I replied,

"Oh...er... hi " I smiled shyly.

"should I take you to your dormitory?" Aunt Louise asked helpfully.

"yes... Please do " I nodded.

Aunt Louise lead me up a spiral staircase, past two corridors and eventually through a door leading to the girls dormitory. I was kicking myself all the way. Why did I have to be so Shy? It's not like my aunt is a dragon - although it would certainly be funny if she was. Anyway, Aunt Louise handed me a map of the school and a timetable, then told me to meet the school at the dining hall in about half an hour. I looked at where I would be sleeping for the next 5 years. The walls were decorated with images of pouncing tigers,eagles,bears,lizards,wolves. There were a lot of animals painted on the wall and some girls too. The girls appeared to be clutching a necklace with their eyes shut, why they were I didn't know. I unpacked my 'essentials' dumping them unceremoniously in one of my drawers next to my bed. I then unpacked my prized possessions, putting them carefully in my cupboard. But then saw the time and thought

"oh no!"

I was going to be late for dinner!

I was 10 minutes late for dinner and entered the dining hall, blushing.

I saw in front of me lots of  long tables with around 15 pupils at each. A lady with auburn hair like mine told me,

"Did you get lost or something? Never mind, everyone is late sometimes. Please, do sit down."

I sat in a wooden chair and when my class's dinner arrived my class and I ate our dinner hungrily.

Once dinner was over, The lady with auburn hair, who I realized was the teacher, asked me to come to the front of the table. Standing up, she said to my class,

"Secondary 2, we have a new addition to our class. Say hello to Melissa "

"Hello Melissa" chorused my class in a bored tone. My class then got up and went out of the dining room. I joined them as they went up to their dormitory. My class teacher came up to me before I went in the dormitory.

" Hello Melissa, I'm Miss Firebird, your teacher. The rest of the evening is simply free time. Feel free to unpack or socialize with the others. Is there anything you'd like to ask me?"

"No, no. I'm perfectly fine." I replied. Miss Firebird nodded and left me to go in the dormitory. I took a deep breath and opened the dormitory door, ready to start my new life.
