In the aftermath of their lovemaking still radiated between them as they held each other close, Fabiola's head resting gently on Sefa's chest as she listened to the strong, steady beat of his heart.
It was a beautiful moment of tenderness between the two lovers, where all that existed was their shared love and the comforting feeling of being wrapped up in each other's arms.
Fabiola decided it was the best time to get Sefa's input on the wedding that she had been planning. "I got the location, time, and everything. Is there anything you want at the wedding?" Fabiola asked Sefa.
Fabiola had handled most of the planning herself, but wanted to check with Sefa to see if there was anything in particular he wanted incorporated into their special day. Though caught up in marital bliss, Fabiola remained thoughtful and considerate, making sure to include Sefa every step of the way.
Sefa shook his head no. "Nope, sounds like you handled everything. I'm happy that I just gotta show up and say my vows," Sefa answered.
Utterly content with leaving the planning to his wife-to-be, Sefa was unfazed by the details. As long as he could stand by Fabiola's side and pledge his love and commitment to her, that was all that mattered to him. He trusted her vision completely and was willing to go along with whatever she had arranged for their wedding. For him, the only essential thing was that they would be joined together as husband and wife.
"On our wedding day, I don't want to hear any complaints since I asked for your input throughout the planning process," Fabiola told Sefa.
Sefa smiled. "Our wedding day will be perfect so you won't hear any complaints from me," Sefa said.
Fabiola removed herself from Sefa's arms and got out of bed, her mind already racing ahead to the multitude of last-minute wedding preparations left unfinished.
"I hope you and your brothers picked out your suits for the wedding because I don't have time to go suit shopping for y'all," Fabiola said as she found her robe and put it on, her voice tinged with exasperation as she vented her frustration over the delay of her wedding dress.
"I know it is short notice but she promised to have my dress finished by now and now I have to fly out to New York to buy a backup wedding dress just in case she doesn't finish on time," Fabiola said with a heavy sigh, her nerves beginning to fray as the wedding date crept closer amidst the chaos of disorganized plans.
Sefa sat up in bed, watching with concern as Fabiola paced around their bedroom, her motions sharp and hurried as she mentally cataloged the tasks left undone.
"You could wear a plain t-shirt and shorts and you'll still be the most beautiful bride on our wedding day, so relax, don't stress out about things beyond your control, Fabi," Sefa said gently, trying to ease her worries.
But his words provided little comfort. Fabiola rolled her eyes in exasperation, her frayed nerves making her short-tempered. "That's not very helpful, Sefa," She said tersely, too consumed with anxiety to appreciate his attempts to calm her down.
There was still so much to do and so little time left, and the unfinished wedding dress hanging over her head made it impossible for Fabiola to relax.
Sensing his fiancée's rising panic, Sefa gently took Fabiola's hands into his own and attempted to soothe her worries. "Okay, I'm sorry. Take a deep breath. Everything will be fine, okay," he said softly, as he got out of bed and enveloped her in a warm, reassuring embrace.
Fabiola sighed heavily, the nervous tension in her body easing ever so slightly at his touch. "Your dress will be done on time," Sefa continued, gently stroking her hair.
"I'm just trying to make sure our day is perfect because this is a once-in-a-lifetime event," Fabiola explained, her voice wavering. Sefa smiled understandingly.
"And it's going to be perfect for us because you're a perfectionist," Sefa replied gently. "But even if some small details aren't exactly how we envisioned, it will still be wonderful because we'll be together." His calm patience and unwavering love finally broke through Fabiola's anxiety, and she leaned into him, letting the warmth of his embrace soothe her nerves.
They stood there quietly for some time, finding peace in each other's arms

After her emotional conversation with Sefa and a small breakdown over her wedding dress the previous evening, Fabiola awoke the next morning feeling a mix of nerves and excitement.
Though she had some doubts after her talk with her best friend, today was the day she would be going for her first fitting for her wedding dress - one of the most memorable and meaningful moments for any bride-to-be.
She met up with her sisters and Aubrey at the bridal shop, both of whom could hardly contain their enthusiasm. As Fabiola stepped into the elegant boutique and caught a glimpse of the stunning gown waiting for her, perfectly tailored just for her frame, she gasped audibly.
Her sisters teared up immediately upon seeing their darling Fabiola standing on the pedestal in front of the mirrors, the exquisite lace and silky fabrics hugging her figure as if they were made for her.
Any shred of doubt melted away as Fabiola turned this way and that, watching the dress move as she did. This was it - her dream dress.
Her sisters gushed over how breathtaking she looked. As Fabiola stared at her reflection, eyes shining brightly, she knew at that moment that she had made the right decision in creating this dress.
All her stress and anxiety were replaced with pure joy and excitement for the wedding day that lay ahead.
"See and you were worried that the dress wouldn't be done," Kettie said.
"Because Miss Designer over here said she didn't finish it," Fabiola said, laughing as she looked at Karen, the designer of her wedding dress.
"I finished it this morning," Karen said.
"Sefa is going to cry when he sees you in this dress," Aubrey said.
Fabiola looked at herself in the mirror. "He better because I know I'm going to cry when I see him," Fabiola said.
Everyone laughed at Fabiola's comment.
After checking on her wedding dress at the bridal shop downtown, Fabiola and the others decided to grab lunch at their favorite cafe to continue discussing wedding plans over paninis and iced tea.
As they excitedly chatted about floral arrangements, the guest list, and honeymoon destinations, Fabiola's younger sister Kettie turned to Aubrey and asked if seeing Fabiola in full wedding planning mode was making her also feel ready to walk down the aisle.
Aubrey explained that she envisioned herself getting married someday, hopefully to her boyfriend Joshua, but she wasn't going to pressure him into proposing before he was ready.
Aubrey felt strongly that the timing of a proposal should be up to the man and she didn't want to force Joshua into doing something he wasn't enthusiastic about yet.
Little did Aubrey know, Joshua had already bought a ring and made reservations at Aubrey's favorite restaurant that very night, planning to finally ask her the big question over dessert.
While Aubrey chatted with the girls, she had no idea that the man she loved was eagerly counting down the minutes until he could surprise her with a romantic proposal and officially start their future together as an engaged couple.
