We arrived home and I took her inside. Marilyn ran up to us and asked about Anna of course. "Michael! Who is this poor child? It looks like she hasnt eaten in days!" she said hysterically. "I know. I found her in an alley on my way home."

"Whats your name sweetie?"

"Anna. This Jessie." she said holding up the bear.

"Awww Michael she is just the sweetest child. Ya hungry? How does spagetti sound?" she asked Anna. Anna nodded and they went into the kitchen. I ran upstairs to call my mother.

~On the Phone~

"Hi mother."

"Hi sweetheart. Whats the matter? You sound frantic."

"I am mother. I just found a little girl in the alley all alone. She looks battered and hungry. Im gonna keep her."

"Just what I taught my son. You do what's right for that child you hear me?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Now run alone. Mother loves you."

"I love you too mother."

I hung up and ran back downstairs. Anna was at the table scarfing down her food. I sat down next to her. "You were hungry." I pointed out.

She didnt look at me. She just stopped eating. "Im sorry I ate food up. I dont need no more." she whispered. "Dont be silly babygirl. You can have as much as you want." I said smiling. And on that note, she had an extra helping.

I told Rena to fix up one of the rooms so Anna could sleep in it. She had no other clothes for now, so I had Marilyn wash the ones she had and I gave her one of my shirts for the moment.

"Anna, this is your room. Im going to take you tomorrow to get some new clothes and toys. You can do whatever you want to it, except for destroy it. No making crazy concoctions in here." I said smiling.

"You mean magic?" she asked

"You can make magic, just not bad magic." I said back

"Can wall be pink?" she asked

"They sure can! Ill get that done tomorrow."

"Can everything be pink?" she asked again

"Of course. We'll do all of that tomorrow. Whatever you want Ill get it." I said picking her up and tucking her in bed. "Jessie too." she said

"Of course." I said grabbing the bear and tucking it in too. "Can I get my hair curly like yours?" she asked. I laughed. "Sure. Ill even get you some cool aviators like me."

"What are those?"

"They're sunglasses. We can match if you want." I said smiling

"I want too!" she said excitedly. I giggled. "Now lets get some sleep. We have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow." I said

She smilied and closed her eyes. She was the most beautiful thing in the world. "Goodnight Anna. I promise to take good care of you." I whispered, kissing her forehead. I turned off the light and she jumped up.

"Night light! Afraid of dark!" she said loudly. I quickly turned around and put the night light on. I calmed her down and she fell back asleep.

I had to get ready for a busy day tomorrow.
