evie's p.o.v

i looked down at my sketchbook, i was already drawing up sketches of my wedding dress. i wanted to design bella's but i can't because of the whole 'you can't see the brides dress before the wedding or it's bad luck' thing. i could've made us matching dresses, unless she wants to wear a suit. i doubt it though, she does enjoy big dresses that you can twirl in.

heck, i still need to think of a way to propose to her. i mean i did already, but like in front of everyone. her parents, our friends, auradon. everyone. i doubt i can top carlos' proposal, not that it's a competition. i already have a ring for her, it's one of dizzy's designs. she's really good at making jewelry, and she whipped this bad boy up in no time.

i wanted to ask mal for help, but then it takes away the whole surprise everyone element i want. bella's birthday is coming up, her 17th birthday. i thought about doing it then but then i remembered it was also ben's birthday that day so i couldn't. or maybe i could? i'd have to ask ben, okay maybe he could be in on this. okay i should probably call him.

"hey evie, what's up?" ben asked after the phone rang for a bit. okay now how do i start this conversation?

"so what are you doing for your birthday?" i asked, which sounded kind of stupid. "well our parents are throwing us a party, did you not get an invitation?" did i? oh god don't tell me i didn't get invited to my girlfriend's birthday party. i rushed to the kitchen to see where mal had put the mail. hm okay, found it! three, one for each person that lived here.

"yeah of course, that's not what i called for though. um okay, so do you think i can like... propose to bella at the party?" i whispered the last part, i didn't want to take away the spotlight from him on his birthday after all. ben didn't respond and i thought he hung up for a second there.

"propose to bella? like ask her to be your wife? oh my god of course! yes totally! absolutely!" woah ben sounded more excited than me. "woah thanks ben, you're the best!" "if you need anything else, don't be afraid to ask!" what else? hmm? oh right! "thanks, can you make sure no one else finds out? i want this to be a surprise for literally everyone!"

after a while ben and i hung up, we had discussed some ideas. i like the idea of singing to her, bella's always going on about how she loves my voice so why not sing to her? i already have her birthday present, and ben's present of course. i keep forgetting ben, even though i just talked to him. now i need to design my dress, and the costumes!!

anyways, i know what i'm going to do. i'll put on a play for her. no not a play, a musical! i just need a cast and props. i know who to ask for help, i'm sure i can trust them to keep a secret! celia and dizzy, they'll help me for sure!

mal and i arrived to the party early, celia and dizzy were with us. ben had set up the stage for us and everything, he even helped us with the costumes and props. i can't wait to consider him my brother-in-law he'll be one day. mal had gone off to help belle with some final touch ups. i was kinda nervous, yes i had already proposed to bella in secret but what if she changed her mind in the time leading up to today?

"hey beautiful, how are you?" bella appeared behind me as i felt her hands on my waist. "i'm doing great my dear, how are you birthday girl?" she spun me around and kissed my cheek. "better now that you're here." ugh she's such a sap. i love it.

"you look amazing in that dress, where's it from?" i asked admiring her outfit. "oh just this high end designer, super famous and expensive. cost me millions, you might know her. evie grimhilde? best know as evie4hearts. never heard of her? what a shame." i rolled my eyes and laughed. she loved saying that whenever anyone asked her what she was wearing.

"no, but i'd love to thank her for gifting us with an outfit that really shows off all your beautiful... eyes! really makes your eyes pop!" i wasn't going to say that but her dad showed up behind her. i didn't want to say anything that would upset him, i heard fathers are overprotective of their daughters. and with his past as a beast, i ain't risking it.

"i know a way we could thank her... what?" bella looked at me confused before turning around to face to her father. well that's embarrassing.

"thank her how?" he asked looking dead serious at bella. "by writing her a wonderfully thought out thank you note!" yeah nice safe you big dork. "hmm, if you say so. now, i should probably go check on your brother..." with that he left and bella let out a groan of embarrassment.

"you could hear the disappointment in his voice." i laughed as bella used her hands to cover her embarrassment. "oh baby, why don't i cheer you up before everyone starts arriving?" bella removed her hands from her face and looked at me. "i would love that." i pulled her closer to kiss her, before i could though ben came over to us.

"hey, sorry to interrupt but people are staring to arrive. evie, dizzy's calling you." ah we need to prep! "alright, well i'll be back. go enjoy your day babe." i kissed her cheek before leaving and then ran off to find dizzy.

the night consisted of me and bella walking around greeting everyone, ben and carlos doing the same, and thanking them for showing up. dinner was being served and as i walked bella to the table we were to sit at, ben was behind the stage getting the girl's ready. i didn't get why there was a stage if they had a dj, it's not like they were going to bring a live band. either way, it came in handy so who am i to complain. maybe for speeches? eh i don't know.

"ladies and gentleman, i would like to thank you all for coming to celebrate our birthday. as you enjoy your dinner, we would like to offer you some live entertainment. this is, a modern fairytale by evie grimhilde." ben was on the stage, just in time too. great!

"what's going on?" bella asked me but i shushed her. "just watch, you'll like it." once ben came back to our table and sat down, the show began. i looked around our table, all of our friends had confused expressions as none of them knew what was happening.

"is that dizzy?" mal asked me but i shushed her too. don't they know not to talk during a performance? to answer her question though, it was dizzy and i had gotten some other vk's to help.

"i know you! i walked with you once upon a dream." dizzy's was dressed as me, she was holding a smaller version of the dress that bella wore when we first met. she continued to dance and sing as smaller vk's dressed as animals joined her.

"you'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream." as she twirled to get behind the curtain. celia, who was dressed as bella, came out from behind the other side of the stage. when dizzy returned the dress was gone and she bumped into celia, which of course was part of the script.

"i know you! i walked with you once upon a dream." celia took dizzy into her arms and began to waltz around the stage as they both began to sing. when they had finished the song they stood there looking at each other.

"i must be on my way now, i hope to see you again soon." celia bowed and kissed dizzy's hand before exiting the stage. dizzy twirled around as the lights went off and they switched to the next scene.

the next scene was dizzy sitting down with vk's dressed as the seven dwarfs. soft instrumental music began to play as the mood was set.

"once there was a princess,"

"was the princess you?" one of the 'dwarfs' asked. "and she fell in love." dizzy looked to the side of the stage as she spoke. "was it hard to do?" she let out a giggle, ah so adorable! "well, it was very easy. anyone could see that the princess was charming. the only one for me."

"was she strong and beautiful?"
"was she big and tall?"

as they asked celia came from the side dizzy was staring at, the others acted like they couldn't see her. all but dizzy. "there's nobody quite like her. anywhere at all." both girls were in different costumes, i made sure to make costumes that represented us.

"did she say she loved ya?"
"did she steal a kiss?"

"she was so romantic, i could not resist." dizzy stood up and walked towards celia, stopping a few feet in front of her. she admired her before turning around to face the others again.

"someday my princess will come, someday we'll meet again. and away her castle we'll go, to be happy forever i know." dizzy danced around by herself as they watched, celia only stared of in the distance as she posed like a princess would.

"someday when spring is here, we'll find our love anew. and the birds will sing and wedding bells will ring, someday when my dreams come true." dizzy stopped as she faced celia again. she held her hand up, like there was a glass stopping her from touching celia. celia walked off the stage again and the setting changed again.

it was now celia on the stage by herself. so far so good ladies.

"blue really is her color. it makes her beauty pop out, stand out more than other girls. her lips are plump, and red really makes them stand out. she also have really nice eyebrows. anyone could get lost in her brown eyes. her features are symmetrical. she's really the fairest of them all!" celia jumped around the stage as she said her lines. i hope bella knew where this was coming from. it was from the day jane and lonnie had mal do their hair and bella said many nice things about me. even though, looking back mal kinda did pressure her to do it.

"mmm mmm mmm, mmm mmm mmm. so this love
mmm mmm mmm." the lights dimmed as celia stopped in the middle of the stage. the instrumental music came back as the spotlight was on her.

"so this love, so this is what makes life divine. i'm all aglow and now i know, the key to our heaven is mine." i turned to look at bella, she was invested in the story. the excitement in her eyes could be seen even from the little bit of light that reached us.

"my heart has wings and i can fly, i'll touch every star in the sky. so this is the miracle that i've been dreaming of. mmm mmm mmm, so this is love." celia let out a dreamy sigh and hugged herself as she twirled off the stage.

a new scene yet again.

"for the first time, it's like i'm more than just a pretty face." dizzy kissed celia's cheek before walking away with a vk dressed as mal.

"if i could tell her, tell her what she means to me. if i could show her, show her what she does to me!" celia took a dramatic pause. "if only i knew what to say, because she's the first girl to make me feel this way. i wouldn't call it love, but it's somewhere there above. she could be my happily ever after, if only i could tell her that."

"hey sis, daydreaming about your girl again?" celia pushed the boy dressed as ben. "shut up, someone could hear you! and she's not my girl..." "bella's in loove!" celia began to chase little ben around as he continued to chant 'bella's in love.' i looked over at the actually bella to see her laughing into her palm as she tried to cover the blush on her face.

it switched to the scene after the whole family day fiasco. it was dizzy watching celia walk away as the mini jay, carlos and mal watched her. she walked closer to the stage to sing. ugh these girls are so talented. i feel like a proud mother.

"from the moment i saw you, i knew there was something there. i felt the sparks fly, and though i never felt like this before, i knew i didn't want it to end. now i must say goodbye, because it seems i've run out of time."

the little musical continued, we all cried and laughed together as they told our love story. with a few minor tweaks here and there, but everything was in the timeline it was meant to be in. even the whole bella almost dying, which not everyone knew about. it was getting to the big finale, so i excused myself and got closer to the stage.

i grabbed the microphone ben had left for me and i watched as we got to the proposal scene. they were sitting across from one another before dizzy excused herself and ran off. "good luck eves!" she whispered to me as she went to get bella. i walked on to the stage and waited for dizzy to come back with bella on the other side of the stage. once she was there i stepped into the spotlight and got ready for the big finale.

"bella, from a young age i knew what i wanted in life. a giant castle and to be a famous fashion designer. now, they're just goals because there's only one thing i dream about having in life. to live a happy life with you by my side. i never thought that i'd would wind up living here in auradon. i didn't think i would find my true love here either. everyday i wake up i'm thankful to be here and to have met you. and i never want to lose you. ever. i came close to losing you, and just the thought of moving on with life without you scared me. i know we're young, but when you know you know. i'm not saying we have to do it right away, but as long as i know that one day i could call you my wife... that's all that matters to me. i love you bella, with all my heart." the lights went off and i heard shuffling. celia got off stage and brought out the real bella. the lights came back and i was on one knee.

"bella i am ready to spend the rest of my life with you. so here i stand, or well kneel, in front of everyone we know to ask you one simple question. bella colette florina, would you make me the happiest girl alive and be my wife?" i grabbed her hand and smiled the widest smile ever, my cheeks will be sore after tonight holy fuck smiling hurts.

"evie of course! yes of course!" i was quick take off the other ring and put on the new one. i stood up and kissed her, our audience all began to clap as we kissed. when we pulled away i lifted her up and spun her around, though it was usually her that did that. "you did all this, just to propose to me? holy fuck you're amazing. we should get the cast to bow, thank them for their amazing performance." it was like dizzy and celia heard bella as they began to walk out with the rest of the cast.

the guests cheered even louder for our little actors and actresses.

as soon as bella and i left the stage we were bombarded by our friends who had come over to congratulate us. it was a massive group hug, and i totally loved it.

"evie oh my god, you're engaged! oh my god evie!" mal said in excitement. "yes i am! yes i am!" as our friends congratulated us on the engagement, i couldn't stop thinking about young evie. how she was told by mother that no one would want her for what's on the inside, that without her looks she would never make it. the young evie that would cry herself to sleep thinking about leaving the isle and coming to auradon. thinking it would never happen. that little girl has now grown up. we grew up and realized someone did want us for what's on the inside, and that we did come to auradon after thinking we could never.

i am surrounded by people who love me and that's all that matters now. i'm happy with my life now and forever.

"evie, may we have a word?" i turned around to see bella's parents in front of me. oh my god i should've asked for their permission first. what if they're mad at me? what if they don't actually want us together!? "but of course." hopefully they don't see past my nervousness. ahaha please don't.

"oh my god that was beautiful! oh honey i'm so happy for you two! i will devote all my time to help you plan the perfect wedding you two girls deserve!" belle hugged me tightly, a mother's embrace! ugh i love it. "yes, i'm happy as well. i know how much bella loves you and cares about you. i'm glad you two are ready for such commitment." beast hugged me once belle and i pulled apart. he is hard to figure out, what he says is happy words but what he sounds like is not happy.

"thank you, and i'm sorry i know i should've asked before hand. for her hand in marriage, but i got excited, and i really wanted to surprise everyone. i just want you to know that i love your daughter and i can't wait to marry her. she's my happily ever after." ahh i wanted to squeal and jump up and down from excitement.

"we're glad you two found each other, and we can't wait to bring you into the family. we love you evie, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you and bella. now, i think it's time you go back to your friends. enjoy the party sweetheart." i wanted to cry, bella really had the best parents ever. they were so nice and understanding, well except for her dad who wanted to close the barrier for good. if you can see past that though, you'll see what a nice guy he is.

i thanked them and went to join my friends. the servers began to take back the food as the party part of tonight was coming.

"so what did my parents want?" bella asked as i took her hand. "to congratulate us, they said they loved me and can't wait to have a better daughter than the last one." bella smiled and nodded before realization hit her. "hey! i see how it is." i laughed and pulled her closer. "you know they love you, but more importantly they love us. eva? bevie? belie? belvie?" i never really thought about a couples name for us. ben and carlos have benlos, uma and mal have umal. heck, jay and gil were gay. odd couple name but gay sounds better than jil.

"bevie, i like that one. evla? no sounds like a water bottle company. i guess bevie, or whatever you'd like."
i cupped her face and kissed her.

"together, we're bevie."
