"Never loved somebody

Always one foot on the ground"

-Jasmine Thompson

I was sitting in my room this morning, trying to catch up on my beauty sleep.

Someone knocked on my door and slid a piece of paper under my door.

I had to hobble across the room, due to lack of sleep.

When I bent over to pick up the note I recognized the scrawling letters.

My heart fell, it wasn't from Noah.

On one side it read: Dearest _________.

On the other it read:

¶ __________,

I am taking your (lovely) sister

to the hospital, and I didn't want

to wake you. So have fun, but not

too much fun. You can catch up on

homework.

Love,

Mom.

I sighed, still getting over the fact it wasn't from Noah.

Then I remembered.

My pants from yesterday were slung over the side of my desk chair.

I reached into the left pocket and pulled out the small package.

Slowly, but surely, I made my way down the hall.

When I reached the bathroom, I turned the lock, and released the death grip I had on the package, and slowly unwrapped it.

...

Addition...

Subtraction is easier...

So much easier...

My hands were shaking as I typed in a search.

The sight pulled up with one that was fairly close to me.

I shut the laptop, and grabbed my keys.

I raced out the door, turned to lock it, turned back.

There he was, right in front of me.

What now?
