I could swear that my neighbor was bug. She is that kind of person who asks you over for dinner and gives you gift baskets because she thinks you're depressed, and the kind of person who would break into your house if you weren't answering to see if you ok. I am pretty sure I am fine.

Their was a knock at the door. Luckily I had a peep hole in my apartment door. I looked through it to find my perky neighbor outside my door with another gift basket. I quickly ran to my window and put up a sign that said, "On vacation. Be back soon!" and then ran out my back door. I closed the door while facing it. Breathing hard even though I only ran five steps.

"What are you up to blondy?" A voice came from behind my turn head. I quickly shot my leg up along with my hands in a ninja/attack pose. I am really off today and my magic is not as sharp when I'm tired. When I saw the person who spoke, i was even more suprised. It was a boy about my age with dark blue/black hair. He wore a collared shirt and black jeans.

"None of your business" I huffed as I crossed my arms. "What are you up to, yourself?"

"Oh, nothing really. Just wondering what you were up to." He was getting on my nerves. Heck, everyone gets on my nerves. "Well anyway, I'm Gray. What's your name?"

"You really think I am just going to tell you who I am just because you showed up behind my house?!" I stood in shock at this boy standing in front of my backdoor.

"Um... sure?" Just then my neighbor came around the house and spotted the Gray and I standing there.

"Ah! run!" For some reason I grabbed Gray's wrist and dragged him behind me to safety.

"What's your deal?" He looked back at the way we came and raised an eyebrow.

"Sorry, whatever. Forget it ok." I started walking down the edge of the canal to the market place in the middle of town. I let my blonde hair that escaped from my ponytail fly free. I guess I would have to deal with my living situation some day, so I'll just a job and buy a house far, far away from that lady.

"Hey, wait!" Gray waved me down while trying to catch up to me. "Where are you going?"

"Seriously? Again, none of your business." I kept walking and, again, Gray waved me down again. It seems like he wasn't going to stop following me anytime soon.

"Look. I have nothing else to do today so why don't I hang out with you?" Gray's dark blue eyes pleaded with me.

I started thinking this over in my head with myself.

"Ugh, fine! Whatever." I give up. Gray seemed nice. Right? He's not a stalker or a murderer. Right??Right??He doesn't even know my name. "My name is Rachel, but you can call me Yuki." I haven't actually been called Yuki since my dad died.

"Yuki? Interesting. Where did you get that nickname from?" Gray looked interested.

"Well it's really my middle name. Rachel Yuki Callahan." I always liked my middle name better than my first name, so my parents called me that instead.

"Nice. Well I have to get back to my guild. So much for asking to follow you around." Gray waved to me as he headed of for his destination.

"Guild?" I asked curiously. I read about them before in a magazines that I got from my neighbor. Guilds were for wizards to team up and receive jobs and exchange information. I have never met a wizard from a guild before. I wonder what it's like.

"Well, you know, a guild is for wizards to team up and..." Gray started to explain but I cut him off.

"Ya, I know what a guild is. I meant what guild are you in? What kind of wizard are you?" I couldn't imagine myself hanging out with people ever, but, honestly, I was really interested. This could be the 'job' I've been planning on getting.

"Well." Gray said proudly, "I am in the Fairy Tail guild. Not to brag." He raised his arms up and rested the back of his head on his hands.

"Your in what now?" I don't know any of the guild so I don't know which one to join. Hey!! I just remembered that I had telepathy! I read Gray's mind.

"Wait! You don't know what the Fairy Tail guil..." Grey started

"Oh! The Fairy Tail guild, right!." I was mentally flipping through the files of his brain. I can only read what a person is thinking about in the present. I saw all of his friends and what the guild looked like. He had a friend with pink hair and a pet flying cat. He had some pretty weird friends, but it looks like fun.

"Ok so. That's what guild I am in. And I'm ice wizard. I use maker magic." He suddenly cupped his hands together and closed his eyes in concentration.

"Watch this." Gray looked up at me and opened his hands. A shape made of ice floated from his hands, over to me. It was the Fairy Tail crest. I held out my hands to let it land. I was surprised when it touch my hand.

"It.... It's warm." I looked at him and he was blushing. I read his thoughts and saw that he could make his the temperature/color of his emotion. That's why when he fights, there is only cold ice, because he doesn't like the person he fights. But, here, now he was feeling embarrassed, I guess.

I had just realized I was staring at Gray to read his mind better and snapped out of it.

"Hey!" Gray said trying to change the subject, "You wanna come see the guild with me?"

"Hey ya, that would be fun," Gray started in a direction and I followed. Hold on! To recap this conversation: I was running from my neighbor, I was "picked up" by a random wizard on the street, he doesn't even know i'm a wizard yet, and I wasn't even planning on joining a guild in the first place. I HAVEN'T EVEN PRACTICED MAGIC FOR YEARS!
