Chapter 3: Finally Family (Seasonal)
We reached the Treestay forest. Sure, it looked like any kind of forest at first, but this is Mythiverse. I saw many for nature themed mythological creatures. Of course, much like town, tons of nature dragons roamed peacefully. It was exciting seeing the most feared of beasts roan so peacefully and acting like everyday humans. What amazed me however, where the humongous trees. Like the town, it had many trees for buildings. But for this place, it a few giant trees filled with holes for creatures to live in. But the holes were huge. One hole looked like a thousand woodpeckers pecked at the same spot. And these holes were everywhere. I'm guessing the ones that were the highest were for the dragons as they were the only creatures I saw that could reach up there.
"Race you to that hole!" Forrest shouted flying at a particular opening. I wanted to take my time, but I couldn't let Forrest win. I flew off after him. One thing I noticed was I seemed a lot quicker than Forrest. I easily passed him and won the race.
"Hey! How did you get that fast?!" Forrest asked eventually reaching the opening. What I saw was beautiful. I have never been inside a tree before (obviously), so it was definitely a incredible view. It was one room, but it looked incredible. I saw a nature dragon approach me. He looked strong. His scales were like Forrest's. A not too bright but a not too dark color. He didn't have any of the cool markings the Forrest had either. But he did wear what appeared to be a sorta lumberjack hat on. "Who are you?" He asked in a deep voice.
"I am Seasonal. I am a seasonal dragon on a quest to find my family." I answered.
"Oh. That's certainly a goal. Though did you wander off or something?" He asked.
"No. They didn't become mythological creatures like me so their stuck at Aniverse." I responded.
"I am terribly sorry. Luckily me and my son both became dragons. It is much easier to communicate and live together." The father said.
"It's alright. Though where is your wife? You do have a son after all." I asked since there was no other dragons.
"Oh. She up and left. She was going through a lot of stress and one day decided to leave us behind to start a new life. I definitely miss her. Forrest sometimes acts just like she did when she was happy. Very reckless but always with a wide smile." The father explains sadly.
"I'm so sorry." I respond.
"It's alright." The father responds.
"Anyways, you look quite intimidating. What is your name?" I ask.
"I get that a lot. Even as a human. Though I try to be as kind as I can. Some have called me the Gentile Giant. As for my name, it's simple. Jack. Just like as in lumberjack." Jack answers.
"Jack is a nice name. I have another question Jack." I say.
"What would that be?" Jack asked.
"This might sound strange. But I met your son right before he attacked his...girlfriend. I stopped both, but Snow Wing is saying she wants you to adopt me so I was safe. I just wanted to ask if you wanted to do that until I found my real family." I explained. It felt so weird saying this out loud.
"I'm not sure. Forrest is already a handful. I don't think I could handle another." Jack sighed.
"But dad. Seasonal won't be here much. He just needs a home." Forrest chimed in.
"Alright then. He can stay." Jack said.
"Thank you so much Jack. I promise I won't cause too much havoc." I ensure. Forrest jumped in the air.
"Yes! I have a brother now! And a Seasonal brother at that!" He yelled.
"Wait, you're excited? During our walk here, you sounded very annoyed." I asked unexacting his reaction.
"Well, the breakup was more on my mind. Plus I wasn't sure it was even going to happen." Forrest answered.
"Seasonal. Forrest. Dinner us ready." Jack called.
"Oh boy! Dinner! I hope dad made his fruity smoothies!" Forrest cheered. I wasn't a fan of fruit flavored drinks, but oddly enough, the sound of it actually sounded pretty good.
"It has to be one of these dragon instincts." I thought as I followed Forrest. There wasn't actually any tables, but rather a blanket. Just like a picnic.
"Very clever." I thought liking the idea. I sat down and saw Forrest slurping down his smoothie. It was all over his face. I noticed how excited he was as his tail was wagging like a dog. It was actually quite adorable. Jack however wasn't too happy with how his son was acting. I sat down right by my fruity smoothie. It looked actually very healthy despite the name. Jack must've went around and gathered enough fruit for this. I wasn't a fan of fruit, but this looked good. Plus I didn't want to be rude in front of Jack.
"Come on Seasonal! Chug it down!" Forrest shouted. I couldn't hold the drink like a human would. I actually had to drink it like a dog and go head first into it. It was surprisingly delicious. And it looked healthy. So I went at a polite pace and eventually finished.
"Seasonal, let me show you my resting spot." Forrest said dragging me to another corner. It was what appeared to be grass.
"My dad created this area with his Nature abilities. You're going to love it. It's just like a warm blanket!" Forrest cheered getting curled up. I followed him and sat down in the comfortable grass. I immediately felt right at home as the grass acted as a warm blanket.
"Thanks for adopting me. I'll try to be as good of a older brother as possible." I said feeling relaxed.
"Me to. Though I never had any siblings before. So this is new." Forrest responded.
"I only had a younger sister. But I know a brother will be different." I said.
"Yep. I am DEFINITELY not a girl." Forrest giggled.
"Though I'm curious. When are we seeing Snow Wing again?" I asked. Forrest started to laugh.
"Aaaaaawwwwww. Seasonal misses his lovely Snow Wing."
"Hey! Why are you saying that? Your the dragon that just dated her." I snapped back.
"I don't know. She seemed very interested in you." Forrest laughed.
"Knock it off. She didn't. And I'm going to leave if you keep this up." I warned.
"No! Don't go bro! I'm only kidding around like a little brother would!" Forrest panicked. I paused for a moment and sighed.
"Alright. I know that we've both never had brothers so I understand you not knowing how to act. But please promise me you'll act like yourself." I asked.
"I promise. And to answer your question, I see her everyday. We'll probably meet at the Castle Siege tournament tomorrow. I have a game to win!" Forrest answered.
"Oh you play the game as well?" I asked.
"Oh yeah! I love what I played of it! My father actually makes the Nature Dragon pieces." Forrest responded.
"He dose?" I asked shocked to hear that.
"Oh yeah. Each Zone has a different material they use for their pieces. Ours is wood. It's a fun way to show what Zone you're from and represent it. Plus it adds variety. My father has worked hard to make pieces." Forrest explained.
"How long was I knocked out for? It seems everyone knows this land and I don't." I wondered.
"Well, get some rest. We have a big day tomorrow brother!" Forrest said.
"You're right. Well goodnight." I said.
"Goodnight!" Forrest said. With that, both now siblings got their first nights rest. Tomorrow was going to be a challenge.
