Goodness...how am I supposed to come up with the top one? There was so many!  

  Ok...I would say the most shocking anime scene for me is from Samurai Champloo.  The moment during the Jin and Sara fight, and then Sara slashed Jin with her spear.  If that wasn't enough, he then fell over the side of the bridge and into the water below.  I thought he was gone.  Dead.  Jin was my favorite character, and he just died without Mugen or Fuu finding out.   It broke my heart.

But then the next episode (I believe?! XD) Jin comes back to Mugen and Fuu.  Holding a basket of fish of all things.  XD   I was just so happy and shocked that he was still alive.  He survived a spear wound, and falling off a bridge to top it all off.     So I guess this is why this is my most shocking anime scene (or should it be more events?).
