Step.
Step.
Step.
"Ah, man... I'm gonna be so late, and Aizawa-Sensei's gonna be so pissed. Hm, this'll be fun. Yes, fun."
You heaved a breath, and then sharply exhaled, glancing forwards at your incoming surroundings. Your heeled uniform shoes clicked against the cobblestone walkway of U.A. High School, the High School for Heroes.
The glistening sky mocked you silently as you raised a brow up at the puffy clouds drifting past you. You were walking at a rather brisk pace, as you'd rather not be as late as you currently were. Interrupting Aizawa's class was not something on your bucket list of things to do before you die. Yet, unfortunately, doing so you would experience the event, and then pass over to "the next life", meaning you're dead.
You haven't been late yet, so hopefully he'll let you slip by with a warning this time. Key wording: hopefully.
Fixing your gaze to the tree-aligned road you were traveling along, you felt a familiar buzz strike your thigh. You dug your hand into your skirt pocket and pulled out your (favorite color) cellphone. The screen was illuminated with a newly arisen notification of an arrived text message.
With your brow previously raised, the other one joined it to a peak, creating your oblivious facial expression. "What in the hell is Denki doing texting me during class? I swear..." you left off on that note, clicking open the notification and quickly responding to him.
—
Denkichu:
Hey! U late or not coming to school?
(Y/n):
I'm just late, calm yourself
Denkichu:
Good
(Y/n):
Good? What does that mean?
Denkichu:
Nvm that. Just get here already lol
(Y/n):
Jesus Christ, okay!

With heavy breaths, you slowly ajared the classroom door, and peeked inside, immediately shifting your wandering eyes to the front of the room. You smiled apologetically towards the black-haired male, waving at him awkwardly.
"Sorry I'm late, Aizawa-Sensei, and for interrupting class. I have a note from home." You admitted sheepishly, holding up a folded piece of parchment that you summoned from the depths of your (rather small, ironically from previous wording) pocket.
The man huffed with an unnamused tone, and just looked away from you back to the stack of papers he had been holding. "You can give it to me after class, I'll mark you present. Just stop causing a scene and take your seat, someone will inform you on what you are supposed to be doing."
"Yes, Sensei."
You shuffled to your desk, which happened to be right behind mister Kaminari himself, clinging your backpack to the chair's back and pulling out a notebook and pencil. After you had made it appear that you were actually prepared for class, you leaned forward in your seat to try and get the blonde boy's attention.
But, sure enough, that notion wasn't needed, as he pretty much "sensed", as he so claims in previous times, that you needed his help, he was already turned around with a bright grin painted across his lips. "So, why were you late, hm?" He was obviously just going to use this information to tease you about it the rest of the day.
"You do not need to know this information, my good sir, for you need to help me with what in the hell we're actually supposed to be doing right now." You stated, quickening your words towards the end, and you also didn't breathe until you were finished with your sentence.
Denki just snickered and playfully rolled his eyes. "Fine, don't tell me." He paused, and turned around, picking something up and shifting back to face your direction. He held his notebook in front of you, along with a single sheet of paper with a rubric printed to the front of it and extra information about the assignment on the back.
"We basically are just gathering information about the internships we applied for, so we'll have a better understanding of what we chose for when we actually start them." He explained, rather well, for how very rarely often he pays full attention to the lesson going on in class.
You pulled out your phone and took a quick picture of the rubric and the other information side, saving them to use for the project research at home. You let out a gentle laugh as you mentally gave a "look" at Aizawa. "Thanks, Denki, I appreciate it. But geez, that would have been helpful before I sat down completely clueless, Aizawa-Sensei."
The blonde boy remained his amused expression, as you then dug through your backpack to search for a highlighter to help label the information on the rubric (which you were going to copy into your notebook) that you would do at home, just to separate the amount of work that you would have to do between locations. Made it easier for you to get at least some relaxation done, which you needed; even if it wasn't much, it'd still feel beneficial to have.
—
You stretched out your arms, possibly cracking your shoulders and a few joints in your lower back. Once you compressed again, you let out a relieved breath, staring at the bland color of your locker labeled '(Y/n) (L/n)', proving your ownership. With an outstretched hand, you turned the knob and swung open the metal door, completely prepared to retrieve your things and go home for the afternoon.
But, what you were not prepared for, was the small piece of folded paper that slipped out of the locker vent and onto the tiled floor beside you feet. Peaking your brows for the second time today, you kneeled down and picked it up, shutting the metal door when you flattened your spine while standing back up.
"I swear, if this is another note from the Principal to mom about that freaking— oh?" You bit your tongue upon reading the hand-written letter, and what was strange was that you didn't recognize that writing with the signed "name" at the bottom.
'Welcome, (Y/n), to this reading:
At the end of this road, you will find yourself with a rather... shocking, surprise. I will give you hints and clues to follow, and you must follow them well, for if you reach the end, I will be waiting to unveil your prize for your successful efforts. Your first hint, if you choose to accept, is written on the back of this page.
I hope to see you soon, at the end of the game :)
-Signed, CB.'
With a perplexed expression, you let out a gentle breath of air. After a short moment of processing what you had just read, and who in the world "CB" was, you smiled to yourself and and giddily flipped the page over. What'd you have to lose? Obviously it's a student here, since infiltrating U.A. isn't exactly an easy feat, so if the person secretly wants to pick a fight, "Square up, attacker, I'ma be headin' your way." You laughed, reading over the instructions on the parchment back and making your way out the large front gate of the High School for Heroes.
—
With the previous parchment in hand, you read over it again, processing the riddle in your head. "Destination One, the biggest tree at a place where public play, usually children are there to spend their day?" Hm... I'm going to say that it's the public park near Kindo Street!"
Your interest was heightened rather aggressively, now, as you were on your way to the destination of your second piece of paper. Well, you assumed that it would be another piece of paper. With the first note in hand, you gazed around the wall that blocked the view of the park, and shifted your eyes to the largest tree that you could notice, by your angle.
Quickly skipping to it, the first note didn't give any indication of where near the tree it would be, so you just looked around like a spastic pigeon for a few seconds before you noticed above you was a (favorite color) string. Mind wandering, you tugged on it, and sure enough, yet another piece of parchment tumbled down and flopped to the grassy floor.
You reeled it into your grasp with the string, untied the neatly-done knot on it, and fumbled it open with newly arisen excitement in your chest. Upon opening it, you stuffed the previous one in your pocket, and read the new one.
'You found it! Congrats! (If you are not (Y/n) and were not given the note before this one, PUT IT BACK IN THE TREE, DUDE—)
Now, there is only one more note after this one, which means you're close to your surprise, my friend. On the back, such as last time, will be your clue. I wish you luck, and am waiting at the end for your arrival. I wish you luck.
Signed, CB'
You bit your bottom lip and quickly flipped to the back of the page, excited to read what was in store on the back. It was yet, another riddle:
'Destination Two, hidden in a place that none other than a few close friends knows, and in a box that to faintly glows.
P.S. "Ecretsae Roupgae"'
"What in the heck? A place that only me and one other person knows? Glowing boxes? Where in the frickin world would that be— oh! Oh! Oh my All Might, I understand! That's the secret password at the bottom! We haven't gone there in forever!!"
With sudden adrenaline like no tomorrow, you began jogging towards a street in which you and some friends found a hidden alleyway at a few years back, before Middle School. You had completely forgotten about it until now, as you hadn't been since you started your second year of Middle School. Not that you and your friends branched off or anything, you all still were very tightly connected, you all just didn't get together to play card games or make-believe anymore. You felt your lips tug upwards at the sudden rushing memories of your younger years. You forgot how much you missed that.
Setting aside the joyous memories, you fixed your eyes down the road in which you were now heading. It was a small one, and you only stopped halfway up the hill due to arriving upon your destination.
Using your hand to gently push back an overgrown tree branch that hung from somebody's yard elevated above you, you peered into the long, mysterious alleyway. With a jittery smile dancing across your lips, you saw a small, white cardboard box with holes cut into it, which was allowing small beams of light to pour through.
Carefully picking it up from the cold, gravely ground, you removed the lid and held it up against the bottom of the box. Peeking inside, you noticed a well-crafted necklace that reflected the sunlight ever so perfectly. The pendant in the middle seemed to be that of a thick, glassy material that was held there by silver wire and held firmly by a matching silver chain.
You quickly put it on, feeling the chilling metal against your neck, and pulling out the next piece of parchment that was resting neatly against the bottom of the small box. Flipping it open, you smiled upon the contents, reading over the last and final note before your journey would be at its end.
'Destination Three, your final place, where someone who you know sits and waits. A place with a singular tree, in front of a neighborhood, in front of the house of the one who helped you this morning do good.
P.S. Just wait by the big blooming tree once you get there.'
"Alright.. who "helped me do good" this morning?" You took a moment to think on it, as all the other clues and running around the city made you forget pretty much the whole fact that you even went to school this morning. With the sudden realization, you perked up, flashing a toothy grin and immediately running to your classmates house; luckily, from where you were, it was rather closeby.
"Denki, you dork, if this is what I think this is."
After a good solid few minutes of sprinting, panting for breath, you happened upon the blonde boy's neighborhood, and rested your arm against the tall, blooming Sakura tree. Attempting to catch your breath, you huffed and puffed, a few short wheezes escaping your lips. Eventually you had enough oxygen to stand upright, and looked ahead of you, at the tall hedge that blocked your view of your electric classmate's house. The note didn't say how long to wait, or who would even be there to show up; it just said it was someone you knew. Helpful.
You could guess that it was Denki, but... he didn't seem like the type of person to put all of this together. You never knew, but, you also knew him for a long time, and he was always rather straightforward.
"Hey! You actually showed up!"
Jolting up from looking down at your feet, you saw none other than Denki Kaminari himself, hands in his pant pockets and charming smile along his face. You couldn't help but return the smile, your heart rate quickening with joyfulness.
"Denki! So it was you! What's this all about?" You asked, hopefully, taking a few lingering steps closer to the male in front of you.
The smiling boy began to rub the back of his neck sheepishly, as he kept glancing up and down from his feet to your eyes. "Well, I guess you could say I wanted to ask an important question, but didn't have the guts to." He laughed a bit towards the end, clicking his tongue.
With a gentle punch to his shoulder, you looked him straight in the eyes. "You know you can ask me anything, right?"
For some reason, saying that statement right at the moment felt... odd. You couldn't describe it. You two showed your relationship as a friendly, "buddy buddy" type scenario, and you two were okay with that, but... for that moment, you wanted it to change. Your stomach shifted as your heart rate quickened, your breaths becoming heavy and pounding in your chest.
"Yeah, I know," he replied, not glancing upwards anymore, like he had been previously. The atmosphere suddenly felt more tentious. "But this will probably be either the most important question of my life, or the most embarrassing, whichever comes first."
You could tell he was stalling for time, and it made you wonder if he was going to ask the question you oh-so desperately craved from him. You never figured he would appreciate you the same way you did him, but you never could tell with him. His personal feelings were always a complete mystery to you; you found it intriguing... captivating.
"Well, I'm listening. You have my full attention." You stated with a sincere smile, really not knowing how to respond to his statement.
Denki huffed a shaking breath, pausing for a moment. And in that moment, the silence was like a sheet of closure; a moment of thought and recognition. The indescribable feeling of just being able to be within this boy's presence without cracking a joke or contagious laugh, it felt... jovial.
With a slow arm, he reached behind him, and then began to extend it back out towards you. His palm was gently closed, as your eyes trailed down to his adjourn hand, only being able to wonder what dwelled within it.
Without a single word, he opened his palm to reveal a small, silver pendant with a (First Initial) engraved on it; but of course, the actual thing was molded into a heart shape. Will a light tint to his cheeks, he finally looked back in your direction with hopeful eyes.
"Would you, well... you know... g-give me a chance to go out with you?"
With that, another pause. It took a moment for your brain to process and for your mouth to move. Your lips churned into a bright smile, and cheekily let out a gasp before rushing forwards and embracing the blonde boy into a tight hug.
"Of course!"
Both of you felt the heavy relief of getting the questions and answers out of the way, and deepening into the result. Denki wrapped his arms around your back and held you close to him, locking in the embrace.
After a bit, you two pulled away, and you looked at him, with one final question. "So... how long did that whole shtick take you to make?"
The blonde chuckled and again, rubbed the back of his neck. "Well... maybe an hour or two, because I had to get Jiro to help me."
"Well then, we'll have to thank her later."
