ben's p.o.v

"hey carlos, i'm on my way to the party. call me back when you can, love you." i left a message for carlos, he wasn't answering his calls and i was getting worried. maybe he left and didn't charge his phone. yeah that was it right?

"ben!" bella called for me. she entered my room with a worried look across her face. "what's wrong?" i placed jane's gift on my bed and walked over to her. "its audrey, she stole the scepter and the crown. evie texted me but i haven't been able to reach her since then. do you know where they're at?" she asked. audrey stole the scepter and the crown? no that can't be right? why would she even?

"okay i'll go find mom and dad, you call the news. we need to let people know. i knew we should've said something earlier. then call and tell the guards to give people masks. get to as many people as we can." bella left and i began to make calls. this felt unreal.

"no, no. we want the auradon guards handing out gas masks. well not everyone's asleep!" i hung up and tossed my phone to the side. i turned to look at the guard by my door. "find out if anyone's seen audrey! and find if she has a list of demands!" with that the guard left running. i know bella wouldn't listen to her demands but we maybe if we make it look like we care she'll back down.

i sat down and rubbed my temple, life was going great. why can't life just be great? why does evil exist?

"just one." i jumped out of my chair in shock. i wasn't alone anymore. audrey was with me... okay what does she want.

"i demand my life back. i have a proposition. i'll wake everybody up right now. under one itty bitty condition..." she began to touch my face and held my cheek in her hand. "make me your queen and we'll rule side by side." you've got to be kidding me. she's still hung up on being queen?

"did someone put a spell on you? just tell me who and i'll-" "you'll what? marry them?" she let go of me and walked away.

"most people get dumped because they aren't good enough. i wasn't bad enough. how do you like me now benny boo?" she twirled around as if doing so would make me take her back. "i like the old audrey better." i told her. well not really, old audrey was annoying and clingy.

"you don't like either audrey's, maybe if i was a boy you would. right? because suddenly you like guys. why would you like old audrey better than new audrey?" what do i tell her? the truth?

"she wouldn't want to hurt auradon. just give me the scepter and i'll forgive you." i stepped towards her, hoping she would hand it over, but she didn't.

"forgive me? i don't think so. sleeping is too good for you!" she zapped me with the scepter and i fell down. "sleeping is too good for auradon!" i heard her say before she left.

i  felt my face get heavier and furrier? i touched my face and all i felt was hair. then a pain came from inside my mouth. no, no no no no. i quickly got up and ran to the mirror. she transformed me into my father. a beast! an ugly beast at that.

"ben?" i heard my name. it was bella, was she with mom and dad? maybe they knew how to reverse this. i tried to say 'in here' but all i could get out was a roar. "ben?!" bella ran into the room but mom and dad weren't with her. she froze in the doorway, she couldn't say or do anything. she was scared. i tried to move towards her, find a way to let her know it was me. i was still wearing my clothes, that could be a hint right?

she let out a loud high pitched scream and ran away. great, i scared her off and now i'm stuck like this. i can't speak and i scare everyone off, what now? maybe magic? fairy godmother! i should go see her, or mal! they're both good with magic, they might now what to do about this.

how do i get through the castle without anyone noticing me? can i jump out the window? it's not that far down... maybe i'll go down to another level and jump out a window once i'm closer to the ground. yep, that's the plan. okay let's go.
