~#17. Deep Conversing~
Ruhana and Myra meet Vineet at Cafe Lounge. He’s elated to have them for lunch. Myra greets him cheerfully, for she kind of likes him. When Ruhana says that she must thank someone else, Myra disagrees. Meanwhile, Vineet looks at her and smiles.
“Myra, tumhe aisa kyun lagta hain ki koi aur tumhe khush nahi kar sakta,ya koi aur hamesha galat hi hoga?” Vineet asks her.
“Maine aisa kab kaha? Aur waise bhi mere liye Di se zyada important koi nai hain.” Myra says.
“Par iska ye matlab toh nahi na ki tum sabko ek jaisa samjho! Mujhe koi shikayat nahi hain, aur na hi main ye jaanta hoon ki tumhare aur Vedant ke beech kya hua tha, tum kyun usse ladti ho, mujhe nahi pata. Kyunki, it’s okay! Jaise meri aur Ruhanaji ki dosti alag hain, waise hi shayad tumhari aur Vedant ki banters wali bonding alag hain.” He says it and pauses.
“Par ye bhi sach hain, Myra, ki tumhe Vedant ne hi bachaya tha. Han, usne mujhe bataya ki kaise tumne usey accuse kiya, par wo bhool ke bhi usne tumhe dushmanon se chhudaya, tumhe hospital leke gaya aur phir ghar pe laaya.” Vineet says, and Myra is tongue-tied.
Even her sister has praised Vedant. Myra realises that she misunderstood Vedant, and here, his brother is not complaining but explaining to her. Vineet looks at the two sisters, especially Myra.
“Myra, main ye nahi keh raha ki tum kisi par bhi bharosa kar lo, nahi! Aisa nahi karna chahiye. Lekin har kisi pe shak karna, unhe bina sach jaane accuse karna bhi toh galat hai na! Kyunki kisi ne tumhare sath bura kiya, zaroori nahi ki sabhi log waise honge. I hope you’re getting my point.” He looks at Myra, who's at a loss of words.
“He’s right, Myra. It’s okay if you don’t want to befriend, but you could at least apologise to Vedant.” Ruhana says this while looking at her sister.
“Rishtey waqt ke sath majboot hote hain, Myra. Aur koi bhi rishta ek din mein nahi banta. Waise hi tum kisi ko dekh kar assumptions nahi bana sakti. Aur na hi unhe ek baar dekhne se ya ek baar milne se unhe jaan sakti ho.” He says this, his eyes never leaving Myra’s face.
“Aur haan, ye mat samajhna ki mujhe tumhari baaton ka bura laga hain. Bas main tumhe jitna jaan paaya hoon, us hisab se bol raha hoon. Main tumhe judge bhi nahi kar raha, lekin main jaanta hoon ki kuch aisa hain jo aap dono chhupaa rahe ho. Main nahi jaanna chahta lekin aise apne bhai ko takleef mein bhi nahi dekh sakta!” He further states this, looking at Ruhana and Myra.
Myra is sitting quietly. She has gotten the gist of Vineet’s words. She doesn’t have any answers to respond, nor does she have the courage to reply back to Vineet. If it had been Ruhana, she’d have cut it, but she can’t do it when Vineet is speaking. After all, they barely know each other. She realises that her sister has been explaining the same thing to her for the last two days, but she doesn’t want to believe it.
It’s all because of the bad deeds of the most important person in their lives. They never thought he’d doit,t but it happened, and now Myra doesn’t believe anyone. She has realised that she’s really done something that is not forgivable.
“I am sorry. Aap thik keh rahe hain. Mujhe yun Vedant se bhala bura nahi kehna chahiye tha. Di bhi yahi kehti hain ki main apne gusse pe control karun, lekin mujhse nahi ho paata. I am really sorry. “ She says, her tone is filled with guilt.
“Thanks, Vineet.” Ruhana says, thanking him for his gesture.
“Isme kaisa thanks, Ruhana? Ye toh mera farz tha. I am glad that Myra understood.” Vineet says it softly.
“Main samajh gayi hoon, Di. I was wrong. I will talk to Vedant.” Myra says this, her eyes hanging down.
“I hope the same. You can take your time to open up, but you should at least speak up and not judge.” Vineet says it again, and Myra nods.
The trio has their lunch, and then Myra and Ruhana return to the boutique.
*****
All through the ride, Myra had been quiet, and Ruhana understood it. She didn’t want her to take their conversation otherwise. She checks on the work and heads into her cabin, where her sister is already sitting.
She sits beside her sister and cups her face.
“Tu thik hai na?” Ruhana asks.
“Yes, Di! I am fine.” Myra responds softly.
“Kuch kehna hai? Dekh tu Vineet ji ki baaton ko otherwise mat lena. Usne wahi kaha jo sahi tha. Tu bhi jaanti hain na ki kya sahi hai kya galat?” She asks softly.
“Main jaanti hoon, Di. Vineet ji ne thik hi kaha, maine directly Vedant ko judge kia. Main aapko kuch keh deti hun but unko nahi kah paayi. I realised that I was wrong.” Myra says softly.
“Ab jab tu ye samajh gayi hain, tujhe pata hai na tujhe kya karna hain?” Ruhana asks softly.
“Haan Di, main sham ko hi Vedant se baat karungi. I am sorry, maine aapko bhi hurt kia.” Myra apologises.
Ruhana says nothing but hugs her sister, she’s happy that Myra has realised her mistake. She pats her cheek and asks her to message Vedant. Myra smiles and agrees with her sister and Ruhana gets busy with her work.
*****
Vedant is in the police station and has just finished a case. He’s finalising the paperwork when he receives a message and he’s surprised that the message is from Myra and she’s insisting him to meet her. He responds to her message and agrees to meet her.
Later that evening, when Vedant reaches Hotel BlueMoon, he finds Myra waiting for him already. He takes a seat and is about to say something, but Myra says something, leaving him touched and astonished.
To Be Continued.
Did Myra apologize to Vedant?
Stay tuned.
