Set in the same AU as the previous two chapters/snippets.
But set in the timeline after the events of Episode 29.

It's a smart move to know/have seen the original Animation vs Minecraft, and episode 29 of it.
(It's not necessary, but could help understand better, but the important bit is explained.)

Fear. Darkness. Sweat. Heavy Breathing. High heartbeat. Oinking. Something poking his arm. That was all that Red could make out at the moment he had awoken. Ruben was shoving his snout into his arm in order to wake said boy up. Red quickly opened his eyes and put a hand on Rubens head as a sign that he was awake. But the adrenaline was still very much in his system, and everything was still dark and scary.
But after some seconds, his eyes were a little bit more used to the lighting, and he started to make out the typical things of his room. The tree on his balcony, his stuffed animals in the corner, the potted flower he had gotten from Blue, Ruben sitting next to him. The more he looked at all his familiar stuff, the more he seemed to calm down.

"Thank you for waking me up." He said with a slight smile as he gave his pet pig a kiss on the head.
Ruben was practically his service animal. Just a pig instead of your usual dog, or potentially cat.
He stared up at the ceiling, not really sure if he wants to go and get some more sleep. He soon decided against it, and stood up from his bed.

"I'm going to get some fresh air. You can go back to sleep if you want though, I'm alright by myself at the moment." He told his faithful pet.
He got a oink as an answer, and saw Ruben spin and lay back down again as he was getting himself some more appropriate clothes for going outside.
"Good night, hope you get a better nights rest than I had." Red said as he petted Rubens head before heading outside.
He said he wanted just some fresh air, which was true at first. But the more he was walking and getting that fresh air, the more he was realising he wanted the comfort of one of his friends.

The one he could nearly almost count on, was Yellow. Red could be comforted by all, and he had no particular favourite to comfort him, but Yellows sleep schedule wasn't as well constructed as the of the others.
But as he walked down from his room at the very top, he looked into Yellows room. Who was asleep for once, in his own bed of all places! So Red definitely didn't want to disturb him if he finally was sleeping like any normal person would.

As he was walking down he came past the other rooms of his friends, who all were also sound asleep.
He didn't even had to look into Second's room to check if he was asleep or not. Second, for one, was asleep for a lot of the time, but he also snored quite a bit if he was in a deep sleep, like now. Red wasn't hearing any music either, so Green had probably fallen asleep too. But that one he wanted to check to be sure. And as he walked past, he didn't hear anything coming from Blue's room. And as he looked into said ones room, he saw the owner sprawled out over his bed, but asleep nonetheless.

Red bowed his head a little as none of his friends were awake, and he didn't want to wake them either. But he kept walking, on instinct towards his animal sanctuary. He lifted his head a bit as he thought about going to Dark, but bowed it down again as he realised he probably would be asleep too. And Vic was nowhere to be seen, so even a ghost hug wasn't going to happen.

"Red?" A voice came from besides Red, a few meters away.
He looked towards the source that had called his name, and came eye to eye with Purple.
"What are you doing awake at this time?" Red asked the other.
"I could ask you the same." Purple replied.

A deep sigh came from Red as he thought about telling the other about his silly nightmares. But Purple could possibly give him some of that comfort he was longing for, so he decided to do so.
"I... I had a nightmare..." Red said as he avoided looking at Purple.
"You too huh?" Purple responded with a very calm tone.

"You had one too?" Red asked as he looked back at Purple with a raised eyebrow.
"Unfortunately, yes." Purple said as it was now his turn to avoid the others gaze.
"Want to talk about it? It's okay if you don't want to." Red asked, trying to make sure Purple didn't feel forced to tell.
"Rather not. Or at least not right now, maybe later?" Purple answered, rubbing his arm.
"That's okay." Red said with a reassuring smile.

"Do you want to talk about your nightmare?" Purple asked after a moment of silence.
Another moment of silence.
"Yeah, I do. If you don't mind."
"If I really couldn't handle listening to you, I wouldn't have proposed it." Purple said with a slight laugh in his voice, trying to cheer both of them up a bit.
Red gave a genuine smile, and sat down next to the other.

"Well, I guess it needs a bit of a backstory... Do you know Herobrine?"
The part that is typed with this is skippable to those that have seen the episode this is from, if you haven't, I can recommend you go watch it, but this part should explain the basics of what happened.
"He's a legend from Minecraft. Some evil force?" Purple said, having heard of said man, but not knowing much else.
"Well, I wish he was just that. A legend." Red said as he wrapped his arms around his pulled up legs.

"That does not sound good..." Purple remarked, but let Red explain further.
"It wasn't. He took control over me when we first took the Minecraft block." Red told as tears started to form in his eyes.
"He made me hurt my friends..." He continued with a trembling voice.

But before he could continue the story, two arms had wrapped around him.
"I'm sorry to hear that. But it's okay to have nightmares about that experience, I understand." Purple said, giving Red his much needed hug.
"Thank you." Red said as he hugged back.
Still with the tears in his eyes, but trembling significantly less.

Purple wasn't entirely sure on what to do in a situation like this, but it seemed to work quite well for Red.
He was deep in thought on ideas of what he could do for Red, but Red had gotten an idea himself.
"Hey Purple, do you want to join me to the animal sanctuary?" Red asked when he finally wasn't trembling from the memories anymore.
"That sounds nice." Purple smiled.
He let go of the smaller teen and got up onto his feet.

Once Red was standing too, he took Purple's hand in his, and together they walked over to all the animals. They had expected that there were animals still awake. They had even expected to unintentionally wake some of the animals. What they did not expect, was for another person to be there too.

"Dark? What are you doing here?" Red asked as he rubbed one of his eyes.
Said man looked up from whatever he was doing.
"O, hey Red, hey Purple."
"We just wanted to get out of it, you know? And this was the only place I could think of to go to without much danger of being seen or found out." He explained as he petted his own pet, a spider named Vira.

"But I'm not the only one to come here, the others will too from time to time." Red warned.
"Especially Blue for things he might need for food, like milk or eggs."
"There are more than enough hiding places for me here." Dark stated, but quickly understood that Red was just trying to look out for him.
It was a nice feeling to have someone looking out for him.
"But I'll be careful next time." Dark said with a slight smile towards Red.

"What are you two doing here anyway?"
Red and Purple quickly glanced at each other.
"We um... Couldn't sleep" Purple said.
But right as he said that, Red started to yawn. Purple tried to suppress to urge to yawn too, but failed.

"Yeah, you two clearly aren't sleepy at all." Dark said sarcastically.
But he smiled at the denial of the two, and leaned back against the fence he stood as he decided to not push what was wrong for them. It didn't seem like they were in immediate danger, so he gave them some peace of not prying what was wrong.
"We were asleep, woke up, and didn't want to go back to sleep?" Red tried.

"Bad dreams? It's alright, I had one too, that's why I came here."
"Why come here?" Purple asked.
"Maybe Red has infected me, but being here, surrounded by all these sweet creatures, has something calming to it." Dark said as he stretched out his arm to pet the sheep that had come over to take a look.

"Hm, so we indeed are not so different after all." Purple said, looking between Dark and Red with a smile.
"We should probably go try and get some more sleep though" Dark said with another yawn.
"You're starting to sound like Second, he always tries to make sure we get enough sleep." Red reacted.
"Really? Why doesn't he do anything against Mr. No sleep Yellow?" Purple asked.
"He gave up on trying to get Yellow to bed in time. It almost never works anyway."
"And when he does go to his room, he just continues to work or read there." Red explained with a laugh.
"Never done that before" Dark said, guiltily looking away from the other two.

Meanwhile, practically the entire herd of sheep had gathered near the three, and were bleating for attention.
"Alright, alright. Come here for pats." Red said as he leaned over the fence to pet as many of the sheep as he could.
Purple soon joined them, and together the three were getting mesmerized by the fluff of the many sheep.
Red saw Purple's head bop for a moment, and that was the moment Dark got them together to take at least a small nap.

"Come on, we all really need some more sleep" Dark said as he got the others over to the open shed like building.
There were no closed spaces in this area, but this had a roof, so it would as least protect them from potential rain.
Dark sat down on the ground, with his back to one of the walls, and mentioned the other two to sit down too.
Without any type of warning, Red snuggles himself into Dark's side. But Dark didn't seem to mind, and just laid his own arm over Red. Purple was a bit more hesitant, but Dark tried to coax him into it too.

"I will not bite, or do any other harm. Nor will I tell anyone about this."
"I don't want to sleep." Purple said stubbornly.
"You really want Second to go off on you when you come to breakfast with enormous bags under your eyes?" Red asked, already laying in a apparently comfortable sleeping position.
"Okay, I do not want that to happen." Purple said, and leaned against Darks free side.

But Dark noticed the tenseness of Purples body. And Red seemed to notice Darks reaction to the realisation.
"It's okay to go to sleep, we'll be here if you need us, we won't leave you." Red said and extended a hand out to Purple.
That seemed to calm Purple a little bit, and in turn, also Dark.
"Good night, sleep well." Red said, smacking his lips a bit before giving into his sleepiness.
"Sleep well." Purple replied, and repositioned himself into a sleeping position too.
"Good night." Dark responded.
It took a bit longer to go to sleep for Purple than it had taken Red, but Dark was determined to have both Red and Purple asleep before he let himself. But the moment Purple seemed to be asleep, Dark was out like a light.

< Next morning >

"Yellow? Could you please go set the table for me?" Blue asked from the kitchen, only his head visible to Yellow.
"Yeah, sure." Yellow answered, and put his book and notebook down on the small table that was next to the couch.
Blue and Yellow were the only ones awake for quite some time, but they soon got company from Green.

"Morning guys, how did you sleep?" Green asked, rubbing some sleep from his eyes.
"Pretty well." Yellow answered.
"You slept?" Green asked incredulous.
"Yeah, I actually slept for once." Yellow said as he got glasses for everyone, and put them on the table.

"O! Green! Perfect timing!" Blue exclaimed once he noticed his friend.
"Could you please go get the others? Breakfast is ready!" Blue said as he put another pancake on an already pretty large stack.
"Yeah, sure." Green answered, and walked back towards all the bedrooms.
Yellow meanwhile was getting the plates out of the cupboard.

But before he could continue, he felt something bump his leg, repeatedly.
"O, hey Ruben. What's wrong?" Yellow asked as he saw the pig bumping his leg for attention.
Of course there came no spoken answer, just an oink from Ruben. But it became clear what Ruben wanted when he bit Yellows pants, and tried to drag it away.

"Alright, alright. Let me put this down and I'll follow you."
He quickly walked over to the table and put the plates down.
"Hey Guys? Has any of you seen Red or Purple? Neither are in their room" He heard Green yell from the stairs.
"I think Ruben knows! I'm going to follow him now!" Yellow yelled back.

There came a vague happy sounding oink from Ruben, so Yellow had guessed correctly what he wanted.
"Alright, show me the way."

And together they walked over to the animal sanctuary. It took a moment for Yellow to find the missing two, but he found them safe, sound, and asleep. In the arms of a sleeping Dark.
"Heh, at least they all got some sleep then" He spoke softly to himself.
He knew he had to wake them before one of the others, who might have followed, came and found out.
But he couldn't resist to take a quick picture of the peaceful scenery.

But Ruben couldn't resist to get hugs from his owner any longer, and jumped onto Red, waking all three up.
"Morning sleepyheads" Yellow said with a smile.
Dark shook wide awake at the sound of a voice that was not clearly Reds or Vic's. But let out a relieved breath once he realized it was Yellows.
"O, it's just you. You scared me." Dark said relieved, but with a hint of anger of scaring him.
"Yeah, it's just me. But I'm not sure if none of the others might get curios, and come here too."
"So it might be for the best if I return home, I get it." Dark said as he got up.

"Yeah, sorry. I would love to invite you for breakfast, but I don't think it's a good idea."
"Maybe one day, hopefully." Purple put in.
"The biggest obstacles are Blue, but mainly Second probably." Red said.
"I know Green was very forgiving of Purple, but you think he's okay with your secret friendship with Dark?" Yellow asked.
He thought he was the only one of the others that knew about this friendship.

"He seemed at least neutral about it. Just as long as I don't hurt either of them." Dark said.
Yellow just looked even more confused at that piece of info. He thought he was the only one of the others that knew about this friendship. Besides, when would Green have met Dark?
"He found both Purple and Red with me, after the *ahum* disagreement about Vic." He explained.
"Ah, so that's why he was gone for so long." Yellow reacted, it now making sense.

"But I should leave before either of the other two find out, cause that might not end so well as it went with you and Green." Dark said as he made himself ready to leave.
"See you next time! Just please let us know when you're coming over, okay?" Red said his goodbyes as he gave dark a hug.
"Alright, alright, I will." Dark laughed as he let go of their hug.

"Come on Vira, we're going home" Dark said as he lured his spider back to him.
"Goodbye" Both Yellow and Purple said with a wave and a smile.
"See you all next time, take care!" Dark waved back, and took off.
