Ok, so this is a Pokemon Mega Evolution Special theory I have had for quite awhile. I believe Alain, the hero of the mega evolution series, is professor Sycamore's son. We've been told that he was Professor Sycamore's assistant, and he shares the same ideas about mega evolution with him. The biggest thing that makes me believe they are related is how much they look alike. I mean seriously look for your self.

You can't sit there and tell me they don't look alike, I mean come on man can't you see the resemblance. So for those of you thinking, ok so if he is Professor Sycamore's son than who's the mom. I actually have a theory for that to, in Pokemon XY the anime when you see Professor sycamore you normally see him with a blue haired assistant girl.

My theory is she's Alain's mom, for those of you who don't think she is Alain's mom his mom could be dead or missing or something.

Ok, another reason I think Alain is Professor Sycamore's son is that look how Young Alain is. Do you really think Professor Sycamore would hire such a young person to be his assistant. This theory is kind of loose because in previous seasons we had Brock work with a professor and Tracy work with Professor Oak. If you have no idea who Tracy an Brock  are watch the first few seasons of Pokemon, like the very first seasons of Pokemon.
