I got up and went to check on Anna. I didnt want to wake her up so quickly because I knew she was tired. She was sound asleep, so I went to the kitchen to see what was for breakfast.

"Mornin Mike." Marilyn said setting a plate of banana pancakes in front of me.

"Mornin Mary. Can I have some hot sauce for my eggs?" I asked

"Sure hon. How is Anna?"

"She's fine. Im gonna let her sleep for a little bit then we'll head out and get some stuff."

"Keep her joined at the hip."

"I wont let her out of my sight Mary. She'll be with me at all times, and with the exception of important bussiness, she'll be with you." I said eating.

"You know I wouldnt mind."

"She's a joy and Ive only known her for a day." I said smiling. Just then I heard the sweetest yawn. I turned around and Anna was standing there with Jessie. "Morning babygirl." I said smiling.

"Morning Michael." she said rubbing those cute green eyes. She came over and sat on one of the barstools. "Hows chocolate pancakes sound?" Mary asked her. She nodded and smiled. "Yes please!"

Mary and I both laughed. "How did you sleep sweetheart?" I asked. "Fine. I was tired." she said. "I know." I replied. "When would you like to go shopping?"

"Can we go after we eat?" she asked

"Sure. When you're finshed, get ready and we can go."

"OK." she said all cute. I smiled and got up to get dressed. I was going to have to spend at least 2,000 dollars today, but I didnt care or mind. I could make that money back easily. I was ready so I went to go check up on Anna.

She walked out in the same thing I found her in. "Lets go sweetie." I said holding her hand. We hopped in the car and she asked if we could litsen to music.

"What would you like to litsen to?" I asked

"I dont know much songs." she said shrugging

"Would you like to litsen to my music?"

"OK."

I turned on 'Beat It' and she started dancing. "You like this song?" I asked giggling

"I like it!" she said happily. "Im glad you like it."

"Jessie likes it too!" she said pointing to the bear. I smiled and kept driving. We arrived at the store and I caought her humming the tune.

"KInd of sticks to ya huh?" I asked

"Yea." she said back. We went to a little girls store and we bought a whole bunch of stuff. She wouldnt have to worry about clothes and shoes anymore. She probably would have to worry about which outfit she was going to wear each day.

We bought some room furniture too. I got her this vanity fit for a princess, a huge dresser, a disc chair, a bedding set, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

"Michael I wanna help paint!" she said

"OK. We can start when we get back to the house. But first.....to the toy store!" I said excitedly

"YAY!" she said running to the car. We headed to the store and she picked out some barbie dolls and other girly cute stuff. She even got some new friends for Jessie. "Michael I want you to play tea party with me!" she said tugging on my shirt and pointing to the tea set.

"Do you want it?" I asked

"Yes please." she said sweetly. I smiled and got that for her too. We headed home after a day of shopping and Marilyn was there making dinner.

"Well you two had quite a day." she pointed out

"Mary we got clothes and toys and daddy even...." she cut herself off. Our eyes went wide and Anna ran upstairs.

"Anna honey wait!" I called after her. I looked at Mary. "Go Michael."

"Come with me?" I asked in need of some help

"She called YOU daddy. Now go mister. The fried chicken is burning, and Mary dont burn chicken." she said walking off. I shook my head and smiled. I headed upstairs to go talk to Anna. She was in her room crying her eyes out on the pillow.

"Anna.....sweetheart. You wanna talk about it?"

"Go away." she said quietly.

I walked over to her and sat down on the bed. "Honey I know how bad you must feel about your real parents. They treated you badly, and Im only here to help."

"Why?" she asked

"Because Anna....I love you. I love you like my own." I said making it clear.

"Im sorry I called you....you know.." she said

"Its alright. Its fine."

"You really do feel like my daddy. You're nice to me, and you let me eat and sleep and you got me toys. Thats what a daddy is supposed to do right?" she said looking at me with those cute watery eyes.

I nodded. "That and so much more Anna." I said rubbing her head.

"Can you be my daddy?" she asked

"If thats what you truly want....."

She nodded and hugged me. This little girl had no one, and I was the one who stepped up and took care of her. She felt like a child of mines.

"Do you wanna come down for dinner?" I asked her. She nodded and she held onto me, never letting go while I carried her downstairs.

I was a father now.
