Juvias POV
We entered the ball and the announcer called out Lucy's name. The entire room fell silent. Whispers of complements and jealousy flooded the room. The announcer asked for my name but I shook my head and walked down the stairs with my head held low. What was I thinking!? Lucy's gonna get into so much trouble if I get caught I thought as I walked towards the back.

"Gray Fulbuster!" The announcer called as Gray-sama and another figure walked down the stairs. I went to leave when Lucy grabbed my hand.

"Come on, you came this far" she said dragging me to where Gray-sama was surrounded by girls. This isn't going to end well I thought as I was pushed though the barricade of girls by my so called best friend Lucy. I was so nervous I tripped over and fell onto someone.

"S-sorry" I bowing to the victim of my clumsiness without looking them in the eye.

"It's ok, just be careful" a familiar voice said. Gray-sama?! I thought. In looked up and our eyes met. I'm glad I was wearing a mask because my face had turned completely red.

"My names Gray, would you like to dance?" He asked holding out him hand. Yes! Yes! YES!!! I said in my head, but I had to decline. I only came here to meet him I thought to myself.

"She would love to" Lucy said pushing me forward.

"Great" Gray-sama said taking my hand. I look back to see Lucy smirking and talking to the guy that was with Gray-sama.

"You look beautiful by the way" he says as we start to waltz.

"Thank you" I say not daring to look into his eyes. We danced until 11pm and decided to stop. My feet really hurt I sighed as he wouldn't let me out of his sight. We walked over and sat down at a table.

"Do you know this castle well?" He asked me. I only nodded as he smiled.

"I haven't had time to look at the garden, mind showing me around?" He asked standing up and holding out a hand. Well a maid can't say no to royalty I thought taking his hand. We walked outside to the garden and we walked over to the bench and sat down. He sat down next to me and smiled.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I looked at him. He leaned in close and placed his hand on my cheek. His warm breath hit my cheek, sending shivers up my spine. The clock struck 12pm and I broke apart.

"What's wrong?" He asked a little disappointed.

"I-I'm sorry, but I can't" I say standing up.

"But why?" He asks standing as well. I turn to run away when someone stood in my way. Lucy's father?! I thought as I took a step back.

"Juvia what on earth are you wearing! Get inside and start your chores!" He yells making me wince under his voice.

"You have no right to talk to this girl like that!" Gray-sama said stepping in front of me. No Gray-sama, don't I thought as he guarded me from the king.

"Oh I don't, do I. I believe she works for me! And a maid who's late to work gets punished" He yelled ripping off my mask, showing my face. A tear rolls down my face as I look to the ground. He grabs me by neck and shoves me to the floor. He rips off my dress to leave me in my underwear.

"How dare you steal this dress from your mistress! You will go without food for a week!" He yelled lifting my up by my hair.

"A maid" I heard Gray mumble.

"Now get to work!" He yelled and shoved me forward.

"Juvia!"

Lucy's POV
After Gray took Juvia away I started to talk to his friend Natsu. After a while he asked me to dance. I accepted his offer and we danced for what seemed like eternity. He then lead me to the balcony and we talked and laughed together. I look down to see Juvia and Gray walking around the garden and then sat on a bench. So cute I thought as I turned to look at Natsu. His hair blew lightly in the wind making my heart skip a beat. He looks over to me and smiles. His hand gently touches my cheek and his thumb caresses it. We lean in and his lips brush against mine. After a little while we broke apart and a smile and blush covered both of our faces. I turn away to try and hide it when I see my father walking over to Juvia.

"Juvia?!" I panicked and ran down with Natsu following.

"Juvia!" I yell when they get into vision.

"Your so called maid stole from your best dresses, she must be punished!" My father yelled as he held her from the hair. She was in pain as she tried to free her hand.

"I was th-" I tried to explain to father when Juvia cut in.

"I know you were the one who gave me a job and a home but it was too tempting! And I would do it again!" She yelled crying. Juvia? I thought as she was thrown onto the ground.

"You will take her back and dress her in her rags, then it's no food for 2 WEEKS and you will clean the ball room, attend to all the washing, meal and not only will you be Lucy's personal maid, but Natsu and Grays as well. If you fail to reach these requirements, you will go back to the life you had!" Her yelled at me as he started to walk off.

"I'm starting to think that life was better" I mumble but he still heard. He once again picked me up by the head and punished me in the face. He apologised to Gray and Natsu as he walked off.

"Juvia are you ok?! Why did you do that?!" I asked panicked.

"He would have been furious with you if he found out you helped" she said slightly crying.

"Here, let's get you cleaned up" I say helping her up. She took a step forward and collapsed. Gray offered her a hand but she got up herself.

"Lucy you stay here at the ball, I know where to go" she said walking forward.

"Your not going by yourself" I say looking at her.

"It wasn't a request Lucy, it was a demand" she said walking off. I'm so sorry Juvia
