With one lazy hand, I shut off my alarm clock. Just as I was about to get ready for the morning, and text message came through my phone:

Megumin: 'Kirov-sama, will you accompany on my EXPLOSION practice with me today? So that we can vanquish the demon king's army sooner..."

"Ok." I replied in a simple text.

"Really? I am grateful! I will see you at the usual place!"

With a sigh, I got up and began to make preparations.

"Kirov-sama, consider it an honor that you are about to witness the most destructive magic of this age!" Megumin striked a pose with her staff.

"Hai, hai." I answered tiredly.

We were at the foot of a barren hill within the neighbourhood, and thankfully this region is quite remote so there is barely any people visible even during the day.

"Very well, let us get started." Megumin raised her staff and began to chant.

"Darkness lend me power, and tremble in fear mortal!" She yelled with staff held high, as a feel the heat of energy radiating from her staff, "BEHOLD! The true power of the strongest fire magic! EXPLOSION!!!"

A great ball of fire struck down like a meteor, what was once a giant hill has then been subdued to a smoking crater, with no even the ashes left. The explosion would be all together impressive, I mean it is impressive, but with a discount. Due to the fact that she will always...

"Uhh..." Megumin fell front on her face, and knowing this would happen, I couldn't help but sigh.

"Imgoo$%^&%-" she said with face planted on the ground, her words completely incomprehensible. With a sigh, I walked over and lifted her onto my back and began walking home.

"The days of the...of the demon army are numbered..." Megumin said light headily.

"Yeah, yeah..." I said dismissively, as a series of ring came through my phone. Then with one hand down reaching in an awkward position, I reached down and fetched the phone from my pocket:

"Why are you not online?" came the cold threatening voice of Kuroyukihime over the phone.

"Sorry senpai, I am still on my way home..."

"The legion war happened 10 minutes ago, due to your absence, we lost half of our territory!"

"I am sorry Senpai! Please forgive me!"

"Who's that over the phone?" Megumin curiously asked, and with rapid finger movements I quickly switched the phone to mute.

"Scary demon Senpai you don't want to cross." I replied, hoping the answer would silence her for once and for all.

"Ehhh...is she one of the commanders of the demon army?"

"Scarier than that. She is one of the 9 kings in the other world."

"Then she is our foe, we must be prepared..." Megumin exhaled deeply.

"Kirov. Why are you not responding? Is there another girl with you?" came Kuroyukihime's threating voice on the other end, which I turned off the mute at once to reply:

"Yes, I mean, I am just carrying her home. She is exhausted, I can't just leave her lying there..."

"Be quick about it, and I suspect your neuro-link is not with you as well?"

"Yes Senpai...I left it at home, I was in a hurry..."

"Very well. Get online as soon as you get home. Hmph." She hanged up on the other end.

"Are you going to be alright?" asked Megumin worriedly.

"Of course, don't worry about it."

Truth be told, if it weren't for the fact I was carrying Megumin, I would be being my pants by now.

By the time I finished dropping off Megumin at her home, and came back, I was already an hour late. Wasting no time, I threw off my shoes and made a B line for my room.

"Alright, let me just get my neuro-link..."

"Kirov-san!" a mystic creature of golden hair tackled into me then proceeded to pinning me hard to the ground.

"Get off me Chocolat! I need to get to my room..."

"Kirov-san!" Chocolat yelled. I was stunned, since I never heard her voice so serious before.

"Yes?"

"I see you spending so much time with other women lately!"

"You're getting the wrong idea! There just friends!" well that was the truth, though I hoped to be more than just friends... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

"You're lying!" Chocolat pounded her small fist against my chest, though she was small, her fist still really does pack a punch.

"All you think about is women with big boobs! And all you care about is being a typical harem male protagonist!"

She hit me again, and it kind of stung this time.

Ok, let's be fair here? At what point of life, has any guys not dreamed to become a harem male protagonist? Some guys just think about it a little more...

"Am I not enough? Answer me Kirov-san!"

She pounded her fist rapidly against my chest, squeezing out whatever air was left in my lungs, which made it impossible for me to reply.

"Sto-op..." I could already see the foam coming from my mouth.

"I knew it!" Chocoalt exclaimed, her cheek streaming with hot tears, "All you care about is other women! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!"

She then did one of those mortal combat fatality finish offs, the one in which resulted in punching a hole in my chest. When my soul floated out my body, I watched in horror as she looked down at my lifeless corpse and spoke one last quote:

"There is nothing inside..."
