Chapter 9/ Freedom!
"We're almost there, Mint! Just turn right, around this last corner." Stef instructed encouragingly. Mint was tired by this point. It felt like hours since she had met Stef and started following his instructions to the exit.
She began sprinting down the hall and turned right, around the next corner. Just a few blocks in front of her was an iron door. Right above it was a torch, however, it wasn't necessary at the moment because rays of light flooded in through the window-like holes in the door. Both Stef and Mint stared in awe of the light, overwhelmingly appreciative of it's call to freedom. The iron door however didn't have any button, pressure plate, or leaver to open it. And if Mint did somehow manage to make a button of some kind, she had a suspicion that opening the door would only set off an alarm that would give their escape away.
"Well, what are we going to do now?" Stef asked, understanding the problem perfectly. Without answering, Mint punched the door with her left fist. Surprisingly, the door budged a little, and even a few cracks appeared in it's surface. But soon after the cracks vanished as the door magically repaired itself. "Got any better ideas?" Stef asked sarcastically.if he had a face, he'd probably be smiling judgementally.
"You have any ideas?" Mint asked back with Stef's bounce-back sarcasm.
"How about you use me to break the door? I might only be a stone sword, but I am better than a fist." It sounded like something he wouldn't be serious about, but Stef's voice was 100% serious. With little hesitation, Mint slammed Stef against the iron door, wondering if he even felt pain or anything. Apparently he didn't, because Stef made no fuss or comment, seeming to not even care.
Mint continued banging her new friend against the door. More and more cracks began to appear, then, the door was gone. Nothing left of it but a few iron pixels which slowly sunk into the ground. They were free at last.
"Yes!" Mint exclaimed. The light rushed into her eyes and as they adjusted, she began to see trees, hills, flowers, clouds, sky, and animals.
"Finally! I've been stuck in that tunnel for years!!" Stef shouted in relief.
"How did you even get in there?" Mint asked.
"Long story short: I have been passed around a lot from person to person. I had been stolen by some noob player, though I never saw any 'missing' signs or anything for me; of course, it WOULD be a little weird to find a missing post or for a stone sword, especially one with a name. I guess I just hoped Jade might have cared a little more after all the adventures we had been through together." Stef sighed. "Anyway!" He continued. "The noob eventually dropped me after finding some iron, and I had just been sitting there since."
"Wow. Sounds like you could write an entire book on all your adventures." Mint chuckled.
"Ha! Already done! I wrote one YEARS ago!" Stef said without an ounce of sarcasm in his voice. "It's just that no one really wants to publish a book about a basic sword. I might have to eventually give it to Candy for her to publish." Stef said with a huffy voice. All Mint could do was ask,
"Wait.. how did you write a book?"
"It's amazing how voice to text can be." Stef shrugged. Well, he would have had he any shoulders. Remembering their situation, Mint walked down the small hill and into the peaceful forest.. with no idea how lucky she was to have just escaped.

Sorry some of these are so short. Journals don't exactly have word-count. :]
