Present Time...

I can't explain what I felt when I found out the results of my laboratory tests when Dra. San Diego told me about it.

Suddenly, all my hopes and dreams began to shatter into pieces. My cheeks felt cold with my tears added to the fact that it began to rain and I haven't thought of bringing an umbrella today.

Here I am, just sitting at the waiting shed. I was staring into space still trying to decipher what transpired earlier.

My thoughts immediately recalled the past and recent happy memories I had. Both with my career, friends, family and with Billy.

How fortunate. Some good things never last.

I shook my head and sniffed. I was dumbfounded when I noticed someone's hand offering me a handkerchief. I looked up and gasped both in disbelief and surprise.

He grinned at me with his signature goofy look.

"Anong ginagawa mo dito? Magkakasakit ka pa nyan eh!" Preston commented and gave his coat to me and draped it over my shoulder.

"Walanghiya ka! Bakit ngayon ka lang nagpakita!" I exclaimed at him and slapped him on his arm.

"Aray naman! Hanggang ngayon ba, aping-api pa din ako?" Preston chuckled and I stopped hitting him.

I hugged him immediately and he looked at me with a curious expression.

"Bakit ka nag-eemote dito? Teka, galing ka ba kay Rhea?" He asked and it was my turn to be confused.

"Kilala mo si Doc Rhea?" I asked and he nodded.

"She's my cousin. Mother side." He supplied and I nodded in  understanding. "Which reminds me... Anong masakit sayo? Bakit ka nagpunta sa kanya?"

"It's better for you not to know." I gave him a small smile and he paused for a while before he nodded in agreement.

"Tara, meryenda muna tayo bago kita ihatid pauwi?" He asked with an eyebrow raised at me.

"Sure!" I said and smiled at him.

Little did I know that someone was taking pictures of us.

Weeks passed and things are back to normal. I got four flights in a week and Billy constantly fetches me everytime I come home.

We became closer together although there are times when he is tempted to go beyond our limits. We would automatically separate before things go out of hand. And he would say sorry afterwards.

We also were religiously attending the meeting with our wedding coordinator and she was nice enough to adjust her schedules every Saturday to accommodate us since we are all working.

Unlike the usual meeting in her shop, we met at restaurants or even coffee shops wherever we were currently in.

As Billy drove us home, I couldn't help noticing his glance at his cellphone which made me think of something irrational so I decided to dismiss the negative thoughts bottling up inside me.

"Goodnight, Love." He said and hugged me when we reached the gate of my house. "Bumawi ka ng pahinga ha. Sunod-sunod ang flights mo lately. Nangangayayat ka na."

I nodded and hugged him tightly. It was me who initiated the kiss before pulling back to talk to him.

"Yes, Love. Ikaw din. Yung eyebags mo oh. Sunod-sunod din ang convention mo. Masyado kasing masipag." I kidded and he chuckled.

"I love you and I can't wait to spend forever with you." Billy said and my heart warmed to his words.

I burst into tears and he shushed me by rubbing my back.

"Hey. Nakakaiyak na ba ang sinabi ko?" He joked and I managed a small laugh.

I shook my head and I hugged him again. "Wala. I'm just thankful to have you. Ang swerte-swerte ko at minahal mo ang katulad ko."

"Ako ang maswerte!" He said and we both laughed.

"Sige na. Bibyahe ka pa. Ingat sa pagdrive ha." I said and he planted a quick kiss again on my lips before he ran to the driver's seat.

"Love you and good night!" He yelled before he closed his window and sped off.

He didn't bother to wait for my reply as he drove off without looking.

Little did I know that that will be the day when I will see him full of life and happy.

Next day came and I awoke to the loud ringing on my phone. I glanced at the clock and saw that it was past two in the morning.

Groaning, I grabbed it and answered with frustration.

"Oh? Bakit?" I asked yawning.

"Sarah! Si Billy! Naaksidente!" I heard a familiar voice yelled with worry evident in it.

"H-ha?" was all that I could say.

Tears immediately sprung from my eyes.

"Andito kami sa District Hospital. Room 567." I heard him say and from then on, my world crumbled beneath me.
