Chapter 3/ maybe
"How long 'till we get there?" Both Mint and Pepper took turns asking as the minutes dragged into hours.
"We're halfway there." Aunt Ev finally answered. "Man you guys are almost as persistent as Ivelaya, and that's saying something!" She grinned and looked at them knowing a question was coming her way.
"Who is Ivelaya?" Pepper asked.
"Your older cousin." Aunt Ev said smiling.
"From which of the five siblings?" Mint asked as she poked her head from the other side of Pepper, smiling back.
"You're looking at her." Aunt Ev almost whispered her answer. He girls' mouths dropped open. Smiling the way girls do while talking about boys. The twins giggled with eachother and hugged Aunt Ev as if she had just told them she was pregnant. It seemed like it since before then they hadn't even known Aunt Ev had married.
"Where is she?!" Both Mint and Pepper asked at the same time. Aunt Ev giggled.
"She's at the house, babysitting Katy's kids while Katy's on a week long vacation with her husband in Oniphai."
"Katy is in Oniphai?!" Mint asked, almost jumping over Pepper. "Isn't that an entirely different world?! I thought no one was allowed to go through portals accept for the 'Voices of The Living."
"She is one of 'The Voices of The Living.' She is one of the three representatives of Duriel along with me, and Chloe." Aunt Ev was stopped there.
"Wait! The Chloe?! As in, Queen Chloe? The ruler over all of Duriel!?" Pepper popped.
"Yup!" Aunt Ev said with a proud smile on her face. Both girls were so shocked by the new information, they stopped walking and jumped around, extatic, and hugged Aunt Ev again.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" Both girls asked.
"I did, but I guess you were too young to care and quickly forgot. I guess I never thought to tell you again." Aunt Ev giggled at the two sixteen year old girls jumping around as if they were five again. They started walking again and the questions began poring into Aunt Ev's ears. She answered question after question for about an entire hour, but she didn't mind. She liked talking with her nieces she had missed, and at least they weren't asking, "Are we there yet?" Aanymore.
After a while, the questions died down and the forest they were walking through was silent. A few peaceful minutes passed, nothing but the gentle wind blowing through their hair could be heard. But then Mint looked up at Aunt Ev with the same playful face most girls have while playing: "Truth or Dare," and asked with a giggle.
"Who's the lucky guy?" Mint giggled. Aunt Ev almost jumped back at the randomness of the question.
"What do you mean?" She looked over at Mint surprised.
"You know what I mean." Mint teased. "Who'd you marry?" Aunt Ev then laughed hapily.
"Well, he was the sweater man I knew." She sighed at her own memories. "We didn't meet like most romance stories start. In fact, at first we were unannounced enemies." She chuckled while looking into the sky at some memory the twins didn't know about. Aunt Ev, still smiling, continued; "I never thought we'd marry, but we did." Aunt Ev's smile then dropped with her head as she looked down at her feet. "I had never thought I'd fall in love when I was younger... And I know I never will again.."
The twins looked at her with sad faces as they thought about what she had said.
"I'm sorry," Pepper whispered. "What happened?" She didn't want to hurt her aunt's feelings but was too curious to keep herself from asking. Until Ev looked at her with an understanding look and smiled a bit.
"It was a time of war," She started. "Me and your uncle were fighting before you were even born. Our generals always put us together since they knew we would have eachother's backs. But I didn't have his when he needed it most." Nothing changed as she talked, accept for a silent tear fell down her face. "I wasn't able to reach him until he was already on the floor, with no hope of getting back up.. I had Ivelaya several months later.. For so many years I blamed myself for his death even though there was nothing I could have done. Aunt Ev smiled sadly, wondering if they would say anything. Then she continued. "Any way, I started wandering about. One thing lead to another and then I found out your mom got married. I always knew she would, but I was still shocked. By then I had already killed the Ender Dragon more than once and went on many more 'world saving' adventures with my friends and was even considered a 'hero.' But I was still wandering around when I heard your mom was pregnant and then I decided I would come over as soon as fast as I could. It had been a while since I had last seen any of my siblings and I had a lot to catch up on. Long story short, you two were born and I finally decided to build a house of my own. I chose to build my house next to May City, I mean, 'Old' May city. Because it's still a pretty charming place to walk through. And things have been pretty peaceful since." By the time Aunt Ev had finished talking she was smiling again.
A few peaceful minutes passed and then suddenly in the clear blue sky, a black dot appeared. It looked like a black hole, and it started moving towards them. The sky grew darker and the mild calming breeze turned into a vicious wind that tore at the leaves on the trees and tried to push the three girls over. The twins ran behind their aunt, causing her to be the one between them and the voidish vortex, which kept creeping closer. Lightning began to strike and the ground began to shake. The twins were shaking, terrified of what might happen to them, as their aunt stood protectively in front of them. All three of them stared at the black sphere with blank or terrified faces. Once it got close enough, probably about ten blocks away, the sphere turned into black smoke and once that cleared away it revealed a man with brown hair, purple pants , a blue shirt, and glowing white eyes. The two twins looked up in horror at the man and shouted;
"Herobrine!!"
