What happens when Red befriended someone dangerous? And kept it a secret from all the others?
But what happens, when one of them finds out?

This story is specifically set in what I'll call my own main AU, where other one-shots may be set in this one, or a possible different one.

It was just a normal night. And a normal night, meant being awake for Yellow. His mind seemed to always be awake and working, and this night was no exception.
He was just working on one of his inventions, a camera system he had set up around their property. He was working out the last kinks, and making sure it all works the way he wants it to. At the moment he was programming the latest ones, with the working ones connected on a screen next to him.

But while programming, something caught his eye. Movement, in Blue's garden. And it was not from any critter that might have found its way there. It was something big. Something, someone, familiar...

But it didn't seem to be there to cause any harm, so Yellow decided to investigate.
Was is stupid? Possibly.
Would it have been smarter to let someone else know of this? Probably.
But despite all the warnings his mind was sending him, Yellow was calmly walking towards Blue's garden.
And when he arrived at said garden, the intruder was still there. Gathering some carrots, seemingly not having noticed Yellow.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Yellow asked the intruder once he was a few feet behind said person.
There seemed to be a small moment of fear, but the intruder quickly put up his tough act.
"Nothing that should concern you." He replied.
"It shouldn't concern me? It's you we're talking about. But I guess I'd better call Second." Yellow said, turning over on his heel.

"Alright, alright! I'm here because I'm hungry." The other said, not wanting another interacting with said ginger.
"And you came here?" Yellow asked, slowly letting his curiosity slip through, instead of trying to hold up his intimidating teacher appearance.
"I had no other place to go to, okay?!"
"And I had heard about how much food is being made here, so I thought that none of you would miss a little bit of it."

"Fair, but still. Why here? So second could kill you for real this time?!"
"He already did."
That left Yellow silent. He opened his mouth to say something a few times, but no sound came out of it.
"No, you're not seeing a ghost before you. If I was, I wouldn't have had to steal food from you."

"But... But how are you here?!" Yellow yelled out.
He normally knew and understood everything, he was the smart one, the brains of the group. So it was quite frustrating that he didn't understand.
And Dark lying about it didn't seem logical either, cause surviving the blast Second had thrown at the other was even more of a miracle as being brought back to life would've been.

"I only remember a ghost helping me when I was thrown out of my body, which got destroyed in the end of the battle..."
"But then my body somehow returned, and I tried to get back into it. Which, with a little ghost magic, worked."
Yellow started stammering.
"Yeah kid, more than that I don't really know either. It all went fast, and Vic didn't know he could do that either."

"All that's really important is, is that I am still somewhat here, but I want to try and do it better this time."
"But I really need some food in order to do that." He said as he stood up, grinned awkwardly at Yellow, and proceeded to run away.
But instead of trying to follow him, Yellow stayed where he was. And just as he expected, Dark was back within a minute.
"Alright, where's the exit?" He asked.

"Follow me, I'll get you out of here." Yellow said, and motioned with his hand for Dark to follow him.
There was a moment of silence before Dark's curiosity got the best of him.
"Say, why are you helping me?"
"You said you wanted to be better, so I'm giving you a chance to prove you're speaking the truth."
"You all are indeed way too gullible."
"Hey, I could've gotten Second to come destroy you again. Or I can stop Red from ever visiting you again."

That seemed to stir Dark's interest.
"He told you about that?"
"Not really, just put all the puzzle pieces together. Red goes through the portal sometimes, he boasts about his two mysterious friends to his animals, and after you dropped the name Vic, I connected that the second mystery friend had to be you."
"Please don't tell any of the others, I don't want him to get into trouble."
"I won't. Actually, I think that he's the perfect friend to have if you want to try and be better this time around."

"And thankfully he was right when he guessed you'd be the most open minded of all of you."
"Yeah, consider yourself real lucky I was the one you ran into tonight. If it was Blue, or Second..."
Dark shivered at the thought.
"I'm not sure how Green would react..." Yellow continued.
"Heh, Red didn't know about Green either. I guess that that could go both ways?"
"I think Green would want to know why you did what you did, and based off of your answer, he would or would not give you another chance."

Dark almost walked into their house, had he not noticed in time.
"Hey, it was a real nice chat, but I think that this is going a bit too far."
"Yeah, despite the only one possibly being awake and out at this time, being Red, it's better to be safe than sorry if it's any of the others..." Yellow agreed.
"Hey, if you ever need anything else, please ask Red, or even me, to get it for you. It's safer than doing what you did tonight."

"Yes mom." Dark said with a small laugh.
"Hey, I'm just trying to keep the friendship between you and Red possible."
"He really cares a lot about you, so please become that person and friend he can be proud of." Yellow said, lowering his voice in a very calmly manner.
"I'll do my best, but I'm not sure I can ever beat any of you from his perspective. He boasts about you guys a lot."
"No need for that, just show you're worthy of his friendship."
There would be a small, but fairly comfortable silence between the two, had there not been playing music from a few stories up.

"Now go, I think I'm hearing Greens music,meaning he's going to be downstairs soon." Yellow said, looking up and towardsthe still shut Green curtains.
"See you around. O, and please don't tell Red I was here either. He's pickingup on your lectures." Dark said as he positioned his bag with stolen goodsaround his shoulder.
He gave a short wave before sprinting over to the portal that lead to whereChosen lives, and where he was hiding in the forest near his old home.
