ANKHON KE SILSILE

It was a winter morning. Leaves sparkling with the dew, atmosphere a bit foggy, buds blooming into beautiful flowers...wow! Nature at its serenity...So peaceful!

The beam of sunlight seeped into the room through the window adding to the warmth in the cold shivering morning. Uhh! Well this disturbed the sleep of a beautiful girl who was busy in her dreamworld with her Mr.Perfect,her imaginary prince charming whom she had never seen in her life till date.

The girl pressed her eyes firmly before pulling the warm blanket away from her. A cold gust of wind hot her making her shiver and she immediately slipped into her sweater which was hanging on the chair nearby. A beautiful smile tugged at the edges of her lips as she stepped into a new day.

Girl- Good morning Avneet Kaur...

The pretty girl,our lovely Avu chirped at herself and squealed when she remembered what was today.

Avu- Woah! Woah! Woah! Finally this day is here...ahh! I hv been waiting so eagerly for this from the last few weeks....its the Annual Function today...Wohhooo...!

She got off the bed and started jumping in excitement. Who doesn't like their school Annual Functions especially when they are gonna participate.

Sm1- Muskan...

Avu stopped dancing when she heard a lady calling her by her pet name and she knew who was it. Of course it was her mom,her best friend. She turned towards her mom.

Avu- Good morning mummy.

AM(her mom)- Good morning dear. Ab nachna band kar aur jaake brush kar...

A pout played over her lips and she went near the washroom tying her hair into a bun. She took her brush adding paste over it and started brushing. She completed,washed her face and smiled at herself.

Avu again moved towards her room and switched on her phone to check for any messages. She had a very few messages from her friends. She replies and went downstairs to have breakfast.

Avu- Yum yum yum! Pancakes...

She rubbed her hands against each other taking her seat completely ready to attack over her favorite pancakes prepared by her mom. She took a bite from it and moaned at the deliciousness dripping from it.

Avu- Subah subah ese khane ko mile toh aur life me chahiye hi kya?! I love mummy for this.

Just then someone came from back ruffling her hair.

Sm1- Good morning Muski.

Avu- Bhai, kitni baar mana karun,stop destroying my hairstyle.

Sm1- Me toh karunga...

And started the Tom-Jerry fight between the two siblings, Avu and her elder brother Jai. They didn't use to fight much but when the quarrel would start,ahh! Its a headache for their lovely mom.

AM- Shut up! And continue eating.

And both pursed their lips and continued having their breakfast. After it was done,Jai went back to his room whereas Avu started roaming all around the house while dancing.

Sm1- Good morning everyone.

Her feet immediately stopped listening to a cold voice of a man which she recognized in one go. She went and stood beside her mom like an obedient child realizing her father is there.

AD(her dad)- Good morning everyone.

AM- Good morning!

Avu- Good morning Dad!

She said in a normal tone. She has always been a little afraid of her dad coz he was kinda of a strict man. But no matter, a daughter can never be loved anymore by someone else than her father. She will always be the princess not bcoz she has her prince but bcoz she has the king. Avu and her father's bond was not so strong and friendly yet they both loved each other the most. The reason was her father would me mostly out of city for his work which increased the distance between the two and the next reason was he was always persuading Avu to study.. no!! Who likes that...ugh! So she was always a bit scared of her strict father apart from having the immense love for him.

AD- Excited for Annual Function.
This question again spread an excitement over her face.

Avu- Of course Dad...too excited...yipeee...

Her dad smiled seeing his daughter happy.

Avu was getting ready to leave for her school. She hanged a small bagpack on her shoulders and started going towards the maindoor.

Avu- Mummy, yaad se! Me first line me hi right corner se second me hun...mera right...apka nahin...so aap apne left me dekhna...okay?!

AM- Okay baba...relax!

Avu- Bye!

AM- Bye!

She waved at her mom and sat in the car and her dad drove off to the school. Reaching there,she happily went inside not before bidding bye to her father.

Avu went to the assigned room and saw her friends. They waved at her after seeing her. She went and sat near them.

Frnds- Hey Avneet!

Avu- Hi guys!!

And started the gossips between the friends.

Krupa- Guys! Let's play Dumsharaj..

Other agreed and started playing. There were only four of them- Avu, Krupa, Jannat and Sumedh. So they made two teams- Krupa and Avu in one while Jan and Sum in another.

The two teams were engaged in playing trying hard to win and making the other one loose when someone joined them. The person came and sat near Avu and the sudden action startled her.

Sm1- Hey Guys! Can I join you?

Jan- It's fine Siddharth...u can join but in whose team...we both have equal members. Tu kahan join karega?

Sid- Umm...me donon side se hun...like I will help u guys...cool with it?

Jan- Okay

Meanwhile Avu's eyes were fixed on this newly introduced Siddharth.

Avu's POV- Who is he? Aur yeh suddenly mujhe kya ho rha he? I feel completely different...yeh mere paas jab aake betha...what is this feeling? Aur ek second, hum toh khel rhe the ? Yeh beech me aake kyun ghus gya! Huh! Gadha kahin ka...

Sid moved his gaze towards Avu while she immediately diverted her gaze. They continued playing.

After a while,

Sum- Its getting boring...what about Truth Dare and even Fire.

Rest others agreed with it.

(THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT IS FIRE, U WILL GIVEN NAME OF THREE PEOPLE AND U HAVE TO RANK THEM LIKE 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD)

Jan spin a bottle and it landed on Sid.

Sid- Ummm...fire!

Jan- Okay wait...

She thought for a moment.

Jan- Yes yes yes...me bata rhi hun...Roshni,Tunisha and Avneet.

Sid- Okayyy...1st me Tunisha,2nd Roshni and last me yeh gadhi.

Avu rolled her eyes at his reply. They again continued playing. After a while,a guy named Lucky came and joined them. He came and sat between Sidneet. Both felt like killing him.

Sum- Hi Lucky!

Luc- Hi...by the way kya khel rhe ho?

Sum- Truth Dare Fire..

Luc- Cool..I will join u guys!

Avu made a frustrated face at his reply. The bottle was spinned and it landed on Avu.

Avu- I choose Fire.

Kru- Lemme tell...umm...ya Lucky,Priyanshu and Karan.

Avu- Acha....so last me Karan,1st me toh tujhe kabhi rakhungi nahin(she said pointing towards Luc) and baaki jo bacha 1st me(pointed towards Sid).

Sid felt an unknown pleasure at her answer while Luc was fuming in anger.

Sid's POV- Mujhe bahut khushi hui jab yeh gadhi ne mujhe 1st me rakha...now I don't know why but hui toh...aur usse bhi zyada khushi hui jab usne uss Lucky ko 2nd me rakha...huh! Aake humare beech me beth gya...I don't know why but I was feeling really good when she was sitting beside me.

After few minutes, the teacher called them to go for the function. All were excited to perform and so did they. They were very happy. After the performance ended, all the participants were either hugging or doing hi-fies with each other. And and and finally Sidneet came in front of each other.

Avu- Hi-fi Gadhe...

She smiled forwarding her hand. Sid hi-fied with her.

Sid- Hi-fi Gadhi..

The two youngsters felt sparkles flowing through their body during the small contact of their hands. But both ignored that and went to their other friends.Finally it was the time to leave and thus,the day had come to an end marking the beginning of a beautiful love story.

Whenever Avu used to see Sid at school,she used to wave at him and he simply used to ignore. After a while,Avu stopped reacting after seeing him. Both didn't have any conversation between each other being the students of different sections but never forgot to steal glances of each other whnever they spotted the other.

Days passed and so did months. 1 and a half year passed. Both Sidneet had realized that they had a huge crush on each other and may be its love but no one had taken any step for confession.

It was the last day of summer vacation. Avu was studying in her house when she got a call. She checked and it was from an unknown number. She picked it up.

Avu- Hello?

Sm1- Hi Avneet. Me Vaishnavi bol rhi hun.

Avu- Oh..hi Vaishnavi.

Vaish- Actually mujhe na English ke woh notes chahiye the first chapter ke. Can u send?

Avu- Ya ya sure! I am sending now...

Vaish- Thank you...aur kal school aa rhi ho..

Avu- Hn aana toh padega though mann nahin he..

Both laughed on this.

Vaish- Okay meet u tomorrow..

Avu- Vaishnavi...suno! Can u keep a seat for me in the class?

Vaish- Ya sure! I will..don't worry!

Avu- Okay thanks...bye! Aur hn me abhi woh notes send kar rhi hun.

Vaish- Bye!!

And the call ended.

Avu sent the notes to Vaish,her classmate. They used to be very good friends at a time but due to the seating arrangement they lost contact.

Next morning,

Avu went to school after a whole 1.5 months of vacation. She went and saw Vaish sitting on the first bench.

Vaish- Hi Avneet. U can sit here.
She said pointing to the bench behind her. Avu saw that a girl named Ashnoor was sitting there.

Avu's POV- Arey yaar...mujhe iss ladki ke paas toh bilkul nahin bethna he..

Avu- Umm...me tumhare paas beth sakti hun kya?

Vaish thought for a while coz she had kept the place for her best friend Yesha who had not arrived till yet. But she decided to allow Vaish and ask her best friend to sit near Ashnoor who were even good friends.

Vaish- Ya sure!

Avu smiled and sat near her. The whole day was enjoyed by Vaishneet discussing how was the vacation spent.

5 months later,

It has been five months since the summer vacation ended and now the whole class was happy as the mid term examinations were over. Vaishneet were sitting on their seat and laughing over an incident.

Vaish- God! Tu mujhse starting me kitni nafrat karti thi..

Avu- Of course..because tu uss mam ki favorite teacher thi jo mujhse baat baat pe chidti thi...like seriously...I think unka mujhse koi personal dushmani thi..u used to be the obedient one and me the most indiscipline.

Vaishneet again laughed remembering those old days. Over these months,they had become the best friends. Their bond had been really strong.

Avu- Wese mujhe kuch yaad aaya...teri life me koi tha tera "Friendly Enemy"...I remember.

Avu stopped laughing after listening and started blushing.

Avu- Aah! That means aj bhi wohi he.

Vaish nodded.

Avu- Kya tha uska naam?

Vaish- Abhishek Nigam.

Avu- Right! Tum dono kitna ladte the...like recess hua nahin ki woh class ke saamne aa jata tha and tum dono khelne lagte the.

Tears filled in Vaish' eyes remembering those days.

Avu- Hey hey hey! Kya hua? Ro kyun rhi he?

Vaish- Kuch nahin.

Avu- Ab tu mujhse chupayegi...yehi dosti reh gyi.

Vaish- Actually mujhe woh sab fin yaad aa gye jab Abhishek mera best friend aur ab..

Avu- Ab?

Vaish- Ab toh hum baat bhi nahin karte...use pata chal gya tha ki I hv a crush on him and he started ignoring me...ab toh hum strangers ki tarah hain.

Avu felt bad for her bestie.

Avu- Don't worry...tu bahut jald hi uski hogi...

Vaish smiled.

Vaish- Yeh koi normal crush nahin he....I really love him...by the way tera koi crush?

And now it was the time of Avu to have blushing cheeks.

Avu- Yes..

Vaish- Woah! Kaun he?

Avu- Siddharth Nigam.

Vaish- Yes! I know him..like personally nahin jaanti par dekha zaroor he..kitne din se yeh crush he?

Avu- 2 years pehle ke annual function me.

Avu- Arey hn...isme bhi similarity.

Yes,Vaishneet had a lot of things in similar. Some people even claimed them to be sisters. Well their bond was no less than of sisters. Some siblings would even fail to compete the bond they used to have.

Soon it was recess. Vaishneet went to the playground.

Avu- Vaish, dekh tera wala..

Vaish- And if I am not wrong, woh dekh tera wala.

Both chuckled and smiled as their eyes fell on their love Sidshek who were busy playing with their friends. They started looking at them dreamily while gossiping.

Soon,the bell rang indicating the end of recess. Students started moving towards the class with a irritated face. The field was almost clear. Vaishneet were going in one direction while Sidshek in another. The girls were looking back towards the boys whose back was facing them and that's when suddenly both the boys turned and looked at the girls. Vaishneet immediately turned their face to their front.

Vaishneet- Usne mujhe dekha...

Both squealed in excitement and went to their classes. Huh! Who won't be happy if their crush turns and sees them.

Currently Avu was beating Vaish and crying over her fate.

Avu- I hate you..

Vaish- Arey meri kya galti thi.

Avu- Teri hi thi...aaa....kaash me bhi wahan hoti.

Vaish- Kese hoti? Aur mujhe kya pata tha ki woh Siddharth ko bhi bulayega.

Avu- Tu kya samjhegi mera dard. Tu toh Abhishek ke bday ko khushi khushi chali gayi.

Hehe...so currently Avu was sad that she wasn't there at Abhi's birthday party yesterday. Well that's not the exact reason,she was sad because even Sid was present there. Vaish was invited by Abhi and she was more than happy but when she saw Sid over there she was shocked and wished Avu was over there. Same was the condition of Sid who was hoping the presence of Avu.

Avu looked towards Vaish and found her blushing.

Avu- Ab blush kyun kar rhi he?

Vaish- Tujhe pata he...kal Abhishek ne mujhe apne haaton se cake khilaya and sab ne uss time pe chillaya like they hooted..

Avu- Kya? Sach me? Teri toh lottery lag gyi...aur yahan ek me hun...huh! Mujhe yeh tak nahin pata ki woh Siddharth mere liye feel kya karta he!

Vaish- Of course he loves u back. Tune dekha nahin...how he looks at you! Jab bhi tu paas karegi,woh zaroor tujhe dekhega.

Avu shrugged her shoulders.

With Sidshek,

Sid had been beating and kicking Abhi since morning.

Sid- Abey! Tu agar Avneet ko bula deta toh kya ho jata...uski best friend...apni Vaishnavi ko toh bula diya tha.

Abhi- First of all, me kese bulata Avneet ko...mere ghar me toh use jaante bhi nahin and next mene Vaishnavi ko isliye bulaya tha kyunki woh aur me same tuition me padhte hain. Aur third,woh meri nahin he...huh! Kabhi use dekha he...behenji kahinki...woh mere peeche pagal he...me nahin..me uske baare me toh apne sapnon me bhi soch nahin sakta...chii!

Sid- Whatever! Huh! I missed a chance.

Abhi- Bula leta toh tu kya hi kar deta...baat toh hoti nahin tujhse.

Sid remained silent.

Vaish was crying and Avu was consoling her.

Avu- Its okay Vaish.

Vaish- Its not okay...it's not at all okay. Woh mere hi ese samne betha tha aur usne apne doston ko kaha ki woh Tunisha ke saath relationship me he..its not fair...Not all all. Meri hi kismat me yeh sab hona tha?

Vaish had got to know that Abhi is in a relationship with Tunisha. She was really heartbroken. On the other hand, Avu was thinking that what if Sid will even have a girlfriend someday. She was just hoping that day would never come in her life. But even she was feeling very bad for her best friend as she was the only one to know how much Vaish loved Abhi.

The session had ended. All were promoted to the next class. Everyone's life was going well. Vaish was very happy as Abhi was in the same section as her and mostly they were being shipped and rumored. On the other hand Abhi had broken up with Yesha. While with our heroine Avu,she was in deep love with Sid but still unconfessed.

Currently, Vaishneet were sitting in an empty classroom doing some work assigned by the teacher. They were talking and completing the work when two of their friends barged in the room.

Friends- Hey guys!

Vaishneet- Hi.

Jan- Hn Anushka...tu sun..

Anu- Arey vishwaas nahin ho rha he uss Ashi ka koi boyfriend ho sakta he..

Avu- Ashi ka boyfriend? Kaun?

Jan- Arey woh Siddharth he na...wahi...

Vaishneet looked towards each other with wide eyes.

Vaish- Siddharth Nigam?

Anu- Hn wahi..

Vaishneet- Oh..

And after talking for sometime,Janushka left. The moment they exited the room,Vaishneet shouted.

Vaishneet- WHAT THE FUCK!

Avu- Woh relationship me he? I think we should quit the idea of telling him my feelings.

Vaish- Yaar Avi...

She went and hugged her.

Vaish- Feelings ese dil me rakhna thik nahin hoga...bol dena chahiye..

Avu- Hmm..

Though Avu didn't show but still she was sad,of course...she just heard that the love of her life is in a relationship with sm1 else.

The day ended. Students started exiting the school with happy faces after the exhausting day. Avu was afraid as it was the time for Sid to know about her feelings. But Vaishneet had decided that it would be Vaish who would go and tell about Avu's feelings coz she didn't have the courage.

Avu- All the best!

Vaish- Mujhe kya bol rhi he ? Khud ko bol...me Abhi ko propose karne nahin jaa rhi hun...pagal ladki!

Vaish moved towards Sid.

Vaish- Hi Siddharth.

Sid- Hello.

Vaish- Actually mujhe kuch bolna he.

Sid- Hn bolo na..

Vaish- Woh Avneet he na...she really loves you..from the first time she saw you...bahut pyaar karti he tumse...soooo....

She lingered the "so" a bit gesturing him for the answer.

Sid- Hn...umm...toh use keh dena ki meri taraf se ese koi bhi feelings nahin he..kuch mahine pehle tak thi...but I have moved on..

Vaish- Okayy..

She literally ran towards Avu and told him his answer.

Avu- Oh..acha mera auto aa gya he...I am going. Bye!

She went. Vaish tried to talk to her but stopped thinking she needed some space. She even went back home.

Avu reached her house. She kept a fake smile on her face. Soon it was night. She had her dinner and went to sleep but it was far from her eyes. Tears slipped from her eyes making the pillow wet. That night she spent crying over her broken heart. Next morning,she got up with a severe headache but she ignored it and faced everyone with a fake smile.

1 month later,

Avu was scrolling through her insta when she got a message from Sonali Nigam. Avu was shocked as she was the elder sister of Sid.

She checked the message and it was a simple Hi. She replied back and they started talking. One day Sonali asked Avu her phone number and she gave it. The same day she got a message from an unknown number(UN).

UN- Hello!

Avu- Hi...but who r u?

UN- Siddharth

Avu was more than shocked seeing the message. 'Now why did he message me' was the only thing she could think.

Sid- Hey? U there?

Avu- Ya...say!

Sid- So,how r u doing?

Avu- Good! What about u?

Sid- Am fine...so...

They continued chatting. Avu was more than happy and same was with Sid. Both were on cloud nine while chatting for nights and nights.

One night,while chatting -

Sid- Well I wanna tell u something.

Avu- Ya say na...

Sid- Look..plz don't be angry or stop talking to me.

Avu- Chill yaar...say whatever u want to..

Sid- Actually....

Avu- Yesss?

Sid- I love you.

The moment Avu read the message,she was damn shocked. She couldn't believe it. Her love of life is proposing her.

Sid- Hey? U there? Please reply...Don't ignore me...plz yaar...I really love you.

Avu- Yesss...I am there and...

Sid- And?

Avu- I love you tooooo....

Sid- What?! Seriously??

Sid asked to confirm.

Avu- Of course...

Sid started jumping after seeing the text and so was Avu.

Sid- Well now it's late night. I think u should sleep. Bye! Good night..

Avu- Bye and Good night!

Sid- And yes sweet dreams about me😉.

Avu- 😳

The message was left on seen. Both drifted off to sleep with each other's thought,screaming out of happiness in their mind that yes!! Finally they are together.

Next morning,

Vaish was sitting on her seat when Avu came running to her and hugged her tightly.

Avu- Vaish! Tujhe pata he kal kya hua?

She asked squealing in excitement.

Vaish- Siddharth ne tujhe propose kiya kya?

Avu nodded with a big grin.

Vaish- WHAT!

Avu- Yess.

Vaish- Congratulations yaar! I am so happy for you...par yeh sab hua kab?

Avu- Kal hi...raat ko usne mujhe propose kiya...I mean whatsapp pe hi bola...

Vaish- Woah!! Congo....

Both hugged each other in happiness. Avu was happy for herself and Vaish for her best friend but no one noticed the slight tears in Vaish's eyes. Although she was very happy for Avu but she was sad as she is still having that one sided love for Abhi and he doesn't even care to look at her. But she immediately wiped her tears.

The recess bell rang and Vaishneet ran to the field to meet Sidshek. Well not exactly a meet. Both the girls went near Sid.

Vaish- Congratulations jiju!

Sid smiled. Sidneet went towards the back of the school building and Vaish kept ensuring that no one was there near to spot them. Of course! What are best friends for!

With Sidneet,

Sid bent down on his knees. Avu's face broke into a huge grin.

Sid- I fell for you in the first sight but me being immatured couldn't realize this. I am sorry yaar but ab mujhe pata chal gya ki me sirf tumse pyaar karta hun. I love you Avneet Kaur. Will you be my girlfriend?

Avu- Yessss....I love you too.

Sid got up and hugged her tightly. She even hugged him back with the same energy.

Sid- Well, abhi humare paas zyada time nahin he...so meet u tomorrow here. Bye!

He kissed her cheek and started leaving but stopped and turned back.

Sid- Ukw,I have a dare for you.

Avu- Dare? What!

Sid- Will u be able to do it?

Avu- Of course...tum batao toh.

Sid- I dare u to kiss me on my lips. U have time till tomorrow. Bye!

And he went leaving a shocked Avu. She went near Vaish and said her everything.

Vaish- Woah! Woah! Woah! That's something daring...so tu karegi?

Avu- I don't know...

Vaish- Ya..

Skips to next day,

The same time of recess. Sidneet were standing in front of each other.

Sid(smirk)- So, kya decide kiya..

Avu- Umm...

She took a step forward towards him keeping her hands on his shoulders. She closed her eyes but was very nervous for any further move. Sid pulled her closer by her waist and attached his lips to her. Avu was shocked by his move but composed herself. Both stayed in the same position for sometime feeling each other's lips for the first time. Sid started smooching the lips getting the same action back by Avu. Both were kissing each other with full love. Sid took one step forward making the soft kiss into a deep lip lock. Avu moaned and Sid slid his tongue into her mouth. Exploring each other's mouth,both left each other after a while when they were out of breath. Sid was smiling and Avu was blushing not even able to meet her gaze with his.

Sid- I love you.

Avu- I love you too.

She hugged him and he wrapped his arms around her. After staying in the hug for a short while,they bid byes to each other and went back joining their friends but their attention was still at that first kiss.

It had been only 3 months of Sidneet being in relationship that the school had to be closed due to lockdown for the prevailing pandemic Covid 19. Both were really sad as they were not able to meet each other anymore. They spent their time texting or having video calls. Life was going smoothly for both and like this they got promoted to one class further.

Now Sidneet were the most happiest as schools have been reopened and they are shifted to same section.

The day the school reopened-

Vaish excitedly went inside her classroom to see it empty. She sighed bcoz she was always to first to come. She kept her bag when someone closed her eyes from back.

Vaish- Avi..

Avi- Vaishii....

They hugged each other.

Vaish- Aur aj toh aap bahut excited honge...aakhir tu aur Sid finally same section me.

Avu- Yes...by the way tujhe pata he aane ke waqt me Abhishek ko dek-

Vaish- Plz Avu...tujhe kitni baat bolun...uss insaan ka naam bhi mat lena mere saamne...me usse sirf aur sirf nafrat karti hun.I hate him.

Avu- Par Vaishi-

Vaish- Par kuch nahin...itne saalon se na use kabhi meri feelings ki kadar tak hui jabki me uske peeche pagalon ki tarah bhag rhi thi...and what is he doing? Flirting with girls... he even has a girlfriend..and the most important thing is that he has never cared for me...I was only a bitch to go head over heels for him. And now I HATE HIM.

Said Vaish with rage in her eyes. She had decided that not to wait for Abhi anymore after the 7 years of wait. Now, she believes that he only deserves her hate and nothing else.

Vaishneet were talking when Sid came and sat at their back.

Sid- Hi

And Vaish went from there not disturbing the two love birds.

The classes continued till a peon came and said that it was an arrangement class. Students started hooting getting a free period.

Sid- Kuch khelen kya?

Riu- Ya! T & D

Vaish- Of course...yehi toh ek existing game he.

Avu- I agree...anyways..let's start.

Sid- I choose Truth.

Riu- Tu jab pehli baar Avneet ko dekha toh tujhe kya feel hua tha..

Sid- Umm...pehli baar me use Annual Function ke time dekha tha and tbh,I felt like I got my whole world.

Riu- Tum dono itne dinon se bas wait kar rhe the kya kaun kise propose karega..
