third person p.o.v

"i feared something like this would happen," king adam spoke taking his glasses off. "this isn't their fault!" ben spoke in the vk's defense.

"no son, it's yours." ben looked at his father in disbelief. queen leah was the one that started this, but ben knew he had to take responsibility for this. "once you find your sister, tell her to come see us." belle said before she and the king left. ben stood there as everyone was staring at him.

chad and audrey walked past him and made loud sounds of disgust, they weren't going to take responsibility for what they did so why bother making them do it.

out in the courtyard, the vk's and bella sat around a table as everyone judged them with their stares. evie was resting her head on bella's shoulder, carlos was on bella's right, jay was sitting on the edge of the table and mal was sitting across from them. they were staring at their lunch trays but they didn't really feel like eating.

"hey guys, how is everyone?" ben asked as he walked over to their table. "hey listen, forget about it alright? it was nothing, forget about it. let it go. tomorrow, after the coronation everything will be okay." ben reassures them as he placed his hands on carlos' shoulders. no one said anything, no one even looked up at him, not even carlos.

"bella, mom and dad want to talk to you." ben said before leaving. "you're going to be in so much trouble you know that right?" evie told bella. "yeah i know, but what are they gonna do? prevent me from being queen?" bella tried to lighten up the mood. it sort of worked.

"you enjoy getting in trouble for evie don't you?" mal joked. "i guess so, but chad also had it coming. i've been waiting forever to throw a punch his way." they let out a few small chuckles.

"you guys don't deserve this, the kids here think they're just like their parents. perfect and pretty but they're all ugly, inside and out." bella said and mal agreed. "kids on the isle are better than them." she said. "it's because we're not spoiled, kids who are spoiled think they're above everyone else." jay turned to look at the group behind them. they all agreed and went back to sitting in silence for a bit.

after a few seconds of sitting in comfortable silence, doug came over to their table to talk to evie.

"listen evie, i wanna talk about earlier today i just-" chad cut doug off by calling his name. "doug!" "it's my fault doug, im sorry." evie said looking up at him. "no it's mine,"

"doug!"
"what?" doug turned to look at evie then back at chad. he whispered 'sorry' and went to sit at chad's table. after that jane and audrey walked past their table, talking loudly so mal could hear them.

"how long does she think that's gonna last? mal is just the bad girl infatuation." audrey said stopping behind mal. "yeah," jane agreed.

"i mean he's never gonna make a villain a queen." jane said into mals ear but loud enough for the others to hear. they walked away laughing and joined a group of girls that were also laughing. bitches.

"oh that audrey is going to-" bella was cut off my mal. "you've done enough for us today, i got this." mal took out her spell book. bella looked at her confused. mal, without even looking back at jane, said a spell from her book.

"beware, forswear. undo janes hair." and with the flick of her fingers jane's new cool hair went back looking the same as before. the girls she was with began to laugh at her.

"there's a lot more where that came from." mal assured her as they all stood up, minus bella.

"excuse me, who do you think you are?" audrey looked at the vk's with disgust. "do i look like i'm kidding?" mal warned them. audrey quickly shut up.

"you're just a princess, not a queen. learn your place, ben's not your boyfriend anymore so don't except my family and i to show you an ounce of respect." bella said standing up, she lost respect for audrey a long time ago. if only things hadn't changed.  audrey looked like she was going to say something but ran away as mal opened up her spell book.

they all sat back down, all except for bella. "i should go see my parents now, i'll see you all tomorrow at the coronation."

"thank you, for always standing up for us." evie began standing up to say goodbye to bella. "that's what friends are for." bella smiled. evie smiled in return and kissed bella's cheek. "good luck with your parents." bella nodded and waved goodbye to everyone else. she felt her face begin to burn up as she walked away.

"i'm really looking forward to tomorrow." mal said once bella was far from earshot. "let's grab that wand and blow this popsicle stand." mal smirked at her friends, they would all miss this place but the people weren't worth staying for. mal walked away, "i'll see you guys in the room." mal shouted as she walked away.

evie, jay and carlos sat there for a few seconds. "guys can i tell you something?" evie asked her friends. "what's up?" carlos asked sitting on the table.

"i, i like bella." evie admitted. jay and carlos looked at each other and then back at evie. "okay, now what did you want to tell us?" jay asked. "no, i like bella as more than a friend." evie explained herself.

"yeah, we know. everyone knows, took you long enough to admit it though." carlos said smirking at evie. "oh, do you think she likes me though?" evie asked them and herself. jay and carlos looked at each other and began to laugh.

"what's so funny?" she asked confused. "evie, you've never really seen how she looks at you? she's like totally into you." jay said laughing. evie blushed, was she really that oblivious?

"aww look at our little evie, falling in love with a princess." jay teased. carlos and jay began to make kissy faces to tease evie but she rolled her eyes and walked away. "real mature guys." she said flipping them off as they continued to tease while they followed her.

evie couldn't believe that she had finally found herself a princess, one that actually liked her and she had a chance with. too bad that after tomorrow when they steal the wand, bella won't look at her the same way and her chances to live in fairytale story will come crashing down.

carlos stopped teasing evie as he realized that tomorrow was going to be the last time he saw ben. he knew that what they were going to was going to ruin what they could've had. but he has to go through with the plan, they think we're they're evil? then evil they will be.

bella walked back to her dorm room, she tried calling her parents and ben but no one answered her calls. she decided to give up and just lay down. her brothers coronation was tomorrow, she had to be awake early to get dressed and to arrive with her parents before anyone else.

bella opened the door to her room to find her parents were already inside. she always locked the door so how did they get inside?

"fairy godmother let us in, she does have a master key to all the rooms after all." her father said standing up from the where he was sitting. bella mentally prepared herself for whatever her parents were going to say. she closed the door and stood next to it with her head down.

"what were you thinking hitting the charming's son?" king adam asked furiously. "he was being disrespectful towards my friends! this wasn't the first time he's used words to hurt them!" bella raised her voice, but she didn't dare look up.

"you hit him twice! twice! once wasn't enough?" her dad asked again, raising his voice even more. "he got physical with evie! he threatened to hit me, what was i going to do? just stand there and let him hit my friend and i?" she finally looked up and her eyes  met with her mother's, who didn't dare speak a word.

"then you go and insult queen leah! what were you thinking?!" king adam's voice roared through out the room.

"why must you insist we call everyone princess or prince. or even queen!? you and mom rule over everyone, the day you got yourself elected king you took away all their royal statues! i wasn't going to let 'queen leah' insult  mal like that! it's clear you all think the vk's are like their parents, if that was true then ben would be a vicious beast like you! father you told us to set an example for those around us and i did! ijust because people like audrey and chad think they're better than us doesn't mean they have any right to talk down to us! if you truly see me as some disappointment then please kindly leave my room! i will not stand for this!" bella went off on her father. she was careful not to say anything that would get her into major trouble but just enough to get her point across.

"she's right," belle said finally speaking up. king adam and bella look at her.  "those kids, chad and audrey, they're just like gaston. bella was only doing what i would've done, if i had the courage she has. she stood up for herself and others, making a point that needed to be made. ben would've done the same and you wouldn't be yelling at him like you're telling at your daughter." belle went to calm her husband down. they talked amongst themselves before turning to look at bella

"you like standing up for people don't you? fairy godmother told us about what you did to protect that girl evie from your chemistry professor. you're just like your mother you know," king adam walked over to bella. "i guess i'm not ready to see my little girl grow up just yet." he said before hugging her.

this was not the reaction bella was expecting to receive. it made sense though, fathers always have soft spots for their daughters.  why would her father be any different.

"but maybe hitting the poor boy wasn't the right thing to do."  he said as he pulled away from the hug.

"darling we're proud of the girl you're becoming, never forget that okay, but violence isn't always the answer. now we should get going." belle said to bella. "you need to rest before your brothers big day, after all your dress is back in the castle." king adam said. oh right, she had to go to the castle for her dress and stuff.

bella simply nodded and followed her parents out of the room. she was at a loss for words, her parents let her off the hook? no punishment? no saying 'you're grounded, fairy godmother will make sure you have detention everyday'?

now, to get rest for her brothers coronation and what was to come.
