***Valentine's Countdown- Day 1 -***

"Hey!" A hand shoved against your shoulder and when you didn't respond, it started up a shoving war. Your pencil flew across your page of notes, streaking its perfection with jagged lines of horror.

"Nagi! Knock it off!" You screamed.

"Miss (l/n), please keep your voice down," your teacher said.

You forced yourself to take a deep breath, and then you swiveled towards the chipper blond standing beside your desk. "What do you want?"

"Ne, ne (y/n)-chan, I just wanted to say hi!" Nagisa grinned and his eyes shone like he was sharing the funniest joke in the world. On the other hand on things, you were resisting the urge to throttle him.

"Don't call me (y/n)-chan." You looked back at your notes and continued to scribble down every square inch on the board.

"Ha, you're so uptight, (y/n)-chan! Hey, you know that Valentine's Day is in a week, right?" He plopped his sticky hands down on your desk and you gently shoved them away.

"Valentine's Day is a government conspiracy," you educated him. "And having a girl-friend and such is stupid anyway."

"(y/n)-chan! Don't say negative things like that!"

"Well, it's true!"

Nagisa stood in silence for a moment. Then he spontaneously clapped his hands and burst out with "Oh! Oh! Oh!"

"What?" You glared up at him.

"Would you change your mind if I proved to you that having a girl-friend is a good thing?"

You felt your heart cry out and a pang resounded in your chest. What was he going to do? Ask out one of the popular girls? "Fine," you spat out. "I agree to change my mind if you prove it. But this is impossible."

He didn't notice your miserable glance at your desk as he victoriously fist pumped into the air. "Alright! I'm going to prove it to you!" Nagisa leaned close to you and presented you with a flirty wink. "Heh, you're wrong about girl-friends!"

Your crush leaned even closer towards you, and your skin prickled as you started to feel hot breath tickling your ear. Your shoulders tensed and you immediately froze up.

"You don't know how bad I want to make you my girl-friend," Nagisa seductively whispered. your eyes shot wide open and you felt something press down on your cheek. Something wet. With a shock, you realized what had happened.

Nagisa freakin' kissed me on the cheek!

He gingerly pulled away from your reddening cheeks before leaning back with a satisfied smile. "There's more where that came from!" He gave you another one of those playful winks. Then Nagisa turned around and skipped out of the classroom. You felt your jaw slowly drop as you stared after him. with a ragged sigh, you forced yourself to gather your composure and put your things away.

But on your desk was a note.

A paper heart, actually. And in the middle was a picture of a penguin looking rather flustered as it held out a bouquet of flowers. Will you be my Valentine? the words around the top read.

"Oi! (y/n)-chan! It's lunch time!" Nagisa poked his head back into the classroom.

And for once, you didn't tell him to lay off the chan. You liked the sound of it just fine.
