Once again, Hermione had no one to talk with.

Except a certain someone named Andrew 'Andy' Mayfair of course.

It was not that Hermione didn't enjoy his company. She did. But she longed for someone else's company at that time. A certain someone who was not there at the moment.

Draco Malfoy's company.

It would not be wrong to say that she missed talking to Draco right now. It had only been an hour since he had gone and she was already missing his company.

God, what was happening to her?

With a sigh, she stood up from the couch in their common room and went to the joined kitchen. She decided to just make herself some tea and have some cookies since she wasn't that hungry to go down for dinner in the Great Hall.

She poured the tea into her mug, grabbed a jar of cookies that she had brought from home over a month ago, placed them on a tray and took it to her room. 

She sat down on her bay window, that looked over to the grounds of Hogwarts, with the tray in her lap. 

She remembered their last talk as she slowly took a sip from her tea.

Flashback

"Granger, do you want to go to Hogsmeade?"

"Yeah. I need to buy some things I need."

"So, are you going then?" Draco asked her.

"No, I don't have any company to go with." She answered.

"Why? Are Potter and Weaslette not going?" 

"No, they are going. But Harry had taken Ginny to Hogsmeade as a date. He told me that I could come if I want to, since we three haven't hanged out together in a long time, but I didn't want to interfere in their date, so I declined." She told him.

"Finny face?" He asked.

"Finny face who- Oh you mean Seamus? He's going with Dean. They are a good company, mind you, but they talk awfully lot about Quidditch and nothing else. Bit boring if you ask me." She said. 

"Oh... Then what about Blaise and Theo? I reckon they are free." 

"No, they aren't. They are serving detention. I heard that they were making fun of Seamus during McGonagall's class. And as a result, they have detention till day after tomorrow." She said.

"So they won't be able to go to Hogsmeade. But anyway, I think Finny Face deserved whatever they told him." He said as he smirked.

"You and your beliefs." Hermione said as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Whatever...what about Loony?" He asked after a moment or so.

"She's going with Neville. There were couple before. You didn't know?" She asked him.

"Oh...so how about- wait, what about Blaise? You remember that he has a crush on Luna?" He asked her.

"Yeah, I remember. And did you hear what I said? There were a couple before. Probably a month after the battle. But they broke up before we started Hogwarts this year. Luna said that she liked them better as friends." Hermione told him.

"So, they are going just as friends?" He asked her.

"Yeah. Don't worry. Neville told me that he likes Hannah now. And he asked Luna to come with him to give him ideas on how to confess it to her." She said.

"Okay. So there is no one that you can go with?" He asked her.

"No. There is no-wait, what about you? You are free, right? You haven't got any detention and you are not going with anyone else, as much as I know. So, will you go with me?" She asked him.

Draco dreaded this question. He didn't want to say her no, but he had to. After all, he did have somewhere to go to.

"Umm...Granger...I am sorry but I cannot come with you. I have to go somewhere." He apologised to her.

"Ohh...well, it's okay. If you don't mind, can I ask where are you going?" She asked him.

"Yeah. I don't mind. I am actually going to see my mother." He answered her.

"Oh. In the Malfoy Manor right?" She asked him.

"Yeah, why?"

"Because you will need McGonagall's permission to go there." She said in a 'duh' tone.

"I know that. And I have already taken her permission before. She said I could go and visit my mother after I told her that I have to go and see how she is doing after my father's trial." He explained it to her.

"Ohkay. Well, I think you should go then." Hermione said as she stood up.

"I am sorry again. I will see you later. I will probably be back by an hour after midnight, I guess." Draco said as he stood up and went towards the portrait. Just before stepping out, he decided to say something. He knew he would regret it later on, but he didn't want her to be alone. So, he turned towards her and said, "You can call Mayfair here, if you want. Or you can go with him to Hogsmeade."

And without waiting for an answer, he stepped out and closed the portrait behind him, leaving Hermione standing there with her mouth open, an expression of shock on her face.

Flashback ends

She was about to finish her tea when she heard a knock at the portrait. She thought she had imagined it but then she heard the person in the portrait calling out her name and she heard it clearly since she had left her bedroom door open. 

Hermione walked out of her bedroom and opened the portrait. 

Standing there in front of her, with a smile on his face, was none other then Andrew Mayfair.

"Hey Andy! What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Hey Hermione! I came here to give you some company, I guess. Actually Draco asked or more like ordered me to come and talk to you. He said that you didn't have anyone to go with to Hogsmeade. So do you want to go?" He asked her.

"Umm...Sorry Andy, I don't really feel like going there right now. Do you want to come inside and talk?" She asked him.

"Yeah, it's cool. I would like to talk to you." He said and they both entered the common room. 

"I will just bring some tea and cookies. Just wait a few minutes." She said and left after he nodded in response. 

She returned after a few minutes with a tray with a cup and a jar of cookies on it in her hands. They simply talked for a while until Hermione asked him a question that he didn't want to answer to anyone.

"Shall we talk about your past?" She asked, catching him off guard.

"W-why? I mean, why the sudden interest?" He said.

"I want to know more about you. Like you know some things about my past and I know none about yours. I just want to know some things about your past, like what was your life like in Durmstrang, if you would like?" She asked him.

"Okay. I think it would be okay to talk about that. But will it be okay of I don't answer some of your questions about my past?" He asked her.

"Sure. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable." She replied.

They spend the next hour by talking about his past. Andy skipped some of the question asked by her but overall, he thought it didn't hurt to talk to her about his past or his life, something which he didn't like to talk about to anyone. But, he thought, she was special, she was different and he was glad he got to meet her.

"Hey, I didn't know you would be awake now." Draco said as he entered the portrait.

"Hey. I didn't know you would be back by midnight." Hermione said as she stood up. She had been reading a book while sitting on the couch in their common room.

"Careful Granger, I think you are falling for me. Otherwise why would you be waiting for me?" Draco smirked at her.

"Careful Mafloy, I think you are head over heels for me. Otherwise why would you come early just to meet me?" She smirked back at him.

They stared at each other for a second before bursting out laughing. "Nice one, Granger. You are improving." Draco said as he laughed.

"Anyway, why are you early?" She asked him.

"Oh...well I went to see my mother and I spend some time with her but she told me to go back." He said.

"Why?" 

Draco thought that she would leave the matter and not ask any further questions but of course, he was wrong. 

"Well, some people had come over to meet her and she was pretty busy at that time. She is fine after the trial, though. She is excited for my father to come back." He said.

"That's good. And by the way, thanks for asking or more like ordering Andy to come here." She said and rolled her eyes at him.

He smirked and asked, "So you guys went to Hogsmeade?" 

"No, I didn't really feel like going at that time. So we just talked a bit and studied for a little while afterwards." She replied. Draco didn't know why, but he felt a bit of happiness mixed with a bit of sadness when he heard her reply.

"I think we should probably go to bed. It's past midnight now." He said and bid her goodnight.

"And here are the Ravenclaws!" Lee Jordan announced as the second game of the Quidditch season, Ravenclaw versus Hufflepuff started.

A week later, the Quidditch spirit was back among the students. It was the second game and people were really excited to see the Hufflepuff team, since they said that they have a new seeker.

"This year they have a new captain, Andrew Mayfair, who is the seeker for the Ravenclaw team as well. Since their former seeker, Cho Chang, decided to change her position to a Chaser, he will be the Seeker. He is a transferee from Durmstrang and from what I have heard from some of the Ravenclaws, he is an awesome player. He currently rides-" 

"Jordan! Introduce the other players too!" McGonagall interrupted him.

"Of course Professor, I know you are the Headmistress but you will always be my beloved Professor. Here are the other players..." 

Hermione's eyes were wide open when she heard that Andy was the Seeker as well as the Captain of the Ravenclaw team. Andy hadn't told her about it. He had juat mentioned that he would like to be on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, last week, when Draco had gone to visit his mother. She turned towards Ginny and Harry who were on either side of her, only to see them with the same expression of shock. Harry told her that the Ravenclaw team didn't tell anyone about the players playing for their team that year. Whenever anyone asked them about it, they refused to say anything. Ginny said that apparently only  Headmistress McGonagall, Madam Hooch and Lee Jordan knew about it.

After he had introduced the others Ravenclaw players and the Hufflepuff players and the captains had shaken their hands as well, the game begin.

"And it's Ravenclaw in possession, Terry Boot of Ravenclaw with the Quaffle, heading straight for the Hufflepuff goal posts, looking good, Terry Argh- Wait, he dodged the bludger sent towards him by Corney Scouge, the Hufflepuff Beater. But the Quaffle is intercepted by Macmillan, Ernie Macmillan of Hufflepuff racing towards the Ravenclaw goal posts- WHAM! Nice Bludger work there by Jiser Kernis, one of the Ravenclaw Beaters, Macmillan drops the Quaffle, it's caught by- Chang, Ravenclaw back in possession-WHAM- Bludger work by Wisan of Hufflepuff and Hannah Abbott, the Hufflepuff Chaser, with the Quaffle- heading straight towards the Ravenclaw goal posts, Niokles, the Ravenclaw Keeper circling the posts- Nikoles save it!-Yes, he saves it- and now it's Ravenclaw back in possession- Padma Patil of Ravenclaw with  the Quaffle- tearing the pitch towards the Hufflepuff goal posts- can she score?- yes, she can- TEN-ZERO TO RAVENCLAW!" 

Meanwhile, Andy and Karlos, the Hufflepuff Seeker, were flying high up in the air, searching for the tiny gold ball. But the Snitch wasn't visible anywhere.

"Andrew Mayfair is circling the pitch on his broom, the Skyblazer. It is the latest edition and is slightly better than the Firebolt in terms of speed. Meanwhile, Karlos is riding a Comet Two Sixety and is seemed to be following Andrew. But he has no chance to beat him on that broom. The Skyblazer is-" 

"Jordan! Tell the scores to everyone!" McGonagall once again interrupted Lee Jordan.

"Of course, Professor. Chang of Ravenclaw is in possession- heading towards the Hufflepuff goal posts- Bivelly, the Hufflepuff Keeper is circling the goal posts- Bivelly, can you save it?- no, he cannot- he fails to save it- Chang scores- TWENTY-ZERO TO RAVENCLAW!" 

Andy was searching everywhere. He also spotted Hermione cheering for Ravenclaw amongst the crowds. She looked over to him and smiled at him. He smiled back and went back to searching for the Snitch after she mouthed a 'good luck' to him.

"Just look at that Skyblazer. It's the best broom currently in the Wizarding World now. And of course it is expensive. Extremely, if I may add. But it's so cool. Look at it turning so smoothly. I bet it-" 

"JORDAN ARE YOU GETTING PAID TO ADVERTISE SKYBLAZERS? GET ON WITH THE COMMENTARY OR I WILL HAPPILY GET SOMEONE ELSE FOR DOING COMMENTARY!" Professor McGonagall shouted at him.

"Sorry Professor. Anyway Ravenclaw is currently in possession with the Quaffle and the score is FIFTY-TWENTY TO RAVENCLAW!" Lee said.

Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff continued to score. The Chasers of Ravenclaw, Cho Chang, Terry Boot and Padma Patil, scored quickly whereas the Hufflepuff Chasers, Ernie Macmillan, Hannah Abbott and Zacharias Smith, weren't able to score quickly. The Ravenclaw Beaters, Jiser Kernis and Percy Wabbleton were sending Bludgers at the Hufflepuff players and were succedding in that too. But the Hufflepuff Beaters, Corney Scouge and Rarn Wisan, too sent the Bludgers at the Ravenclaw players but they dodged it every time. The Ravenclaw Keeper, Eris Nikoles was pretty good at saving the goals and the Hufflepuff Keeper, Denoris Bivelly failed a few times to save the goals. But the Seeker and Captain of Ravenclaw Team, Andrew Mayfair as well as the Seeker of the Hufflepuff Team, Warin Karlos, were flying around the pitch, in search for the tiny golden ball, the Snitch.

"And Zacharias Smith of Hufflepuff scores again- SEVENTY-THIRTY TO RAVENCLAW!" Lee Jordan yelled after some time.

And then Karlos saw something to make him still. Andy was diving, with a look of happiness ane triumph on his face. There, a few feet above the ground below, was a tiny, golden glimmer. Karlos urged his broom downwards, but Andy was miles ahead.

"Come on! Just work this time!" Karlos urged his broom. He was gaining on Andy but he quickly sped up, making more distance between them. Andy flattened himself to the broom handle as Rarn Wisan sent a Bludger at him. He dodged it. Meanwhile Karlos had again gained speed and was at Andy's ankles. He was almost level when Andy threw himself forward and took both handa off his broom. 

Karlos had also done the same and was about to come near the Snitch when Andy finally caught it. He settled back on his broom and flied upwards with a big grin on his face.

"AND THAT'S IT! ANDREW MAYFAIR, THE RAVENCLAW SEEKER, HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH AND RAVENCLAW WINS FROM A HUGE MARGIN! TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY- THRITY TO RAVENCLAW!" Lee Jordan yelled as the game ended.

After everyone on his team hugged and congratulated him, Andy flew towards the ground. There standing waiting for him was his dear friend, Hermione Jean Granger.

"Hey!" Andy said as he ran towards her.

"Hey yourself. You didn't tell me that you are playing for the Ravenclaw team!" Hermione said.

"Oh yeah. About that, I-" He started but Hermione cut him off.

"You didn't tell me you are the Seeker!" 

"I know. I was going-" 

"And more importantly, you didn't tell me that you are the Captain this year!" 

"Woah Woah, slow down!" Andy said as he put his hands on her shoulder in an attempt to make her stop talking.

"The other members of the team told me not to tell anyone about it. Wanted to give everyone some surprise, I guess." He explained it to her.

"Oh...well, it's okay. Anyway, congratulations for winning the game!" She said as Andy removed his hands from her shoulders.

"Thank you. I certainly liked playing here, I was never in the Durmstrang Quidditch Team, you know." He said as he grinned at her.

"Well, you played amazingly for someone who was never on a school Quidditch Team before." Hermione grinned back at him. 

She hugged him after Andy thanked her, in a friendly way. He hugged her back while smiling.

Unknown to them, somone had been watching them and listening to their conversation all that time.

"Hey Luna!"

"Blaise, what are you doing here?" Luna asked him.

"What am I doing in a library? Studying of course." He said as he sat opposite to her.

"No, I mean that what are you doing here on a Sunday? I have never seen you here on weekdays much less on a weekend." She said as she closer book.

"Do you come here to check that if I am here or not? I think you are falling for me, Luna." Blaise said as he smirked at her but mentally slapped himself a moment later. This is not how you talk to a girl for the first time, that too when you have a crush on her, he thought.

"No, I like to study here. It's peaceful, you know." Luna said, unaffected by his comment.

"Oh. Yeah. A library. It's peaceful. Very peaceful." He said, stammering a little.

"I think the Nargles have something to do with the cause of you being here." She said.

"What are Nargles?" He asked her.

"Do you really want to know?" She asked him.

"Yes. Why?" 

"It's just because nobody never actually took a interest in what I say, much less in Nargles." She said.

"Well, I assure you that I have a interest in you- I mean in what you say- I mean in Nargles." He said quickly.

"Well then, meet me here after lunch. I will tell you everything about Nargles." She said and smiled dreamily at him, before leaving.

"She is truly one of a kind." Blaise said as he watched her leaving, a smile on his face.
