Second Year of college..

Sophomore Year...

I was smiling when I saw Billy in his white uniform waiting for me outside the department building.

Today is a special day. It is his birthday and I am planning to finally say yes to him.

I want to end his courtship by making things between us official. I plan to set things straight.

I also have my parents' blessings about this decision of mine. I know I'm old enough to make my own decisions but in times like this, I know I still have a lot to learn in this thing called relationships.

I can still remember what Mom said to me when I said to them about it, "Oh anak, hindi porket mahal mo, ibibigay mo na lahat-lahat. Save something for yourself. Don't make him your world. Para just in case, which I hope not, things got shaky between you and him, hindi masisira ang buong mundo mo dahil binigay mo na lahat."

Those were her words which Dad seconded by saying, "don't rush yourselves for falling in-love. Enjoy the feeling but do not let it consume you. Ayokong makita kang umiiyak ng dahil sa isang lalaki na hindi naman pala worth it sa huli."

I sighed and my heart immediately felt warm inside with their words of support and understanding.

I watched Billy from a distance for a while before I came into his view. He was drawn to his phone and his forehead was creased with both annoyance and irritation. I giggled because of how cute he was even with his brows like that.

I was about to step forward when I saw a lady in a blue uniform like me hurrying towards the building's entrance. She was beautiful, so I say.
I let her went out first before I step into his view but was astonished when I saw her rushing to Billy's spot and threw her arms over his neck.

"Billy Boooy!" She shrieked in surprise and was grinning from ear to ear.

My jaw dropped open when I saw how Billy encircled his arms over her waist and looked into her eyes. I returned quietly to the where I was standing earlier and looked at them acting all lovey-dovey as if they are the only people in the world.

"Took you so long to come out." Billy grinned mischievously as she pecked on his cheek and sniffed his neck.

"Sorry! Have you waited long enough?" She cooed and rested her head on his neck.

Shit. Akala ko ba, bawal ang PDA sa campus na to? Bakit may ganyan!

I did not know that I was crumpling a piece of paper in my hands when Tyrell looked at me with a curious expression. He followed my eyes and his brows twitched in both disbelief and annoyance.

"Sigurado ka bang sasagutin mo na 'yang lalakeng 'yan?" He asked and for a moment, my words remained in the air.

Are we really meant to be? Or ako na lang ang masaya sa kung anong meron kami? Nainip na ba sya sa kakahintay sa akin?

Suddenly, while we were talking, Billy called my name with a bright smile on his face.

"Sarah!" He called out and I feigned my sadness as I walked towards him with a fake smile. I felt Tyrell followed behind me and Billy's smile automatically turned into a scowl.
He nodded at him for acknowledgment which Tyrell returned back.

As if Tyrell wasn't around, Billy turned to me and introduced me to the woman who broke from their embrace.

"Sarah, Love, I would like you to meet Precious Zurich, a childhood friend of mine na kinakapatid ko din." Billy said proudly.

Precious gave me a snide smile while her arm was still on his left arm. With Billy's arm clinging to my waist, mukha kaming nasa isang pelikula.

The Other Woman ang peg. Nakakairita pero hindi ako tiwala sa babaeng kaharap ko ngayon.

Gone was the plan of making things official with him today. Maybe, it's just wasn't the right time, at all.

Night time came...

"Kamusta, anak? Kayo na ni Billy?" Mom asked over dinner while I sighed in response.

I felt Mom and Dad exchanged glances over the table and it was Dad who broke the silence.

"Whatever your decision is, we are behind you all the way." That was Dad's response which I gave them a small smile. "Kumain na. Magtatampo ang Diyos. Hayaan mo sya. Hindi mo kawalan -"

"-DAAD!" Mom nudged him which he stopped at an instant. "Hayaan mo. Hala, kain na."

I nodded and continued eating.

The next day... Weekend...

"Ano meron? Teka! Hindi pa ako nag mumumog!" I complained while I woke up with a blindfold over my eyes.

Someone was assisting me as I went downstairs to wherever.

"Ang aga-aga! Anong gimik to?" I asked and I heard giggles somewhere.

I was relieved when I finally can see what was happening and where I was.

And, here in our dining room, was an array of beautiful flower arrangement and a human-sized teddy bear and a heart-shaped chocolates lying on top of it.

I gasped when I noticed the flowers. Those are my favorite! Red and pink roses!

I was even more grateful when I saw who was seated at the end of the dining table. It was Billy. Looking handsome as ever in his relaxed blue-striped polo shirt and board shorts.

"I know hindi ito yung nauusong romantic candle-lit dinner na nakikita sa mga palabas. Pero isa lang ang alam ko na I am looking forward to loving you every single day." Billy said, his eyes locked into mine.

"Malamang hindi ito dinner dahil almusal ang peg natin!" I answered earning a laugh from him and from Mom and Dad at our background.

I walked towards him with a big smile on my face, "seeing your face tells me that everything is going to be okay. And, I will always see every day as another day to fall in love with you all over again."

His eyes widened in abrupt disbelief, "T-tama ba ang pagkakarinig ko? Love? In love ka na din sa akin?"

I nodded and I threw my arms over his neck as I stared into his eyes and said, "Yes, Billy. I love you. And we are now official."

Billy was about to kiss me when Mom and Dad hollered at the back, "Yuck, Anak! Magmumog ka muna!"

I groaned and bore my face onto his chest. His shoulders shook with laughter and he gently lifted my face up. He kissed me on the lips and said, "thank you and I love you."
