Special types:
Animus dragons: dragons with power over objects, animals, and even other dragons. Their magic comes from their soul, and with every spell casted, more pieces of their soul get taken away. As animuses lose more and more of their soul, they go crazy. Once they lose their entire soul, they go completely insane.
Fireborn: a Skywing hatched from a twin egg that sucked the fire out of its twin, giving one too much fire, and one not enough. These dragons have what is called "fire scales", which means they are incapable of being touched unless a dragon were to have fireproof scales due to their touch being hotter than even normal fire.
Moonborn: A Nightwing that has hatched under a full moon, two full moons, or three full moons. A first full moonborn has only one single power, which is either the ability to read minds or the ability to see into the future; twice moonborn dragonets have both gifts; and thrice moonborn dragonets have both as well as hatching as an animus.
Unsib: a Mudwing that has lost siblings during war. Usually these Mudwings resort to finding another group of Mudwings or a group of other dragons due to them being extremely dependent.
Singleborn: A Mudwing with no siblings. Similar to an Unsib, but these dragons never had any siblings in the first place. Singleborns are extremely rare, due to Mudwings depending on their siblings to keep them alive. Singleborns usually die prematurely due to Mudwing parents generally not caring for their dragonets, along with the fact they rely on their siblings and cannot survive without them. Singleborns who do survive usually go on to have singleborn dragonets, which will also usually die unless the parent is willing to care for them.
A Mudwing born from a blood red egg: Mudwings from blood red eggs are born every few years. These Mudwings have fireproof scales, and can survive from almost anything that could be considered a fire related injury. When these dragons do get hurt from fire, the wound will heal within seconds.
Bigwings: the eldest sibling in a group of Mudwing siblings. The younger siblings rely on the Bigwings the most, due to them usually being the biggest and strongest. Bigwings are the ones who break their younger siblings out of their eggs.
Places:
Pyrrhia: the name of the continent where all the seven dragon tribes live.
Here is a map of the continent:
Possibility: a city of unity in hopes of the possibility of peace. Dragons from all seven tribes live together in harmony, and many see this city as a utopia.
Sanctuary: A town similar to Possibility in the foothills of the Claws of the Clouds Mountains. It is known for its scavenger sanctuary, which is how the town got its name.
Queen Thorn's Stronghold: the Sandwing royalty location. Some call it the "Sandwing castle"
Jade Mountain Academy: a school founded by the Dragonets of Destiny to create a learning environment where all seven tribes can learn together.
Red Army Base: the base of the Red Army led by Tord of the Skywings; its location is top secret and has never been found.
Talons of Peace: a peace group founded by a Seawing named Nautilus. They formed during the War of Sandwing Succession and still exist to this day. However, after the War of Sandwing Succession ended, Nautilus stepped aside and a Seawing named Riptide became the new leader.
The Lost Continent: a continent that is said to exist with other different dragons living on it. Its existence is confirmed, however like the name says, it is lost and we most likely won't find it anytime soon.
Summer Palace: a Seawing castle created by Prince Albatross for the Seawings to migrate to in the summer. However, it became their permanent location during the War of Sandwing Succession so Princess Blister could easily find them. However, after the Summer Palace Bombing occurred, the Seawings fled to the Deep Sea Palace, and still currently reside there.
Deep Sea Palace: the current location of the Seawings. It is a palace that only Seawings can get to, due to it being underwater.
Important Events:
War of Sandwing Succession: also known as the "Great War", it involved all the tribes in some way. It started when Queen Oasis was killed by three scavengers, and her three daughters Blister, Blaze, and Burn fought for the throne by getting all the other tribes involved in the war. The war ended when Burn died from being bitten by a dragonbite viper, Blister died from exploding into a pile of ash after putting on the Eye of the Onyx, and Blaze bowed to Thorn since the Eye of the Onyx chose her as the better Queen.
Nightwing Exodus: During the period of the Great War, the Nightwings kidnapped, tortured, and experimented on Rainwings due to them being the only tribe knowing the Rainwings had venom. They did this out of fear that the Rainwings would declare war when the Nightwings tried to take the Rainforest, despite their titles of being lazy back then. They lived in an active volcano, in which would erupt very soon. There then became an agreement that Starflight and Queen Glory proposed that the Nightwings could stay in the Rainforest if they accepted Glory as their Queen. Princess Greatness approved of this idea, however Queen Battlewinner despised it. Queen Battlewinner ended up dying, and Glory became the Queen of both the Rainwings and Nightwings.
For the Nightwings to be allowed into the Rainforest Kingdom, they had to swear allegiance to Queen Glory. Due to the Rainwings not trusting them, they had to each be watched by two Rainwing guards for months until they were somewhat trustworthy.
The Rainwing Royal Challenge: a challenge in which Queen Glory and her Rainwing friends Mangrove, Kinkajou, Tamarin, and her brother Jambu went up against the Rainwing queens to restore order to the Rainforest Kingdom. Glory won when Grandeur forfeited her challenge with Kinkajou after accidentally hitting her with her venom and accepted Glory as the better Queen.
Albatross and the Royal Seawing Massacre: a tragic event that took place over two thousand years ago and involved the deaths of almost all the Seawing royal family. Princess Sapphire, Queen Pearl ( known as Princess Pearl at the time ), Prince Fathom, and Prince Current were the only survivors of the royal Seawing line. Princess Sunrise of the Skywings along with her guard were killed as well. Prince Albatross killed nearly everyone at the party Queen Lagoon was throwing due to losing his soul. He was eventually killed by Indigo, a royal guard of Queen Pearl who disappeared with Prince Fathom after Prince Arctic's death.
Fall of the Mudwing Royals: a point in time when the Mudwing kingdom was split apart due to their Queen dying and not having any heirs. Many of the tribes were involved in this war, and it was one of the first world wars. However, it was not as severe a war as the War of Sandwing Succession, so it is often forgotten. By normal civilians, that is.
Summer Palace Bombing: an event that happened near the end of the War of Sandwing Succession in which the Skywings bombed the Summer Palace, the location of the Seawings. Many Seawings died, and after the event, the Seawings fled to the Deep Sea Palace.
Sun Time: a period during Midday where Rainwings take a nap in the sunshine for about an hour. This extra amount of sleep under the sun keeps them happy, healthy, and colorful.
Brightest Night: the name for the night when all the three moons are full. This only happens once every century.
The Scorching: when the dragon tribes rose together, with their queens and armies, to take Pyrrhia from the scavengers. Thanks to this event, dragons now rule the world, are unified, and get help whenever they need it.
Important Figures:
Dragonets of Destiny: five dragonets who were destined to stop the War of Sandwing Succession.
There were suppose to be a Mudwing, Seawing, Skywing, Nightwing, and Sandwing; however instead of a Skywing and Sandwing, there were a Rainwing and a Sandwing-Nightwing hybrid. The prophecy was later revealed to be fake, however the dragonets still stopped the war anyway. Here are their names:
Mudwing: Clay
Seawing: Princess Tsunami
Rainwing: Queen Glory
Nightwing: Starflight
Sandwing-Nightwing: Princess Sunny
Red Leader: the leader of the Red Army. He's a powerful animus, and his real name is "Tord of the Skywings" according to Queen Ruby and her council. The army he leads has dragons from all seven tribes, and their goal is unknown. The army itself is well hidden, and very secretive.
Morrowseer: the author of the fake Dragonet Prophecy
Nautilus: the founder of the Talons of Peace
Riptide: the current leader of the Talons of Peace
Moonwatcher: one of the only Nightwings who still has powers and was the one who spoke the Jade Mountain prophecy
Princess Nightshade: the daughter of Queen Glory and King Deathbringer. Her birth is often symbolized as the unity of the Rainwings and Nightwings, and is often praised for this.
Darkstalker: a widely feared animus that was the most powerful dragon in the world over two thousand years ago. He made himself immortal, and casted many other powerful spells. He killed many Icewings, including his father, Prince Arctic, whom was the last of the Icewing animuses. He was eventually stopped when Prince Fathom enchanted a bracelet to put him into a deep sleep, and his soulmate Clearsight slid the band on his wrist.
Two thousand years later, he rose from the ground, awake and a giant. He casted a spell on everyone so they would automatically like him and trust him even if they had opposite feelings before. He terrorized all the tribes, and almost succeeded in ruling them all... He was stopped, however. No one knew how except for the ones who were there that night, and they have not revealed of how he was stopped and who stopped him.
Princess Orca: the first daughter of Queen Coral. She was an animus and hid her powers from her family. She challenged her mother when she was only seven years old, and nearly won, but Queen Coral ended up killing her. Her last words were "I did this all wrong. You're going to rule forever, aren't you, Mother? You should thank me. No one can stop you now."
The meaning of these last words were later revealed when Princess Tsunami was protecting Princess Auklet's egg from a statue Orca had enchanted. The statue was enchanted to kill any heirs in the royal hatchery, whether they were in their eggs or not. The statue has been destroyed, and will never kill again.
Objects:
Eye of the Onyx: an animus enchanted necklace that is said to have existed due to an old Sandwing Queen not having worthy daughters.
Dreamvisitor: a large, blue, star-shaped sapphire that when pressed against the forehead, can take you into anyone's dreams that you wish. Only three exist in the entire continent.
Darkstalker's Talisman: a scroll enchanted by the widely feared animus Darkstalker to keep his magic outside of his body. He did this so he would not lose his soul every time he enchanted something or casted a spell.
Dragonflame Cactus: used as bombs due to the fact when they come in contact with fire, they explode. When explosion occurs, fiery bits of cactus and seed pods are sent everywhere. They grow only in high altitudes.
Obsidian Mirror: an animus-touched, oval-shaped piece of glittering, black obsidian. It can be activated by saying the name of the dragon that you want to see, then by breathing smoke onto it. The dragons appear as colored tendrils of smoke, making vision unclear, but voices and background noises can be heard perfectly clear. When used, it creates a feeling as if it is pulling something out of the user's heart accompanied by a sick, slithering sensation through the user's blood.
Animals:
Scavengers: short, pale creatures with fur on the tops of their heads. They have two long legs and two dangling arms that end in floppy, clawless talons.
To get an idea of the size comparison between scavengers and dragons, here is Smolder the Sandwing and his pet scavenger, Flower:
Dragonbite Viper: the only snake in the world that can kill a dragon. Most of them live in the desert.
Languages:
Aquatic: a Seawing language that has become more well known after the War of Sandwing Succession ended. Seawings flash their scales at each other to communicate. Seawings are the only ones who can speak it, however other dragons can still learn to understand it. Deaf dragons learn Aquatic to use Seawings as translators.
Núi: A language that is used by only 7% of all Pyrrhians, most of which being Skywings, Sandwings, and Icewings. Dragons from other tribes that know the language most likely have learned it from a dragon from those three tribes. It is an ancient language used by dragons who resided in the mountains, however it is still used today. A popular time it was used was when it was during the Fall of the Mudwing Royals, when Skywings and Icewings would send secret messages to each other in Núi.
Spansk: Like Núi, Spansk is an ancient language that was also popular during the Fall of the Mudwing Royals. However, it is very different from Núi, and is mostly spoken by southern tribes such as Sandwings, Mudwings, and Rainwings. It is an almost dead language to Rainwings, however Mudwings and Sandwings still use it widely to this day. It is more spoken than Núi: 15% of all Pyrrhians speak it.
Prophecies:
The Dragonet Prophecy:
When the war has lasted twenty years...
The dragonets will come.
When the land is soaked in blood and tears...
The dragonets will come.
Find the Seawing egg of deepest blue. Wings of night shall come to you.
The largest egg on mountain high
will give you the wings of sky.
For wings of earth, search through the mud
for an egg the color of dragon blood.
And hidden away from the rival queens,
the Sandwing egg awaits unseen.
Five eggs to hatch on brightest night, five dragons born to end the fight. Darkness will rise to bring the light.
The dragonets are coming...
The Jade Mountain Prophecy:
Beware the darkness of dragons,
Beware the stalker of dreams,
Beware the talons of power and fire,
Beware the one who is not what she seems.
Something is coming to shake the earth,
Something is coming to scorch the ground.
Jade Mountain will fall beneath thunder and ice
Unless the lost city of night can be found.
Unnamed Prophecies from Over Two Thousand Years Ago:
Dragon of chaos, tangling the webs,
Too many eyes and too many threads.
___________________________
From far to the north, a prince will arrive,
Seething with darkness and sparkling with ice,
In his blood runs a gift for the whole Nightwing tribe,
But it comes with a terrible price.
___________________________
Hatched of ice and hatched of night, cursed with moons all shining bright. Longs for power not his own, comes to steal your very throne.
___________________________
Beware of your two queens,
beware of your own power.
Your claws will betray you in your final hour.

The Seawing brings death.
The Seawing brings salvation.
Don't let him come.
He must come, or all is lost.
Other important information:
• If I were to give this book an age rating, I'd say PG-13. Due to the foul language and mention of sexual topics.
However, the big warning I need to give off is the gore warning.
The gore in here won't be too too specific, but it won't be very vague either. It's pretty much gonna be how Tui describes the gory scenes in the Wings of Fire books, and considering the book series is directed towards minors, it shouldn't be too bad.
However if you want me to give warnings at the beginning of chapters, please tell me! But just know some of the important scenes in this book will contain gore and are kinda hard to skip.
You have been warned.
• the prologue of this book is REALLY long. Seriously, it's over 9000 words. I'm not kidding. The chapters in this book will not usually be THAT long, however they will usually be around 1000 words long.
• dragons age differently than humans do. To get an idea of what each age means, I'll give you this:
0-2: childhood
3-5: pre-adolescence
6-9: young adult
10+: adult
Dragons usually live up to be 150 years old unless killed sooner.
• even though the story will mostly be about Tord, there will be times where it'll be from another character's perspective ( third person limited ). When it is, I'll say it before the chapter begins.
• For those of you who are wondering what each color means emotion wise for Rainwings, I'll give you this:
• the Introduction will most likely be updated a lot. So check it often!
• If you want something or someone explained, just ask me and I'll add them here!
Without further ado, let the journey begin!
