a hug. "Pidge use the vents and just go, please tell my family i love them and they were the best family i could have asked for, tell the others in voltron" Lance started to say with a small smile as he hugged the smaller girl and she listened to everyone he said with shock, she didnt want to hear these words. 

"lance" Pidge said with tears forming and he just smiled like an idiot before hugging her once more. Soon the floor under them started to break as it was blasted by an enemy battle ship making the pull happen. "pidge" Lance yelp as the chain was pulled out and pulling him along. Pidge grabbed lance hands and wrapped her legs around her Bayard she stuck in the ground. 

"hold on, i try pulling you up" Pidge yelled as he held lance hands tighter. "Pidge we both know the chain will just keep pulling me out, dont waste your life on me" Lance said with a small smile. "no your the perfect person to waste my life on" Pidge cried. "pidge you know i couldn't never be the one, find someone important and live happy with them" lance said with a small smile. 

"no your the most important person to me lance, your the person I'm in love with" Pidge cried and lance just smiled his kind smile. "sorry Katie" Lance smiled and slid out of Pidge grip falling into space as she watched from the edge, her tears making her helmet blurry. 

"Keith, you gotta save him please, use red and just" Pidge cried and she hoped the red lion could fly under lance in time but everyone knew it was too late. Pidge watched as lance closed his eyes with a smile and landed in the ship explosion. 

Green flew to Pidge and picked her up but Pidge never said a word, she just cried. The others wasn't even sure what to say to her, it was always lance who cheered her up and yet she just watched him die. She went to her room instead of going to a pod like keith and shiro told her.

Her hands was cut up from attacking the door, her arm missing a chunk of skin from where her arm scream blew up on her, her body bruised and bloody from being sent into the wall and floor over and over, the scraps of metal that hit her from the explosion still sat inside her. But she didnt care she just lost the one person she wanted to protect and stay by all her life. She couldn't save him and he died because of how weak she was. A week passed as she still never came out of her room. Shiro, keith and hunk snuck into her room to patch her up when they heard her finally cried herself to sleep each night. They gave her food and water in her sleep so she wouldn't just rot away. They even changed her clothes, well they closed their eyes and did their best.

They kept allura away from Pidge room since they knew it wouldn't end well. Allura was dating lance and wanted to know how he truly died. She wanted to know why Pidge didnt hack the door or how she didnt use the vent to escape and find a way to hack the door somewhere else. She wanted to tell pidge to get over it and train. She wanted to yell at Pidge for just moping away while the others still worked. She wanted to tell Pidge to get back to being a paladin of voltron.

Everyone tried to keep allura away but every chance allura got she would be outside Pidge door yelling and telling her about how important voltron is and how she cant just cry all week. They knew they need pidge as the green paladin but everyone knew how Pidge felt about lance, she was the best when it came to hiding her crush. Everyone wanted to help her but how do you cheer someone up who watched their crush die. 

Its been two years since lance died during the rescue mission. Pidge never got over it and became colder but she still worked with the team. She went back to her old self after a couple months since planets needed saving. She was just like her nerdy sassy self but at the same time she wasn't. She stopped feeling and showing much emotion. She was broken and they knew it. 

What made it worse was lotor was now apart the team and dating allura. It only took allura a day to get over Lance death and after a couple weeks she was dating lotor. They had to pull Pidge out of the room with force when she heard the news since she nearly killed them both. Shiro, keith and hunk wasn't so happy with how allura was acting. It seemed she was more upset but the fact they couldn't form voltron instead of lance dying. 

"so we might be able to spend a day on the planet mululunoble" shiro said with a small smile as he, keith, hunk and Pidge sat on the long sofas chilling. "how are you able to say that, i been trying to say the planet name all week and fail" keith said with worry. "your not the only one" Hunk said with a frown. "just cut it up like this mulu lu no ble" Pidge said with a small smile and rolled her eyes. "that what i did after pidge taught me" Shiro grinned and the other two tried to say it. "how it going" coran asked with a smile as he walked into the room and everyone looked around him.

"no princess and lotor is not with me dont worry" Coran sighed and everyone let a breath out, they didnt really get along with the princess or lotor much anymore and often tried to keep away unless it was a mission or planning. "we good, just thinking about what to do on mululunoble" Keith said with a grin and proud he said the name. "why dont me find somewhere nice to eat on mululunoble and have dinner their together as a treat" hunk smiled proudly since he said it proper as well. "well mululunoble is the planet know for its good food, i guess it wont be so bad if we went" Pidge said with a smug grin since she could say it without problems. 

"oh really mululunoble is know for their good food, we must all go try some" allura said with a smile as she walked in holding lotor hand and Pidge hissed while the others frown. "why dont we just go, it be a most romantic date" Lotor smiled and kissed allura cheek making her giggle. 

"nope I'm out, I'm gonna go bond with green" Pidge sighed and started walking to the door. "yeah i need to wash red, she needs a clean after yesterday mission" Keith said crossing his arms and walking to the door. "i better check on tonight dinner, dont want it to burn" hunk lied with a worried smile. "i better check over black, she did get hit during the mission" shiro said with a fake smile and walked out. 

"oh you didnt get to tell them the good news" lotor said with a small smile. "good news" coran asked since he was the last one to leave. "oh yeah, i came up with a wonderful idea" Allura smiled and told coran who eyes just widen. 

"hey pidge" keith smiled as he sat on a box he placed in their around a year ago since he hide in the green hanger with pidge from lotor and allura. "what's up" Pidge hummed as she washed under green jaw.

"we gonna need to empty lance room" shiro sighed as he sat on a handmade chair pidge made for him since he was keep breaking boxes in the hanger when he sat on them after he started hiding in the hanger like keith. "his room" Pidge said her voice breaking a little as she just dangle under green jaw a little.

"we got a call from his family, they left his grave empty since we couldn't give them his body but they wanted to fill it with the stuff he loved or was close to him and well" shiro stopped as he noticed some tears fall from pidge. "they wanted us to drop a box of things he kept close to him in space or photos in his room for them to placed in his grave so it wouldn't be as empty" Keith said with a frown and pulled the rope Pidge dangle down so they could hug her. "sure but can we do that after our day of tomorrow, i dont want to spoil our meal with tears" Pidge said with a weak smile as the two older boys hugged her. "sure, we wouldn't be going to earth until next month anyway so we got time" shiro smiled kindly and stoked her hair a little. "thanks" Pidge said as she hugged them both tighter. "no worries" keith smiled and patted her back to help calm her.

THE NEXT NIGHT AT THE PLANET MULULUNOBLE.

Keith, shiro, hunk, pidge and coran all sat in a small restaurant eating and chatting away. The five was having fun and enjoyed walking around the planet for the day. Shiro found some sunglasses that suited him and bought them. Keith found an alien red jacket that he liked and bought it to use at night if he gets cold, its best not to ask the others thought. Coran bought a brush for his hair, no one dared to ask. Hunk bought some ingredients and an alien cook book since he wanted to try cooking some of the meals here. Pidge well she bought some parts for her to use to build things but she also got a new chain, it was pained blue and she loved it. 

"so what will you use the chain for, dont you already ware a neckless all the time" hunk asked with a kind grin, Pidge wore a green and blue flower necklace that lance bought her for her birthday during their first year in space. He got a matching flower bracelet for himself and it was proof of how amazing and awesome their friendship was or so lance told her. "my chain is getting a little old and i know it will break soon so i got this chain to replace it, it chain the same colour as the flower so it should suit it" Pidge gently smiled and the others smile at her. She was nineteen and already faced so much yet she still standing tall and kept fighting.

She no longer cried at the mention of lance name instead she smiled as she remembers the boy. Yes she sometimes cry over the pass but everyone heart is weak for a certain someone and cant control their emotions all the time. "why dont you put the new chain on now and i help you put it on if you want" keith smiled and Pidge shook her head. "no thank you, we made a promise to either let the other put it on or take it off or do it ourselves" Pidge smiled and the others nodded. "shall we get another desert or head home" shiro smiled as they already ate a main meal and a desert but everyone like the cake and ice cream. "lets have another ... princess" Coran started to say with a grin with the others nodding but soon allura and lotor stood by their table.

"i wish to talk to you all" allura smiled. "i think your all agree with her plan and would admire her plan" Lotor smiled as the other turned to them with a frown, they were having a good day and yet here they are. "wait princess i dont think its the time to say that" Coran said with worry and Allura shook her head.

"what do you need princess" shiro asked and allura smiled. "I planed a party find the new blue paladin, since its not chose anyone else and we cant form voltron without the blue lion I'm going to hold a party for others to come and try to become the new paladin" Allura said with a proud smile and everyone mouth dropped.

"you going to hold a party to find the new blue lion paladin, what if she doesn't pick someone" hunk asked with worry as he hated the idea of finding a new paladin, they lived this long without replacing lance. "well if the lion still dont choice someone then we get the green paladin to hack into the lion and force her to form voltron when needed" lotor said with a smirk.

"you want me to hack the blue lion for voltron" Pidge said shocked.

"yes, well remember when you guys are in danger and the blue lion flies on her own to help form voltron and listens to what you ask of her during a battle, well if you hack into her we be able to control her from the castle so you wouldn't need to say every little command or wait for her to join the battle when she thinks you need help" allura said with a grin. "no fucking way in hell will Pidge hack the blue lion, we can still fight with the blue lion when she thinks we need help and that good enough" keith said annoyed they think they could just force the lion into fighting when it still fights just not all of them. "you dont have a choice, allura has already chosen and you should respect her orders" Lotor hissed back and Pidge stood.

"she no princess of mine so her orders mean shit to me" Pidge said jumping over her seat and walking out the door.

"how dare she" Allura yelled and Pidge stuck her middle finger up as she passed the restaurant making the others chuckle.

"sorry princess but i must agree with Pidge, i dont want to force the blue lion into fighting" Shiro said with a frown and stood up with keith, hunk and even coran behind him.

"your a team, you cant just walk away from this" Lotor said annoyed.

"just watch her ya dicks" Keith hissed and walked out with the rest.

"hunk talk to them" Allura said with a frown.

"sorry princess but your in the wrong and i hope you never think of doing such cheap trick again" hunk frowned.

"coran" allura yelled. "sorry princess but like i said before i dont agree with this" Coran frowned and walked out.

The rest caught up to pidge and told her how cool she looked doing that and they ended up laughing. They took the pod to the castle and walked down the halls towards their rooms. They were all glad that everyone rooms was in the same hall. Keith was the last room, then pidge room with lance room next to her, then hunk was next to lance and shiro was the first room they walk too. 

As they walked they saw someone standing in the middle of the hall and looking at Lance door. As they walked closer everyone stopped in their tracks and turned to the tall tan boy with blue eyes in shock. 

"lance" Pidge said with a soft broken voice and tears starting to fall. 

"Pidge" Lance said with a smiled and ran over to the girl hugging her like she was his life source.
