Manik's pov

Finally the moment came that I had been waiting for...Until now it went perfect...

I knelt down before Nandini and took her hand in my hand and kissed her feathery soft hand... I gifted her a red rose too..

Next I took out the ring that I had bought for her...

And then...

Still in the kneeling position,I held her hand once again and bowed down my head

"Come on Manik you can do it.. " motivated Mr Paglu Dil...

And Mr Brain said "Soch le Manik.. agar woh tujhse pyar nahi karti hai toh kya karega tu..."

"Yaar tujhe har baar negative hi kyun bolna rehta hai...shut your mouth you mindless Brain..."

"Tu hai mindless main nahi...you bloody heart...you just pump blood okay..no need to think about me...Just leave everything on me..."

"Yeah if I leave everything on you na..tab Manik zindagi bhar single reh jayega...Kyun Manik...?"

I nodded...

"Chalo Manik I am with you...Take a deep breath and just say it at one go..."

"Manik Soch le.." Mr Brain again poked its nose..

"No Manik..iski mat sun.."

And they once again started their constant tu-tu main-main....

"Bas ho gya tum logo ka...finger on lips...and leave right now..." I shouted at them

And as they know my anger they left silently...

Finally after a long tussle I readied myself to speak those magical words...

"Nandini...I..."

I found no response and then I heard her speaking

" Dhruv!!!!  What...?? Ok ok don't worry...I am coming ..."

While listening to Mr Paglu Dil and Mr Brain I didn't even realize when Nandini took her hand away from me and now she was standing at a small distance talking to someone on phone....But I could hear her...The question arises who was she talking to...? Was it Dhruv..?

Damn Dhruv....!!! 😡

Why the hell he had to call Nandini at this very moment... I just hate him and now I hate him more...

My train of thoughts were broken by Nandini's words...

"Manik I have to leave now..."

"What...? 😲 " I stated in shock

"Yeah Dhruv needs me...I need to go right now..."

"But what about the date...?"

"We can continue this show some other day...."

"Show....?? Are you out of your mind? Tumhe yeh sab kuch ek show lag raha hai...?" 🙄

"Sorry Manik...woh I didn't mean to say that... It's just that I am a lil disturbed... But right now I have to leave....Dhruv needs me..."

"Really Dhruv needs you...What about Manik NEEDS you...? What do you have to say on that...? "

"Manik you're impossible...I told you na we can continue with this date thing and all later on...But right now Dhruv is important ...."

"More important than me...Haan.."

"Yes more important than you...."

I was taken aback by her words... It pierced like thousand thorns in my heart... She was leaving....

So what Harshad and Dhruv were talking was true...

(Remember the two boys conversation Boy 1 and Boy 2 ,if you have forgotten go back to chapter 52, Boy 1 and Boy 2 were none other than Harshad and Dhruv respectively and Boy 3 was Manik Himself)

I didn't hear further because I thought she would never do this...But I was a fool to believe myself...Shit what a big fool I am...But now  her one Answer will answer everything...

I looked for her ...she was gone but I was sure not too far...

Yes she was walking through the passage when I called her from behind...

"Nandini...."

"Ab kya Manik...."

"Did Dhruv propose you?"

"What?"

"Answer me yes or no" I shouted

"Y-Y-Yes...." she stammered

"Oh I see...so that's why Dhruv is important to you...right...?"  my every word reflected anger...

"What...?"

"Just shut up Nandini....." I screamed

"Manik... you're out of your mind..."

"Really I am out of my mind... ?? No Miss Nandini Murthy a small correction I was out of my mind... But today I came to my senses..."

"Manik...kya bol rahe ho Tum..?"

"I was a fool to believe you... A big fool... Now I get it tum dono hamesha saath kyun rehte the.... He always called you princess and you had no problem in that... Why would you have problem... You enjoyed it na... And I thought I am important to you... But I was so so wrong....You played with my feelings...But actually tum toh Dhruv ke sath enjoy kar rahi thi at the cost of my feelings... I didn't know you were doing all this behind my back....But what about my feelings Nandini... ? Kitne asaani se tumne mere feelings ke sath khela na... haan... Tumne yeh socha hoga na ki Manik is a rich guy...he doesn't have a heart  so  let's play with him ...."

"Shut up Manik..."

"Tum toh badi player nikli..playing with two boys at a time... Playing openly with Manik Malhotra and playing with your so called bestie behind my back... Wow hats off to you Miss Nandini Murthy... "

"Manik... stop it..."

"No I won't... I used to hate Dhruv but now I hate him more...I  won't leave him...He was in this game of yours... You both planned it... So He has to pay for this... "

"Manikkkkkk...." she raised her hand but I held it midway...

"Don't dare to slap me for Dhruv Nandini...." I looked at her dangerously

"And you don't dare to say a word against him Mr Manik Malhotra..."

"Wow I am impressed....!! So much concerned about Dhruv.... Itna concern toh mere liye kabhi nahi dikhaya...?"

"Manik you know what I had respect for you... But now you have lost that too....Mai kuch bhi seh sakti hu but friends ke khilaf ek word bhi nahi..."

"Friends huh... good friends you have... duniya ke samne dosti and cootchie coo behind the scenes..."

"Manik..." She shouted...

"Chillao mat...Even I know to scream..."

"You know what Manik... I HATE YOU... I HATE YOU MR MANIK MALHOTRA... I HATE YOU and DON'T EVER SHOW YOUR FACE TO ME "  she screamed her lungs out

Yeah she would toh hate me only.. because she loves....

Yes I was already hurt ....But these words added a pinch of   salt to my wounded heart...

Gathering strength I spoke...

"Same here... I HATE YOU NANDINI MURTHY.. I HATE YOU... DID YOU HEAR THAT I HATE YOU... AND YES EVEN I DON'T WANNA SEE YOU EVER AGAIN... SO THIS IS OUR END..."

"YES WE'RE OVER...."

I turned my face away

And she left the place not caring to have a last look....

Yes it was over.... What happened was completely opposite to what I had planned...

Nandini is walking on the road .... Her eyes seem to shed a vast ocean of tears... Her first meeting with Manik flashes in front of her eyes... Her first hug...the moment when Manik took her in his arms and decended the temple steps... their constant bickerings are running in front of her eyes...

On the other hand Manik after coming back to the venue  throws the ring and bouquet in a fit of anger... He throws away the table cloth and turns the table upside down... the table cloth flows away and falls somewhere amidst the candles....

Aisa bhi kya milna, saath hoke tanha

Nandini remembers the good old days..the performances they gave together...their light romantic moments...then she remembers the memories of the Shimla trip...and also the tragedy of snake bite that made her realise that she loves Manik... her final realisation of love during their concerts and also the first date and diwali memories keep playing in her mind.. Her mind wasn't at peace... her heart was wailing loudly..with such a heavy heart she hired an auto ...

Gair sa hua khud se bhi, na koi mera

Manik starts drinking...and finished a bottle and two in a matter of few minutes...His eyes are blood red ..... He remembers every moment ...right from their first meet to first hug...from jungle moments to their duet performance..from Shimla trip to he lying on hospital bed...from his first date to diwali night when he had a hell lot of fun with drunk Nandu...the more he got engrossed in the days spent with Nandini...the more his eyes spit fire...

Nandini eyes are continuously shedding tears.. Low sobs escape her lips...but she palms her lips so that it goes unnoticed by the auto driver... It seems she has fallen into a dark pit where there's only darkness all around her...there seems no respite from the invincible pain she is going through...On the other hand Manik breaks the bottle hard on the floor... And takes a piece of broken glass and pierces it hard on his left wrist until blood starts oozing out... Meanwhile the table cloth catches fire and a ring of fire forms around Manik... While Nandini reaches her destination Manik on the other hand lies unconscious on the floor with fire blazing around him....

Hello guys... So the official date turned into a disaster...  Everything is ruined in a second... Destiny played its game... So will Manik and Nandini's hearty feelings be unsaid forever...? Stay tuned to know what destiny has planned for them... And keep voting and commenting... I won't post the next update until I get a good number of comments...
