it was the day that we went to pick up the new vk's. gosh i was so nervous. they were children, i love children! they're young and impressionable, we can still protect them from the cruel reality in which we live in that not everything is a fairytale.

before we left though, carlos has asked me if he could say something. i asked what and he told me it was a surprise, for both ben and auradon. we all stood around the same spot where we met the core four. where i first met evie... i looked at her from the corner of my eye, she looked ravishing. gosh i l-

"here they come." evie told us and the band began to play. we all turned our attention to carlos and ben, the crowd cheered as they walked hand-in-hand. they looked like kings, they held their heads up high without a care in the world. woah i'm so proud of little ben, after all he was born like ten minutes after me.

"bippity-boppity. one-two, one-two, can everybody hear me?" fairy godmother asked the crowd, this was her way of telling them to shut up. the crowd cheered a loud yes and with that fairy godmother handed the microphone to carlos.

"thank you fairy godmother," carlos took the mic she handed to him and he looked over at all of us.  "what's up auradon! thank you, thank you so much for coming out to welcome our new arrivals, they'll be here soon! it worked out pretty well the first time when my friends and i were brought here." carlos seemed full of confidence and joy, he was perfect for ben. they were perfect for one another.

"yeah especially for you!" someone yelled from the crowd. i turned to look at whoever said that, to no surprise it was chad who stood with audrey and her grandmother. he never knows when to shut up does he?

"ben, this is the exact spot we first met not so long ago. i feel like i've know you my whole life. but did i mention i'm in love with you?" i felt like squealing at how cute that was, i hope they last long together because i would honestly love to have as carlos my brother-in-law.

doug moved closer to the stage and began to play his guitar. a man of many talents is what doug was, he could play practically any instrument.

"i met this boy who rocked my world like its never been rocked. and now i'm living just for him and i won't ever stop. i never thought that it could happen to a guy like me, but now look at what you've done, you've got me... down on one knee."

carlos finished the song as he got down on one knee, oh my god this was his surprise! holy crap! holy crap! it's happening! it's happening!

"ben, it's you and me. it's you and me forever. will you marry me?" carlos held out the opened box with a beautiful ring.

"oh no," whispered ben and the crowd gasped as they heard him. well audrey let out a loud 'yes!' shut up sis. ben better not be throwing a guy like carlos away, i will hurt him if he hurts carlos.

"no i meant yes! yes absolutely! i just..." ben got down on one knee as well and took out a small box. of course the small box had an engagement ring. these fuckers planned on proposing to one another on the same day, are you kidding me? this was a huge "no you" moment if i've ever seen one.

"i was going to do it later in the night while on our date, but you beat me to it." they both got up and put the rings on one another. the crowd cheered as they kissed, of course someone, aka audrey, wasn't shy to hide their displeasure but whatever. this was so romantic i just can't.

"makes our movie night seem a little tame." evie whispered to me as she looked at carlos and ben. "i love y- movies!" i turned to look at evie as i was about to say i loved her but i was a coward. i said i loved movies instead of saying i loved her. i'm such a fucking baby.

"me too." evie kissed my cheek and excused herself as she and mal went to talk to ben. i bet they were going to give him a talk about 'don't you dare hurt carlos' or 'if you break carlos' heart we'll hunt you down'. they were very protective of carlos, i don't blame them as almost anyone who knew carlos was protective of him.

"i love movies." someone said mockingly in my ear. it was jay. i turned to face him and pouted. we  had gotten closer, i was close with evie and carlos but not mal and jay so i made it my mission to become close to them as well. mal and i bonded over our love for art and magic, jay and i bonded over sports and how competitive we were. they both also helped me when i needed help on how to surprise evie and other things, mostly about evie.

"hey i tried, i just got scared. it's the thought that counts." he only laughed and mocked me. "nice blue streak, i wonder who that's for." jay pointed out a blue streak in my hair. "it was mal's idea, she said it represented evie." it was true, this was mal's idea not mine, she said it would mean a lot to evie. "if you say so, now i'm off to congratulate our two love birds." jay walked away and towards ben and carlos. i was about to go and do the same when i was stopped, by audrey.

"what is wrong with everybody? this is your fault, you encouraged these villains to be one of us. you took the crown that belongs to me, you let ben fall for that boy. ben should be king, and i should be his queen. auradon doesn't deserve a queen that let's villains run around as if they belonged here." audrey held my wrist with a tight grip, her nails digging into my skin as she seemed to get angrier.

"who do you think you are, the queen?" she let go of my wrist but i wasn't going to let her get away. i grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer, whispering into her ear, "know your place audrey, ben didn't want you he wanted carlos. and if ben doesn't want you, neither does auradon." i pushed her back and went to join my friends and family. i wasn't going to let her ruin my mood. it wasn't a very mature response for a queen, but after all i'm still just a teen, ben and i aren't even 18 yet.

"i'm engaged!" ben hugged me as i went to congratulate him. "you're engaged!" now if only i had the balls to propose to evie. hell i haven't even told her i love her, how was i suppose to say 'will you marry me'.

"okay let's do this!" ben clapped his hands to get our attention. it was time to get the new vk's. i turned around to look for uma and the others, did they change their minds about coming or were they not ready yet.

"uma said to go without them, they're not ready to go back in case their parents are still angry for leaving." mal said to me as she noticed me looking for them. uma told me how her mom would be furious to see her again after she left without telling her. that was my fault though, i should've given them time to say goodbye to their parents.

  the limo approached us and we all hurried in, jay getting in the front as he had asked if he could drive us. he really enjoyed driving, among other things. if he was better at it then the rest of us, he enjoyed it. and that went for a lot of things, like basketball and soccer. among other sports.

the limo ride felt like forever, maybe because we couldn't wait to bring the new vk's with us. as evie and i cuddled, i took notice of mal. she was lonely, i mean ben had carlos, i had evie, who did she have? did she want someone? was she into guys or girls? both maybe?

"mal what's your type?" shoot, i let my myself speak before i completely thought it out. mal looked at me confused, "my type?" she asked. "yeah like what do you look for when you're into someone."

"yeah you're like the only one that's still single." carlos said to mal which earned him a slap on the knee from evie. "what? jay isn't seeing anyone either!" mal pointed behind her as the window that connected the drivers side and the  passenger side.

"don't drag me into this, i'm spoken for." jay said not looking away from the road. "he's lying, he might be crushing on someone but jay is not dating anyone." evie said which earned her the middle finger from jay.

"yeah he's always flirting with harry and gil, mostly gil." ben now joined the conversation. "yeah but harry spends his days flirting with ben." "he was flirting with my dad once." i added. they all looked at me but they didn't seem shocked.

"how did he react?" ben asked. "he was slightly concerned that harry was flirting with a grown man, mom just found the whole thing hilarious." they all looked concerned but ultimately ended up laughing. we continued to joke around, never once getting an answer from mal though. if she wasn't okay with sharing that's fine though, i wasn't going to pressure her.

soon we were at our destination. the isle of the lost. the people were already waiting for our arrival.

we all got out and headed to the new four vk's and their parents. ah they were so cute!

"alright boys, let's hit the road." carlos said to the twins as they finished saying goodbye to their father. they didn't seem too happy with having to say goodbye to him. "you're gonna see him soon, okay? come one." jay reassured them as he and carlos led them inside. i walked back to ben as we continued to talk to the people of the isle. they were so nice and happy to see us.

once all the kids put their items in the trunk and were inside, we said our goodbyes to the people of the isle and got in limo. i can't wait to get to know them all, they seemed like such nice kids.

i was looking at my friends interact with the children as the barrier began to upon up. their new lives in auradon were about to begin, i can't wait till we can open the barrier and bring all the children with us. auradon will be their home, if they accept it as their home. a big part of that depends on how we welcome them in.

"it's hades!" evie was looking out the back window and everyone turned their attention to the scene behind us. hades had put his hand through the barrier and had his ember? "stop the car he's trying to escape!" and with that jay slammed on the break. we all got out of the car as he was able to get only his top half outside the barrier.

"i am a god! i don't belong here!" his hair was lit on fire as he got angry. carlos, jay and ben ran to stop him but he used his ember to zap them, forcing them to fall down. then it happened. purple smoke began to surround mal as she began to turn into a dragon.

mal was in the air, roaring at hades trying to scare him. hades did seem scared for a bit but he zapped mal. a blue light hit mal and she shrieked? i couldn't really tell, she's a dragon so it all sounds the same.

"come on mal, blast him!" jay yelled from where he was on the ground. hades zapped her again but mal was able to fight back and she let out a gush of air which made hades back down. he was blown back behind the barrier but he had already caused damage to mal.

mal began to fall down and as she fell she transformed back to her human self. she landed on top of the limo but she seemed weak. evie and i helped her down as it looked like she was going to pass out.

"are you okay?" evie asked her. "no. he was draining all of my magic with the ember, and i felt... all my power slipping away." mal sounded hurt, like she was ready to cry. "you're safe, he's back where he belongs." evie reassured her. we all turn to look at hades who was still standing there, angrier this time. he turned and walked away, making the people scream and run away from him in terror.

"we should go."

evie and i helped mal get back into the limo and we rushed back to auradon. with what hades did, no one will feel safe when we choose to bring down  the barrier. the people of auradon will be in a panic when we get back...
