Liz woke up to Otis's alarm ringing loudly on his side of the bed.Otis still wouldn't wake up so Liz had to do the only thing she could do. She had to use her secret weapon. She turned over and stuck her ice cold feet to Otis's shin. Otis jumped out of bed and slammed the snooze button on his alarm.

"God lizzie did you just come from Antarctica with those feet" Otis said rubbing his shins trying to warm up.

"Sorry you wouldn't wake up..... you forced me to use my secret weapons" Liz said laughing

"Oh yeah well I have a secret weapon of my own"Otis said holding up his hands

Liz knew exactly what that meant so she jumped out of the bed and ran into the living room trying to get away from Otis. Otis ran around the couch and grabbed Liz by her waist. He picked her up and sat her down on the couch and started tickling her.

"No please you know this is my weakness." Liz said laughing uncontrollably

"Well you shouldn't have stuck your ice chunks you call feet on me" Otis said with a big smile.

"Ok...ok we have to go to work." Liz said crying from laughter

They both ran back into the bedroom and slipped on their clothes. Liz went into the closet and got her badge and gun out of the safe. She clipped her badge to her belt and her gun in her holster.

"I just cant believe they gave you a gun"Otis said as liz threw a pillow at him.

"And I cant believe they let you drive the truck oh wait that's right..." liz said with an evil grin on her face

"That was cold....like your feet"

Liz's phone started vibrating in her back pocket,and when she pulled it out it was from Antonio.

(Text from Antonio)

"Hey we got a case"

"Ok"

"You ok?"

"Yeah why do u ask?"

"I dont know....I'm just worried about you"

"Why ....I'm ok"

"That's why....ok...I dont know I'm just being a big bro...I'll see you soon"

"Ok love u😘"

"Love you to"

Liz looked back up from her phone confused.

"That was weird"

"What's wrong" Otis said while he was putting on his boots

"I dont know...Antonio just seemed...off"

"I dont know...I'm sure hes ok its Antonio...you know how he is."

"Yeah I guess your right"

"I've gotta go...I love you babe" liz said giving Otis a kiss on the forehead.

"Love you to"

Liz ran out to her car and drove to the location. When she arrived she got out of the car and walked over to the rest of her unit.

"What have we got"

"16 year old female was shot and robbed"jay said shaking his head

"Do we have a name"

"Carly Andrews" jay said

Liz started looking around the scene by the bushes to see if there was any type of clues when she heard crying coming from behind a bush. She climbed through the bush and bent down to find a little girl crying. She motioned for Antonio to come over.

"Hey sweetie it's ok I'm the police...are you alone out here"

"My sisters"

"Who's your sisters"

"Carly and Ellie"

Liz looked at Antonio with disappointment.

"Ok come with me alright... can you tell me your name?"

"Lucy"

"Ok Lucy I'm Liz....im gonna take you with me in the police car....do you know where Ellie is and how old she is?"

"A man took her with him....carly told me to hide.....ellie's 6"

"Ok....did you know the man that took your sister"

"No"

"Can you tell me what he looked like"

"He was tall and he had a blue jacket on"

"Ok that's good sweetie....ok have you ever ridden in a police car!"

"No"

"Come with me and we're gonna take a ride ok"

"Ok"

Liz reached her hand out and walked the Lucy over to her car. She buckled her in and said

"I'll be right back"

Liz walked back over to her unit.

"Listen we have a young girl missing...Lucy said she didnt know who he was"

"Did you get a description" Voight asked

"Yeah...a tall Male wearing a blue jacket"

"Ok...take her back to the station see if she can remember anything else."

"Ok...Al you riding with me?"

"Yeah" Alvin said

Voight called over the radio and said

"We have a 6 year old missing girl. The offender is a tall Male wearing a blue jacket....working on more information....everybody needs to be on this Now!"

Liz and Alvin headed to the car and started driving to the district

"Hey Lucy this is my partner Alvin"

"Hi" Lucy said shyly

"Hi lucy....do you know if we could call you mom or dad."

"No...me and ellie live with carly"

Liz looked at Alvin and tried not to cry.

"Ok...are you hungry"

"Yeah"

"Ok well when we get to the station I'm gonna take you to the vending machine and we can get you something to eat and talk some more."

Liz pulled up to the station and helped Lucy get out of the car. Liz,Lucy,and Alvin walked up to the district and up the stairs. Alvin walked upstairs to the unit and liz walked Lucy over to platt's desk.

"Hey trudy"

"Hey lizzie....who is your friend?"

"This is Lucy"

"Hi Lucy I'm Trudy"

"Hi"

"Me and Lucy are gonna go to the vending machines and get some snacks."

"Ok....you need anything"

"Yeah (liz turned to lucy)hey can you go sit right over there for a second.(liz turned back to Trudy) I need you to put out a missing person's report on Ellie Andrew's.....and look to see if they have any relatives that are still living."

"Ok no problem"

Liz walked over to Lucy and took her to the vending machines and got her some snacks. She took her up to the unit and sat her down in the break room.

"Hey Lucy can you tell me if you heard anything"

"I heard a loud bang.....where is Carly"

Just then Jay walked into the room.

"Hey ladies....what's going on"

"Lucy this is jay"

"Hi Lucy it's very nice to meet you" jay said reaching his fist out

"Nice to meet you to" Lucy said giving him a fist bump

"Ow! your strong" jay said holding his fist

Jay sat down at the coffe table with liz and Lucy and started asking some more questions.

"Lucy do you remember Carly or Ellie saying anything"

"Carly the man that she didnt have it."

"Can you tell me what 'it' is"

"Carly told me not to tell anyone"

Liz cut in and said

"You can trust me ok"

"She sells white stuff....she told me she does it so she can keep us fed....she told me that I would understand one day."

"Ok...can you tell me if she said anything after that."

"The man said he was going to take Ellie until Carly could give him the white stuff....then Carly told me to hide....but Carly didnt want Ellie to go so she ran at the man and I heard a loud bang."

"Ok...after you heard the bang did you hear the man say anything else?"

"He was gonna take Ellie with him on a ride to his special place"

"Did he say where his special place was."

"No"

"Ok thank you very much Lucy.....me and Jay have to go ok so can you go sit with Trudy downstairs...you know I think she has some coloring books"

"Yeah!"

Liz and jay took Lucy back to Trudy. Liz pulled Trudy aside and asked

"Did you find anything?"

"No...looks like all of their relatives are deceased...do you want me to call dss?"

"Not until we find Ellie...thanks though I'll give you a call."

"No problem"

Liz called Antonio

(On the phone with Antonio)

"Dawson"

"This is the other Dawson"

"Hey lizzie"

"Hey...what have we got?"

"We just got a lead...who are you with voight told me Alvin was back at the station filling out some paperwork."

"I'm with jay... where is the lead"

"Meet me and Erin at 564 oakwood drive"

"Ok...on the way....you ok."

"Yeah...I'm fine...we can talk about it later...love you"

Liz hung up the phone and sighed. Jay looked at liz and said

"You ok?"

"Yeah...I'm worried about Antonio"

"Oh yeah"

"Jay do you know something I dont"

"Spill it"

"please dont tell him I told you this because he would kill me.....he doesnt want you to get married...he thinks that you wont need him anymore."

"Aw....Toni"

They pulled up to the scene and quickly drew their guns and got out of the car. They met Erin and Antonio at the cars. As they were talking two shots rang out and Jay and Liz hit the ground. Antonio and Erin pulled Jay and Liz behind the cars and checked them. Antonio frantically checked Liz.

"Lizzie it didnt go through....are you ok."

"I'm good...is Jay ok" liz said hoarsely

"Yeah hes fine"

"Ok then let's go....shots fired at the police 564 oakwood drive"

As backup and the rest of intelligence arrived voight approached Antonio,jay,Erin,and liz.

"Is everybody ok"

"Yeah" liz said

"Then why is there a hole in you and Jay's vests"

"We're fine"

"Ok but when we're done both of you are going to med to get checked out."

"Ok."

"Antonio, Kevin get around back...Jay Erin block off the street...Liz,Alvin I want you on the roof..you know what to do."

Liz and Alvin grabbed their guns and headed to the roof across the street. They set up their guns and positioned them in the window and got a visual on the suspect and Ellie.

"We have a visual on Ellie and the offender." Alvin said over the radio.

"Hold your positions....I'm getting contact...do we have a name."voight said over the radio

"Chris benson"

(Voight on the phone with Chris)

"Hello"

"This is sergeant Hank voight"

"Listen get all of your guys out of here or the girl dies"

"Ok listen Chris just stay calm...we dont want anyone getting hurt...just come out with your hands in the air."

"Listen get all of your people out of here"

"You know I cant do that...we need the girl ok"

"No shes my way out"

"Listen you need to.."

"I'm done talking"

At that the man hung up the phone and voight came over the radio.

"Do you have a clear shot"

"Negative"Alvin said

"Liz do you"

"Yes"

".....do it..."

Liz lined up the shot and took it. The man fell to the floor and Anotnio and Kevin breached the back door and grabbed Ellie who was tied up in the corner.

"We have Ellie"

Everyone gathered back at the cars and met up with voight.

"Good job everyone...go home... except Liz and Jay."

"Ok I'm gonna take Ellie back to the station after she gets checked out and then I'll go"

"Ok...but I mean it"

"I'll go with her"

Liz texted Trudy and told them to call DSS. Liz,jay and Ellie headed back to the station and found Lucy at the counter.

"Hey Lucy look who we found"

"ELLIE!!!" Lucy said as she ran over and hugged Ellie

"Listen Trudy is gonna wait with you girls until someone comes to get you ok."

"Is it Carly?"

"Listen girls....Carly....isnt coming back...I'm so sorry." Liz said bending down and hugging both of them tightly.

"If you need me you call me ok" liz said handing Lucy a slip of paper with her number on it.

"I wanna stay with you..."Lucy said crying

The Agents from DSS had just arrived

"I'm sorry but these people are amazing and they are gonna find you a place to live."

"Can I call you when we get there"

"Any time you need me you call i dont care what time it is."

"Bye liz"

"Bye Lucy...bye Ellie." Liz said one last time hugging them as they were taken out of the district.

Jay and Erin jumped into his car and started driving to the hospital.

"Hey lizzie you ok"

"Yeah...rough day" liz said tearing up

"I'm sorry lizzie."

"Yeah let's just get this over with."

They pulled up to the hospital and walked into the ED.

"Hey you two" Maggie said

"Hey mags" jay said

"What can I do for you"

"We just need to get checked out...we both caught one in the vest."

"Ok I'll get Will and Natalie."

Maggie went and got Will and Natalie and sent Liz and Jay into the rooms.

Natalie walked into Liz's room a d said

"Hey lizzie"

"Hey Nat"

"I heard what happened so...are you feeling any pain."

"Im just a little sore...nothing unusual"

Natalie lifted up Liz's shirt and saw all of the scars.

"Your incisions healed very well."

"Yeah..."

"You ok...rough day"

"Yeah...had kids involved...I cant say much more."

"I understand....your all cleared...I hope you feel better."

"Thanks Nat" liz said as they both hugged

Liz walked out and waited for Jay. When Jay was done they walked out to the car and he started to drive Liz to her apartment.

"Hey if you need to take off tomorow...."

"No I'm fine"

"Ok...just get some sleep...their in good hands"

"Yeah thanks for the ride Jay" liz said to him as he pulled up to Otis's appartment.

"No problem"Jay said with a sigh

Liz walked up the steps and grabbed her keys. As she unlocked the door she found Otis passed out asleep on the couch. As she walked into the bedroom and started putting on her pajamas her phone started ringing.

(On the phone)

"Hello?"

"Hello...is this Liz"

"Who is this?"

"Lucy and Ellie"

"Hey!! How are you doing"

"Good we got a new home with really nice people."

"Good...I'm so happy for you two....I'll have to talk to your new parents and I might be able to stop by and check on you."

"YAY!!"

"Ok well you better get some sleep you've had a long day"

"Ok bye liz"

"Bye girls"

"Love you"

"...I love you too...bye"

Liz sat down and started crying. She wish she could have done more. Otis walked into the bedroom groggily and saw liz crying on the bed.

"Hey lizzie....its ok...rough day?"

"Yeah" liz said still crying into Otis's shoulder

"Its ok let's just try to get some sleep."

Liz sat there and cried into Otis's shoulder until she fell asleep. Otis layed liz and himself back in the bed and fell asleep. They where both excited about the wedding and they knew they would be happy but the hardest part would be waiting.
