Ch.24

The room was in chaos. Deoksim was fighting against Vera. With the information she received through the earpiece, others were not in a good condition either.

Their target was to not get normal people involved in this mission right now.

"Watch out for Kim Sol-ah! If any of you happen to run to her,do not fight! Try to escape from her! I repeat do not fight with her!"

Mark's voice rang through their ears. It would be nearly impossible for juniors like them to fight against Kim Sol-ah. It should be either Mark or Xiao Zhan who should fight against her.

Deoksim dodged Vera's kick and did a back bridge before jumping away from her. Deoksim threw the nearest flower vas to her to distract her. Once Vera dodged the vas,Deoksim kicked her on the stomach and tried to stab her but Vera was quick enough to hold her hand and twisted it almost breaking Deoksim's hand.

Deoksim kicked Vera's knee before twisting her arm back. Both of them pushed each other making them fall onto the floor.

Deoksim was near the curtains. Vera took the advantage and quickly wrapped the curtain around Deoksim's neck,choking her.

Deoksim struggled hard to push her hands but she was too much stronger than her. Her breathing was shallow. Her whole face turned red. Deoksim almost saw Jesus but for a luck,the grip loosened. With a thud sound,Vera fell on the ground revealing Seokjin.

Deoksim took a large sum of air to breath properly and took off her mask when Jin tried to hit her with the flower vas in his hands.

"D–Dad! It's me!"

Jin's eyes went wide seeing his daughter. He immediately helped her.

"Deoksim!what are you doing here?!"

Deoksim coughed a bit. "N –No time to explain! You need to escape!come with me!"

"O –Okay but what am I doing here?"

Deoksim stood up and pulled him along with her towards the door. "I don't know. Uncles were kidnapped too. Run downstairs when I gave you a signal. Don't ask questions dad. I'll bring back others too"

Jin couldn't say anything when she opened the door to leave. But the hall way was filled with so many guards. Deoksim cursed under her breath before preparing for a combat. "Stay behind"

Jin widened his eyes seeing the number of guards. Maybe more than 20? He doubted if she could take down all of them.

Deoksim walked forward taking down one by one and kept fighting. She somehow had found a base ball bat while fighting and she used it most of the time to beat the shit out of them.

Jin was amazed seeing his daughter fighting alone. Nevertheless, he was worried sick. No matter how strong Deoksim is,she is still his daughter.

Jin widened his eyes seeing a man trying to stab her from behind. He immediately pulled him back and punched him on the face. But Jin was no fighter like Deoksim. He didn't even see it when that man stabbed him back on the shoulder. Jin hissed feeling a sharp pain on his shoulder.

"DAD!!", Deoksim screamed before trying to run to her.

She was almost stabbed from behind if it wasn't for the team mate who came to help her. The boy helped her to fight against them while Deoksim rescued her father.

"Deoksim! Run away with him! I'll take care of the rest!"

Deoksim gave a firm nod. "Thank you"

She pulled her dad and wrapped his arm around her shoulders before pulling him towards the staircase. She didn't want to use the elevator since she didn't know what kind of trap would be there.

She opened the door to the staircase and entered. Jin was almost losing his senses since he wasn't used to this kind of pain.

"Dad,hang in there! I'll take you down!"

As she was going down,she saw her uncle Jimin and a team mate going down. She heaved a sigh knowing Jimin is safe.

"Uncle Jimin!"

Both Jimin and the red agent looked upto see Deoksim and Jin. Jimin's eyes went wide seeing Jin's condition.

"Hyung!"

Just as Deoksim was about to go down,the red agent next to Jimin screamed. "Watch out!"

Deoksim snapped her head back to see flying knife. In a lightening speed,she turned around giving her back shoulder. The knife was stabbed onto her shoulder.

"D –Deoksim!",Jin managed to whisper out.

Deoksim pulled out the knife and looked at who threw the knife. Her eyes went wide seeing the person she desperately wanted to see for months. There,she stood in all her glory,Kim Sol-ah. She was looking down at Deoksim with those empty eyes. They were void of any emotion. Half lidded eyes stared back at Deoksim's wide opened eyes.

"Sol-ah!",Jimin tried to run upstairs but the red agent held him back.

"Don't go! She is not your sister anymore!", the boy yelled not letting Jimin escape.

Deoksim gulped hard staring at her. It's impossible to go down with her ad their barrier. Deoksim has to do something.

"Uncle Jimin, go downstairs with my dad", she looked at the other red agent. "Take them down. I'll take care of her"

"But —"

"It's okay. Just take them down"

Deoksim gave Seokjin to the red agent who came up to take him. Then her eyes went to Jimin who was staring at Sol-ah.

"Uncle,....go"

Deoksim looked up. "I'll take care of my aunt"

The red agent took both men downstairs while Deoksim stayed on that floor. She knew that she is no match for Sol-ah. Sol-ah had the ability to kill her with a snap of her finger. Still,Deoksim tried to give a try.

She carefully took a step forward. "Sol-ah,can you......recognise me?",she asked.

Sol-ah gave no reaction to her.

Deoksim never thought that she'll be using her mentor's lessons against her own mentor.

"Fine", she mumbled and got ready to defend any attack from her.

Sol-ah pulled out two knives from her waist and charged forward. She did give a strike which almost had Deoksim's skin peel off. Deoksim defended herself blocking Sol-ah's every attack.

Deoksim gave a round down kick to Sol-ah which made her stumble a bit. Sol-ah paused for a moment before throwing away her knives. It seems like she liked hand to hand combat rather than using knives.

Their fight went for a while going up and down in the staircase.

Deoksim widened her eyes when she was kicked on the chest. Her back came in contact with the railing of the staircase. Not a millisecond passed,she was kicked harshly making her stumble backwards.

She lost her balance and fell backwards with a scream.

Sol-ah looked down only to see Deoksim holding the railing. She stepped on Deoksim's hand which was holding the railing.

"Ahhhh!", Deoksim could only scream.

Sol-ah clearly hadn't recognised her dear niece. Her emotionless eyes stared down.

Deoksim had no choice but to let go. She looked down to see more railings. Gulping down,she took a deep breath before letting go.

She desperately grabbed onto another railing. She looked upto see no one.

Did she leave?!

Or is she coming downstairs?!

Deoksim immediately climbed the railing and stepped onto the staircase again.

But no one came. She scrutinised the surrounding but no one was there. Sol-ah had left.

Deoksim heaved a big sigh. She touched her pocket to feel the box. She wondered why she didn't try to use the vaccine. Deoksim clearly had no intentions of using it even with Sol-ah infront of her. "Why am I hesitating?"

Shaking her head,she tapped on her earpiece. "I met Sol-ah"

"What?!"

Both Mark and Zhan screamed.

"Are you okay?!", It was Xiao Zhan.

Deoksim, "Yes, I'm alright. Seokjin and Jimin are safe. Sol-ah must be coming for you guys. Be careful"

"Got it"

Deoksim went upstairs again. She saw one of Sol-ah's knife on the floor. Taking it,she continued to walk upstairs.
