Chapter Nineteen
"What do you mean?" I requested, thinking she was saying that just because of my adventure.
Aunt Louise answered,
"Your power has grown too strong for any of the amulets in this school. That fact makes you an uncommon Creatarr, in Creatarr terms of course, as you know Creatarrs are not common. But you know what I mean."
I was silent, as I had this new piece of information to ponder over. So I was more powerful than anyone else in this school? Awesome! But then I thought of something. If I was more powerful than the other Creatarrs in school, no one would be able to teach me about my Creatarr powers because I was more powerful than them! It would mean I would have to leave the school to go to a different Creatarr school. I was happy here, I had friends and I was doing well, so I didn't want to leave! As I thought about leaving, I got worried.
Aunt Louise noticed this and asked,
"Melissa? What's wrong?"
I answered,
"Aunt Louise, does this mean I will have to leave this school? I will be terribly lonely at a different school and do not want to leave!"
Aunt Louise told me,
"No Melissa, it does not. Normally, a Creatarr with exceptional powers is sent to college because by that age they are generally ready to do their highers, Nationals, etc - most of the non-average Creatarrs discover their powers at a later age. But you will not, because it is neither practical nor necessary to send you to a new school."
"How come?" I questioned, "And what will happen instead - will I simply not learn to advance my powers?"
Aunt Louise chuckled,
"No, you can't learn to not advance!" Calming down, she continued,
"The reason sending you away is impractical is because the school you'd be sent to is in London - which is a ridiculously long way from here! Also, you are not studying for any nationals or highers, so you would not learn academically. But probably the worst factor would be no one there who would be round about your age!"
Aunt Louise paused to sip a cup of coffee, then continued,
"Instead, you will stay at this school and continue your academic learning. However, you will not be joining your class for Creatarr lessons - instead, I will arrange for a specialist Creatarr tutor to teach you your Creatarr lessons. Also, I should probably note: 3 more pupils of your Creatarr power range from all over the north of the UK will be joining you - 1 of them older than you, 1 younger and 1 of them who's turned your age only a month ago. I hope you're happy with this arrangement, Melissa."
I told Aunt Louise, smiling,
"Oh Aunt Louise, I am the happiest I could be with this situation!"
Aunt Louise smiled back,
"I am delighted to hear that. Now, I think we should be getting back to the main hall - everyone will be wondering where we've been!"
We got up from our chairs, put them back in the stacks art the side of the meeting room and went back into the main hall. In the main hall, someone had put some party food on a trestle table and everyone was tucking in.
Jet was dishing out some jammy Dodgers onto a plate and when he saw me, he explained,
"The senior 5's all decided to host us a welcome party to celebrate our safe return! Come join the fun Melissa!"
I grinned and joined in the party, dancing to music, eating party food, chatting to my friends and the 9 pupils I'd rescued, in the main hall. It was great fun! Looking at the clock, I realized it was 3pm - it had been 4 1/2 since I had come to the hall.
After most of the people had got too tired to dance, Jet told me,
"Hey Melissa, Your Dads over there - he wants to see you!"
I looked at the glass automatic doors which you entered the halls main room through and there was my dad! I ran out of the main room and we both gave each other huge hugs. Walking to a different room, Dad told me,
"Melissa when I received the call from your Aunt Louise that told me you had been gone for over 3 days, I was so so worried! I came here as soon as possible when I was run up by a b&b receptionist telling me you'd gone to this Hall!"
I answered,
"I was gone for 3 days? Oh no, I can see why you were worried..." I said, feeling guilty I had worried my dad.
Dad replied,
"You were gone for seven days actually - after receiving the call from Aunt Louise I asked everyone in the Milltree area to look out for you and the 9 pupils and phone me if they spotted you. And I assume you were captured by Jadecapes. But at least your safe now. So, do you want to tell me what happened? I can tell it was most definitely not easy."
So I told him everything, like I had done with Aunt Louise. After I had finished, he told me,
"Wow. That is one amazing adventure you have had! Not to mention shutting down the Jadecapes! I should be mad at you for worrying me, Melissa but really I am proud of you for your efforts."
Pausing, he continued,
"To also hear your a extra powerful Creatarr is wonderful! Your mother was a very skilled Creatarr with the same power level as you."
As he said this, he didn't talk of my mum with a tinge of sadness, it was out of happiness he said it.
I then asked him,
"Why don't you practise Creatarr magic at Home? Aunt Louise told me you were half Creatarr."
Dad thought for a moment then told me,
"I do practise it - I go to an adult Creatarrs club while you are at school. I never told you this as a kid, because your powers were not displaying themselves then."
Dad then told me,
"I have to go now though - got to catch my train back home, though I wish I could spend more time with you. See you in the Christmas holidays."
And worth that, we waved goodbye to each other and Dad hopped into a taxi which purred away down the road, away from the Milltree hall. I weren't back into the hall, into the main room.In the main room, Aunt Louise had her laptop open. She came over and told me,
"The Jadecapes did mean what they said when you threatened them - they have confirmed you and your team have defeated them!"
She showed me the Jadecapes's hastily written email to us :
This is to confirm we will never harm Creatarrs again. Don't you animal leaders dare come back to our camp - or else! We are leaving now...
Leader of Jadecapes
Aunt Louise smiled,
"Fancy calling us 'Animal leaders'! But in a way, it suits us, we do lead animals by traveling in their minds."
she exclaimed,
"With this confirmation that they won't attack, I think we are ready to move back to our building - tell everyone the news!"
Aunt Louise walked off to spread the word and I noticed pupils were in the Milltree halls large garden, partying. Going into the garden, I walked to the bit of wall before the river outside the hall and leaned against it. As the autumn sun set in the distance, I thought about the future. A new tutor, New pupils and my school would be returning to a kind of normal state.
"I am proud to be different, a Creatarr. Nothing will get in this animal leaders way!"
I thought to myself, smiling happily.
The End
