Detective Conan - At The Coffee Shop
The shady-looking duo slipped inside the closest coffee shop they could find to discuss the newest order from that person, picking out the place close to the corner and away from the window to discuss their plan of action. Two pairs of sharp eyes are trained on the single computer screen, murmuring in low voices to each other when they heard the tell-tale tinkling of a bell. Both their eyes snap reflexively toward the door, looking over the newest customer. To their surprise, a small seven year old with messy hair and his tuxedo, his glasses perched on his nose perfectly walks in. Sharp blue eyes meet theirs, and his gaze lingers, making Rei visibly uncomfortable before his gaze slips away, scanning the rest of the place.
Having met him before, although briefly, Rei notes that the boy didn't spend as much time on his actual surroundings, and more so on the people inside, unlike before. He also notices how easily he chats with the woman at the counter, and she responds in kind. It's as if they know each other well. He decides that the boy is likely a regular here. He turns his attention away from the boy, and apologizes quickly to an annoyed looking Rye, before he once again sets aside his hatred for the man in favor of trying to win over the Organization.
Everyone once in a while, the bell would ring, and steal their attention for a few moments, before they returned to their task, ignoring the nameless people who entered. This went on for what seemed like a few hours (really though, looking back it was only thirty minutes), until a crash and a terrified shriek pierced the warm and friendly atmosphere of Poirot. Three sets of sharp eyes instantly found the source: a woman backing away slowly in fear from a dead man, watching in horror as the pool of blood he lay in grew, originating from his head.
In unspoken agreement, the two of them decided to stay out of the spotlight, despite their good skills in this area of expertise, they didn't want to risk being found out or questioned. It was dangerous, they knew, so they resignedly started putting away their computer and stood to leave. The young boy, however, took one look at the fallen man and took action, surprising them yet again.
"Azusa-san, call the police! You, get away from him! No one can leave this restaurant!" He ordered, urgency in his voice as he started running toward the man. He stoops by him, ignoring the protests from the other patrons and the terrified squeak from the woman who'd been backing away from the bleeding businessman.
He deftly checked his pulse, before shaking his head in defeat. He promptly stood up, and began searching the area for clues.
Upon seeing this, the two blinked in confusion, and were absolutely dumbfounded. A child of seven years, directing people around and searching for clues as to what happened, was astounding. They stood there, frozen in shock as they watched him examine a tiny piece of what looked like hair with tweezers, before slipping it in a small plastic bag.
Why isn't he scared?! Rei's mind shrieked, warning bells sounding in his head. The boy hadn't been disturbed in the slightest! One look at the downed man and he was off the like a shot, barking orders and getting right to business. The weirdest part, no one questioned it. Except a man - who had just come from the bathroom upon hearing the shriek - who had been harshly told to "Shut up and do as he says" courtesy of the girl at the counter.
Is this some kind of common occurrence around here?
The two stiffened when they heard the sirens go off, and watched as a large man with a slightly below average stature walked in, accompanied by two others, a timid looking tall man and a serious looking woman. The duo waited for the boy to be yelled at, or even kicked out. What they didn't expect was for the timid looking one to approach the boy and ask what he'd found, or for the large man to simply sigh and introduce himself to Azusa.
WHAT ON EARTH?! A quick glance at Rye told him that even the usually stoic man was shocked to the core, by the way his eyes were widened slightly, and how his eyebrows seemed more raised than normal.
Why the hell is the Inspector of the POLICE FORCE allowing an obviously seven year old child around a dead body?! His mouth opened and closed silently like a fish as he watched the young boy run around the crime scene.
The young boy was whispering in the timid man's ear now, and when he pulled away, the man stood up and ran toward the Inspector, and asked him to run an autopsy and to check for a type of paralytic. The boy, evidently satisfied with what he found, simply waited for the results to come back.
A while later, the autopsy report found its way into the boy's hands, and he suddenly pointed at the man who'd come from the bathroom, accusing him of murdering the man. They hardly paid attention to this, spacing out from the complete shock. They only caught a few words, "paralytic", "rigor mortis" and "alibi", but snapped out of it when the man collapsed down on the ground, sobbing angrily about how the victim had been blackmailing his corporation, and how if he didn't die they'd go under.
Soon, the investigation was wrapped up, the body carried away and the murderer in cuffs. The boy had left, along with the other patrons, leaving the two of them to just stare and wonder about what the hell and just happened.
The girl behind the counter noticed them and sent them a sympathetic glance, that very obviously said 'You'll get used to this.' before returning to her work, leaving them to their dazed stupor.

THE CURSE STRIKES AGAIN!
Note: Amuro and Shuu-chan hadn't been in Beika in a while, therefore had no idea about this kid. Shuu recognizes him from the papers, but Amuro saw him when he'd been with Mouri at a train station. He caught his eye, and then a murder happened, making their first meeting so much more memorable.
I hope you all enjoy this smol little thing I came up with, see you in the next chapter!
