Memorable Quotes
" I am just a simple medicine seller. " ~ Kusuriuri-san
Personal Opinion Section
" The Mononoke series, well, it's amazing, isn't it? It took me a moment to get into it due to the unusual animation ( I am very picky on animation ) but after the first episode I was already hooked!
On terms of story, it is interesting and I adores how the plot flows with each episode and arc, and on terms of aesthetics it is definitely on top of my list. Soundtracks are amazing as well. So to be honest, there isn't anything I would say against it? It is such an amazing series that is too underrated in countries other than Japan ( apparently in Japan it is very popular and well-known. ) "

" Yes, Mononoke is an underrated anime, and I would reccomend it. It has an interesting plot and amazing animation, along with much effort being put into the voice acting and everything else.
It is also surprising to know that it was animated using CGI. It really shows the amount of effort put in the anime, so people should watch it. "

" Where should I start?
I could endlessly praise Mononoke; for its gorgeous animation, it's interesting plot and of course, for giving us the grace of seeing Kusuriuri-san again for 12 wonderful episodes! This anime is a one-of-a-kind and form part of those hidden gems that were sadly forgotten amongst all those seasonal anime.
Mononoke takes place in feudal Japan; between the end of the Edo period and Meiji Era of Japan. It's animation style is based on Ukiyo-e. It adds to the unique atmosphere of the anime and together with the soundtracks, which are really fitting, you're in for a good time with this anime. It starts off slowly and it really depends on the viewer themselves for them to like Mononoke or not. Mononoke does not hold back on its horror and covers sensitive themes.
But, when I actually finished watching the anime, I wasn't left traumatised by the horror or anything. I just left thrilled and pondering about what had happened in this anime. I don't how to explain it. Something just striked me in Mononoke but I was satisfied nevertheless. To be honest, I've already watched Mononoke 3 times all over again and I could watch it a 100 times more without getting bored. Not kidding. You know why?
Mostly because of the Medicine Seller himself. But I won't tell you anymore than that. You'll have to watch Mononoke to know why... "
