Steve's POV

We spent half an hour looking for Elles. We had been fighting off the soldiers when I noticed her walking away slowly as if she was following someone. I hadn't taken it seriously because we were in the middle of a battle even though she looked rather weird.

"But she was here with us right? "Nat asked looking around with her wet hair sticking all over her face.

"Current has a way of wandering off without notice. "Tony commented then his Iron mask covered his face, "Friday, locate Ellesmere!."

"Searching location!"Friday said.

Thor didn't look at all disturbed by her sudden disappearance. He just stared into space. I nudged him in the side making him turn absent mindedly.

"Everything okay? "I asked half watching Tony move around the field with his suit glistening in the twilight.

"Yes, everything is fine.! "He answered faking a smile.

"Look, I know you're worried about her but we'll find her soon enough. She coulda just walked out to check on something that might have caught her attention. "

"I have a trail. "Tony said through Comms and blasted away.

"C'mon Shellhead, not all of us can fly!" Widow yelled flinging her arms frustratingly.

"I'll take you! "Thor said pulling Widow to himself while swinging his hammer and before I could protest, they were already out of sight.

"Great! "I muttered to myself placing my shield securely on my back.

"I'll just enjoy a stroll while you've all gone where I have no idea to. "I grumbled forcing my way through the wet grass.

I walked for almost thirty minutes then I heard Widow's voice over Comms. She sounded panicked.

"Steve? We found her. She's injured and unconscious. She's lost a lot of blood. "

"Where are you? "I asked with a hand on my hip looking backwards. There were just trees and bushes and a sleek road at the far left. The whole place seemed deserted to me.

"Why don't you try turning around? "Tony said. I turned and spotted them a few feet away. Tony had taken off his Iron Man suit and held Ellesmere in his arms. She looked smaller from that much distance.

I rushed towards them with a hand pressed on my earphone "Clint, we're coming back. Elles is injured. Send in the Quinjet "

"Copy that!! "Clint said.

"I don't think you'll be getting back today." A voice said from beside us. A large alien with pale ash skin appeared from the bushes with a lot more trailing behind him. About four hundred of them to be precise. I think he was the "Tigrahn" dude. And he had a lot of friends too.

"More company, Yay! I was starting to think this was boring. "Tony said as his suit covered him.

"I've come to recover something of mine. "He said as his tongue slithered in and out of his mouth, with an emotionless smirk plastered on his face.

"do you have to do that? It's disgusting! "Nat commented whipping  out her tasers.

"Thor, you get Current to safety. We'll handle this punk! "Tony said.

Thor swiftly picked up Ellesmere from the ground. She mumbled something but it was inaudible. He swung his hammer then something like a spear struck him on his left leg.

He fell to his knees dropping Elles and Mjolnir to the ground . The impact of the hammer hitting the ground caused Elles to open her eyes.

She pushed herself up then her eyes shot to Thor who was forcing the spear out of his ankle. Her entire body began to crackle but soon it died down and she slumped to the ground again.

"She's too weak to even save her own self. Such naivety!" Tigrahn said then pointed his "watchamacallit sceptre" at Thor.

Thor stretched his hand out and Mjolnir flew right into his grip. He gave it a powerful throw. The hammer swooped and hit Tigrahn on the head then hit a lot more aliens before swooping back into Thor's hand.

Thor had made the first move. We were fiercely attacked the next second with Elles curled up peacefully in the middle of all the hubbub.

I would watch her momentarily making sure the circle we formed around her wasn't broken. We had to keep her in.

An alien dashed from above aiming for Elles but an arrow pierced him through his chest as he fell dead next to me. I knew only one person with such perfect projectile accuracy. I looked up, the Quinjet hovered a good distance away from the fight then I spotted Clint crouched down in the jet's exit platform.

"I was starting to think you guys wouldn't make it! "Tony said flying right by me with an alien in his grip.

"What? And let you have all the fun? "Clint said snickering.

Soon, a loud growl followed scaring the aliens. Two aliens flew through the air then were suddenly stuck together like sandwich then web covered them pinning them fast to a tree. Parker was here too. Shots were fired from the air both from Clint's arrows and Rhodey's guns.

"Well, this is a very odd gathering! Glad I could make it! "Rhodey said still raining bullets on the aliens.

"There's no brandy so it's gonna be thirsty from here on out! "Tony said.

"Doesn't your suit have a water pump or something in it? "I asked. Tony chuckled a bit.

"Can we not talk about this now? We have more pressing situations at hand! "Widow said as I lended her my shield.

"The topic sure makes me uncomfortable too! "Clint said.

"At hand? I thought you fought with your fists! "Tony said.

"She could show you how she does it when we're done." I said laughing quietly.

"Or I could do a number on your face and leave you to tell the story to your kids. If you ever have any! "Widow said unintentionally mumbling the last sentence.

"I heard that!! "Tony said. The discussion helped relieve the tension a bit.

The aliens were either smashed, webbed, hanged or had an arrow in between their eyes. I think we all know which was Hulk's job.

Tigrahn still battled Thor. They punched and kicked, Thor did the lightning while the other dude did mostly the yelling but he was a good match. I turned my attention to where Elles was lying down but it was empty.

I searched the entire area looking for her then Vision's voice came through Comms. "She's with me in the Jet, Captain! "He said.

I nodded "Thank you Vision! " and the battle continued.

"Don't these stupid things die? "Parker said swinging from tree to tree wrapping up the aliens in twos with his web. But they'd eventually break free.

"You puppets have no idea what you're up against! "Tigrahn said then he placed his sceptre right on Thor's chest as he dashed towards him. His eyes immediately turned jet black.

"NO!! " I yelled running towards them. I aimed then threw my shield, it swooped straight for Thor but he dodged it. It did knock his hand causing his hammer to fall down.

In another second, a bright light covered Thor, Tigrahn and his family members of aliens and they were all gone.

Everyone stood still staring at each other searching for what to say. Just then, Parker came up to me.

"We won't get arrested for destroying a road in London, would we? "He asked. I rolled my eyes at him then went to pick up my shield. I sucked in a sharp breath thinking of how to tell Ellesmere when she woke up that Thor was gone.

Every eye gazed at me waiting for an order. One of the perks of being a leader. Oh no, I sounded like Tony just then.

"Nat, the big guy needs a lullaby! Barton, contact Fury and tell him we'll see him tomorrow. In the meantime, we have to get back to the Tower " I said and everyone solemnly made their way into the Quinjet as it lowered to the ground.

For those of you who like Scarlet Witch or Wanda Maximoff I should say, she's gonna be a pain in the ass for a while so please don't judge her for it, it is clearly the author's fault. Not me!!

And for those who like Thor, the dude's gonna be baaaaaaaaad for a while so let's not judge him either okay, he might hurt a lot of people including Jane. Tsk tsk tsk but he'll get his own soon.

I am not trying to make Thor look bad here, I'm just giving you a sneak peek at what's to come. No hard feelings, eh?

Anyway, Elles is gonna be all sad and depressed but a round of applause for Peter Parker, people. He's gonna cheer our baby up and they might share a little secret.

Wanna guess what the secret is??  Tick tock, tick tock ...

Okay, i'll leave you to it. Right now, let's go to New York!! 👍
